The staff/owners of this hotel are exceptionally attentive and kind. The location of the property to the bus stops and other areas of Long Melford was perfect. Our room was clean, cozy and had recently went through some renovations in the bathroom.

I wished that the lighting in the bathroom had been more extensive. For example, it would have been awesome to have had an additional light on the ceiling above the sink area. Also, there is enough space in the bathroom, I believe, for a small rolling cart or perhaps some shelving. This would've been great to have had in order to set your change of clothes on or additional toiletries. As it was, the only option was to set clothes on the toilet. Lastly, the shower was nice, but leaked water on the floor regardless of how tightly closed the shower door was. I believe this was due to the small open gap between the top of the shower door and the shower frame, itself.

WE were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation in what looked like a well used public house/hotel. The staff were very pleasant and I must here give a special mention to Anastasia. Good car parking at the rear of the building. We enjoyed a good evening meal in the bar/ restaurant and breakfast, the following morning was my usual full English. A thoroughly enjoyable one night's stay in a very pretty part of the country.

It was a little too warm for me in the bedroom and spacious bathroom but I suppose that is a bonus for some peopl.

Location was very good for the other facilities that we were looking to use / visit. Cooked breakfast was nice and just right size with plenty of options for drink and other food options available. Friendly staff who welcomed us when we arrived and were very helpful.

The two beers that I tried (bitter) were tired, maybe due to the high temperature that was experienced at the time. Parking was limited, but luckily there was space available for us when we arrived.

Lovely historic town location. Big comfortable room that was clean. Good facilities in the hotel itself as we were there for a family gathering. Great breakfast for my wife and i. Good selection of cereals, pastries and cakes.

Not quite enough food for the evening event we attended. A choice of what type of eggs we wanted for breakfast would have been appreciated. Kitchen needed to show a little flexibility, as a poached egg for a chef is as simple as dropping and egg in some boiling water. The sense of humour / attitude of the man that runs the hotel was noted. Curt / abrupt at times?

Friendly helpful staff, good food in the pub dining room, good location in picturesque village and very conveniently placed for the wedding we were attending.

Decor was a little tired and small annoying things like one of the bedside lamps not working, there were no tea bags in the room. Bolt on bathroom door was difficult to manage, but nothing that really bothered us.

Chef not able to supply a poached egg at breakfast.!! A Guest asked if they supplied a vegetarian breakfast The person serving us said she would ask ,didnt return to say yes they could,consequently ,She didn't get the egg cooked as she would have liked.

More space to dine in the breakfast area.!! We had attended a Wedding Reception the day before & most guests wanted to sit together at Breakfast which was refused!! So not pleased.

Good location, with parking either to the rear or off road nearby. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and incredibly hard working with nothing being too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely, with good quality locally sourced bacon and sausages. Likewise, we both loved the evening meal we had. Simple pub food it might have been but very tasty and well cooked. A good selection of drinks, including 4 ales on tap and further bottled options available. 👍👍👍 Our ‘superior’ room was in the building next door so we weren’t really disturbed by pub going’s on, not that it was in anyway a problem anyway. Our room was quirky and characterful.

Posh it isn’t but we don’t really do posh, so it suited us perfectly. It was homely and perfectly adequate. Our room was large (with a double seater sofa be 50” TV), could take and would benefit from a larger bed. (We are spoilt with a Super King size at home.... ) the only real issue was that the mattress was too soft for us, others may like it.

Lovely room with a large bathroom. The staff were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere about the hotel and restaurant. Great food and good value for money. Will definitely stay there again

It was quite noisy in the room from the traffic. Also unfortunately during the time of our stay there were workmen outside making a noise all day.

An old and quaint building which was lovely to see coming from London ,the food was freshly cooked and all homemade and sia (owner) couldn't do enough for us , all the staff was very friendly and helpful.the garden area was a welcoming and tranquil space that we enjoyed .thank you Charles and sia for a delightful stay ,we will be back

The size of the family room

The we had to wait for breakfast and order even though there was a buffet area set up but never used!! The tea was put in a flask so it was always cold/luke warm. Never got a hot cuppa. Also they always got your order for breakfast wrong!
