My husband and I liked the pub/restaurant and all the people servicing the Fox Inn. The room was cute and had a vaulted ceiling with a beautiful chandelier. You could tell things were old but they updated everything to make it more than comfortable. We were thankful for the AC since it was warm when we arrived. They did an excellent job of even remembering what kind of coffee my husband and I liked in the morning when we went to breakfast. Excellent Latte's! These people work their butts off to keep you happy and they always had a smile on their faces. Their food was excellent. My husband liked their beer choices. The restaurant was open for 13+ hours a day. It was quaint and a walk from everything. Afternoon tea at the Angel Hotel was excellent! We never had to use a taxi to go and explore. Great shopping and a variety of restaurants to pick from. It was also very safe area. We went to London and Paris and this was by far, our favorite place to get some relaxation! A great way to end our trip---and head home to the US.
Can't think of anything.

The room was beautifully decorated The aircon was a definite plus in the weather at the moment Breakfast was tasty Staff all lovely Allocated parking space
The bath taps are the far end of the bath behind a fixed glass shower panel, the hot water is HOT, I had to climb in the bath itself to turn the taps on! Lesson learnt the second night I put the cold tap on first! No bath mat for the floor you had to ask for 1 ? Tiles very slippy when wet so unfortunately had to use a bath towel to stand on. And yes I could have asked but was undressed when I realised!

Great location for easy walking into Bury St Edmunds centre, spacious room with lovely décor and air conditioning, huge comfortable bed, excellent bathroom and shower, easy parking, friendly staff.
We were in the room nearest the pub (1) and there was a low frequency hum from some nearby machinery (perhaps in the kitchen) that could be heard all night. Even ear plugs did not block the noise and it was especially noticeable if you woke up in the night and so made it difficult to get back to sleep.

Nice room. Adequate size for a few nights. Good location. Nice to have the pub next door. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Lovely open fire and sofas in the pub. Plenty of parking outside of rooms. Short walk to shops, abbey and other restaurants.
Our room (1) was nearest the pub and next to what I presume was the boiler room. So there was a constant hum of machinery noise in the room. Not good if you are a light sleeper. We had asked for a quiet room with no rooms above - so was surprised to be out here. But we couldn’t be bothered to complain and just purchased some ear plugs, also the place was fully booked, so we knew they couldn’t move us. Our friends had room 5 a much bigger room and no noise, and same cost. So I’d go for room 5 in the future. Also minor things, the lights were weird and switches confusing as to how to get things to work. And our radiator in the bathroom was coming off the wall. We reported that, but nothing was done while we were there.

EVERYTHING! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was perfect. All staff friendly, welcoming, helpful and efficient. Loved the location near everything but also quiet opposite Abbey Gardens. The rooms are luxurious and very warm, big comfy beds, spotlessly clean, all you could want provided. Free easy parking just outside door. Every member of staff we met made our stay so lovely. Great room, bar and restaurant. Food first class, fresh, hot, plenty of choice. It was a shame we had to leave! Could get used to such luxury!
Wifi was a bit slow, but we are not very techy so not a great problem for us, but could be awkward if you had to rely on it. Nothing else to dislike. All perfect.

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at The Fox. Located within a 5 minute walk of the BSE city centre, this was a huge bonus when a parking place was included with our room (the accommodation is located behind this very old inn, motel style). Upon first arriving, we wondered what lied beyond our front door - but we were amazed - a beautiful warm and characterful room, well designed and decorated, furnished thoughtfully, clean and warm. Our breakfasts were also very good. But at the end of the day, all credit goes to Joanna who was the very best host - from beginning to end, she was there for us. A lovely, hard-working lady who deserves the best possible accreditation for exceptional customer service. Thank you very much, Joanna.
Greene King need to refurbish the bar at this fascinating, historical old pub.

Room situation very convenient and could park right outside the door. Room pretty well equipped for a short stay . Bed large, quite firm mattress. The only thing I would add would be a small fridge for water and milk. Great location ,short walk to town centre and Apex theatre.
There was a fan or generator running in an adjoining building which did slightly affect sleep quality, avoid room 1 if you think this would bother you. The breakfast was good value and tasty but only luke warm, and plates not hot.

We had room number 5, the rooms are situated in the rear car park away from the main pub building, it was really nice, well presented, we loved the decor, large double bed, bath/shower, Tv, tea and coffee making facilities, rooms are good food available in the pub, good quality breakfast was available, food was discounted the staying on the site.
The Car park was used to access the main car park beyond, so people were walking by at anytime and therefore could be noisy at times. The car park lights were on all night so the rooms we quite light at night. We would recommend making note of the mobile number within the room to access the Pub manager if you get back late etc and have an issue, this will be the only way to access anyone.

Very large room and comfortable superking bed. Surprisingly quiet considering location.Very well equipped - safe, fridge, iron, bath and walk in shower in large bathroom. Air con and good easy parking. Very clean. Good choice of food served all day and breakfast range as expected and reasonably priced. Good location opposite the Priory Gardens and short walk to shops etc.
The pub is very old and must be difficult to maintain but is in need of attention on the outside to improve curb appeal as it does not reflect what is offered inside if you stay and may put people off .

The room was beautiful, very stylish and comfortable, lovely vaulted ceiling. Nice smell. kettle and tea/coffee making, Also a small fridge which was great for bottled water and fresh milk. Large bathroom with good lighting and shower plus bath. Toiletries basic ,large and reasonably comfy bed but synthetic duvet and pillows(pet hate)! Excellent parking right outside room,so easy to unload and great location near Angel Hill and Abbey gardens. Recommended.
Breakfast good but not as hot as it could have been, no extra tea or toast offered. and pastries whipped away before end of service time. Nice tea(Twinings).
