We stayed at Claire's for two nights as we were attending a friend's wedding nearby at Alpheton Barns. It was perfect for what we needed. Well located with parking available which was really helpful. Claire was very welcoming and friendly. There if we needed her, but also very discreet too. The double bedroom is cute, cosy and bright and it was a treat to use the roll top bath. Plenty of towers, flannels etc provided. Tea, coffee, water and milk was provided in the room. There's a TV, hairdryer and great wifi. Peggy was one of the highlights, she is such a cute little cat! We added on breakfast both days and it was well worth the extra fee. Claire tried really hard to get us a taxi booked, but they were all fully booked (our fault for not booking in advance). She even drove us to the wedding venue to collect our car in the morning. Thank you Claire, really appreciate the extra mile you go.

Didn't realise when we booked that it was a bedroom and separate bathroom within the owner's house, but it wasn't a problem at all, just something to note. The bathroom is for your exclusive use and Claire is very respectful of your privacy.

This B&B was probably the loveliest I've stayed in. The room and private bathroom were completely spotless! The owner has thought of every possible detail. The bed was a dream with a luxurious duvet cover and gorgeous pillows, I slept like a baby! The room was stunning. Airy, light and fresh yet cosy. The mini fridge had a glass bottle of milk for tea and coffee. Everything you need is there. The bathroom was simply exquisite. Having a bath whilst looking up to the sky through the window was so relaxing and calming. I recommend this B&B wholeheartedly. The owner is a kind, welcoming and fabulous host. Parking space also available when I stayed. House is just off the High Street tucked away in a lane. Breakfast was a beautifully cooked full English, cereal options, fresh fruit and tea and fresh juice. I was quite frankly stunned at how perfectly managed and presented this room and bathroom were. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I only wish I had stayed more days. Location is fab! You will not be disappointed in any way. What a gem of a place. (photos I took were AFTER I had unpacked etc and don't do the room justice)

Everything was perfect!!

Great location. Just off the high street..within walking distance of the town center. The cottage was lovely..very cozy and comfortable. Had everything we needed for a nice weekend break. Claire was a fantastic host..very friendly..couldn't do enough for you. Even made a great full English breakfast. Talked to us like we have been friends forever. Will definitely be back. And will recommend to friends also.

The absolute best thing about staying here was the fabulous hospitality from Claire and Laurie, our hosts. Such a warm and friendly couple who couldn’t do enough for us. The cottage itself is gorgeous, and Claire has added lots of thoughtful touches (fresh milk in a mini fridge for example). Everything was spotlessly clean. Great location within easy walking distance of the village centre (even with an injured foot!) and the breakfasts were fantastic!

I loved it and would stay again without a second thought - probably not for a business trip, as it’s chocolate-box pretty but a little on the small side so no space for a computer. But that wasn’t what we wanted this time!

Claire is a great host, very welcoming and friendly. She knows the nice places to visit around, the walks we can do in the countryside, local festivals , all you need for a great stay. The bed is comfortable, the room is very nicely decorated, so is the bathroom. The breakfast is really nice.

Really tasty breakfast all we could eat with lovely variation if we needed it. Superb host kind and considerate and an excellent communicator. Central location for shopping and walking. The weather was very good for the time of year so that helped considerably. The venue detailing was exceptional.

Nothing.

Lovely breakfast, comfortable bed and room, great bath, and a lovely garden. Claire and her 3-legged cat are excellent hosts, and we really felt at home here. The cottage is in a quiet, one-way lane, so the loudest external noise is the dawn chorus. It's a short walk from Long Melford's shops, restaurants, and pubs, and a very short drive from Kentwell Hall, where we were participating in an event.

The bathroom, being in the eaves, offers chances to taller guests to bang their heads on the ceiling (being 6', and careless, I managed it 3 times but not seriously. The stairs are a bit steeper than I'm used to, and being on a crutch, I found them a little difficult going up. Neither of these points would deter us from a return visit.

Claire was a great host, the breakfasts were amazing. Good quality food and a good choice offered. The bedroom was freshly decorated, very clean and well presented. The bathroom was lovely, very clean and well presented, a range of toiletries provided. Off road parking is available. We enjoyed our stay very much. An ideal location for seeing many beautiful villages and the city of Bury St Edmunds.

The bathroom ceiling is low for someone very tall, but it does add to the character of the place.
