The room was spacious and the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked well and the produce was delicious and of good quality. We ate dinner at the Inn also. The food was good but a little pricey for what it was.

The bed mattress was uncomfortable and the room was incredibly hot. (There was a locked cupboard in the room that housed the boiler for the accommodation block that our room was in. It was belching out heat.) The manager provided us with a small AC unit which helped to cool the room down. The room also needs blackout curtains. The wooden window blinds let (a lot of) daylight in from around 4am onwards. Finally the outside steps to the accommodation which led to our room and one other room were littered with cigarette ends from previous occupants. The steps didn't appear to have been swept recently.

Breakfast was excellent, location good. Room was nice and had an excellent shower. The bed wascomfortable. Staff was first class ,Annette was first to welcome us and nothing was to much trouble, she made the place tick as always on site. All other staff were also friendly. First class food and comfortable atmosphere.

First impression could of been better with a lick of paint and a gloss superdec applied to windows. Stair carpet edge would benefit with a strip to cover the wear. Kitchen door could do with a lick of paint and a push strip applied to avoid hand Mark's. Just minor areas of improvement to show off an otherwise excellent business.

Comfortable stay with friendly, efficient service and good breakfast. Room was tidy and airy with a very good shower and warm, comfortable bed. Plenty of room for clothes to hang and store. Resident's entrance at side of building. No noise from bar/restaurant. Had a celebratory dinner on last evening, which was expensive, but very enjoyable.

Small area for parking (3 cars) through alley at side of hotel, which was difficult to see if full, as approached. Parking on road available, although not always clear which angle the car should be parked at, and sometimes stuck out into road.

The service was very good ,rooms were clean and spacious, the beer garden was a lovely sun trap .

The room was great but the bed creaked everytime one of us moved which wasn't great for sleep ,one of the windows was painted shut .breakfast was nice but it would of been nice to have some gentle music in the background as it was quiet like a waiting room and the option to go into the garden to have it would of been lovely as it was scorching when we were there .

Clean room, comfortable bed. Nice shower. Evening meal was very good. Cromer crab and superb pork chops. Butterscotch bread and butter pudding for dessert. Breakfast was pleasant. Not large but when you consider the base b&b price it was good. Friendly staff and efficient. For the price we paid for room, very good value indeed. Will use again if in the area.

The price of drinks was high. This bumped the meal cost. There are several other pubs in the vicinity and drinks aren’t as much as here.

Good sized beds which were nice and comfy. The young man who served us our beautifully cooked breakfast-he was so pleasant and efficient-had such a nice way about him-really understood the meaning of service-big thanks to him for making our stay so pleasant.

When we last stayed here we were in the quieter annex. This time in rooms 2&3 at the front of the hotel. We thought it would be a sleepy village at night-not so…. from 0430 onwards there is a constant passing of cars through, so if you are not a heavy sleeper this may be an issue. And a delivery at 6ish was very noisy.

Breakfast (incl in rate) good. Bar food for lunch good. Dinner very nice. Single room nice, comfortable good bathroom. Staff friendly, helpful.

WiFi poor. Weak signal most places on property. Easy and inexpensive to put in some repeaters around the property!! Dining room nice. Bar table area not well laid out , furnished or decorated. Could be made more comfortable, better furnished - some easy chairs not just tables for example - more welcoming. Lighting too harsh in the evening in that area.

The staff were wonderful - very attentive and polite under the circumstances of a Covid resurgence. Food was excellent and facilities good. Lots of hot water for a shower and clean towels. Well done on a good job under such difficult circumstances.

It was in the middle of the Covid resurgence and the staff were dropping daily giving the poor owner a bit of a headache! I did feel that this probably led to a few issues with housekeeping which wasn’t as thorough as could be but there were always clean towels daily.

Loved the fact that this was an old coaching inn with so much history , The pub interior was warm & inviting. We arrived to late to eat but managed a couple of pints with the landlord who was friendly and chatty. Room was lovely, very clean and a great size with a separate bathroom. Breakfast in the conservatory next morning was lovely. Would love to go back again and would highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

The bar closed at 10.00pm The mattress was to soft for me but that's personal preference!

The room was in an annex at the rear of the property, so there was hardly any road noise. It was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The property is situated in the heart of Long Melford, a very attractive village with lots of independent shops and two large and excellent antique centres.

Nothing I can think of!
