Great location and really quiet

Electric Shower wasn’t powerful and I found cobwebs above the curtains, behind the TV and between the spotlights. It seems like the cleaners don’t look upwards when cleaning

Lovely location with lovely grounds. We had a garden room, which was quite large. Enjoyed our breakfast on both mornings - even though we were the only guests on the second day, full English was stilled served. We met relatives on the first day but the second day we just wanted to relax. We had a nice walk around the grounds, the churchyard - which was very interesting and visited the garden centre at the bottom of the road and the local pub. Strange being on our own there but nice and relaxing.

Everything was ok.

I absolutely loved this place! The room we had was very spacious, very comfortable bed, nice leather sofa, real painting on the wall, radio, tv, basically everything you could possibly need and more and clearly the owners did not cut off from any expense in making the room as nice as possible! Our room looked into the garden as well which was great, so we were able to let the door open for our dog to go in and out. The hotel is basically a massive estate with plenty of land to walk on, really quite as there is nothing around, there is a lake as well where you can go and have a picnic next to our just lay down on the grass and read. We also had breakfast and dinner at this place and the food was very good, in test, quality and presentation. The last that took care of us was a very good chef! In short it felt like heaven on earth! Totally recommend for a holiday if you just want to relax and do nothing!

Everything was perfect, nothing to comment here!

Such a lovely place, I traveled for business in Cambridge as usual every month but this time with my daughter, this is the reason I stayed in Haverhill and not in Cambridge. She was staying during the day with the daughter of my collègue. She had a blast and was so sad to leave. She loved watching the rabbits and giving grass to the horses. Such a special experience.

Beautiful Manor house. The owner was very welcoming as he spoke to guests by the fireplace. The room was unexpectedly and delightfully very warm for an old building, even the renovated, modern, huge bathroom had underfloor heating! The huge open grounds areas were immaculately taken care of and provided a fantastic area to star gaze at night and watch the rabbits and pheasants in the morning.

Arriving at 5pm, it was dark and it was hard to find the parking area. A sign would have been helpful for the drop off area and the overnight parking area.

We were welcomed upon our arrival and immediately shown to our room. The bedroom and bathroom were really spacious, and located around a courtyard with lots of areas to sit and relax. We were staying with two other couples for a wedding elsewhere, and it was the perfect place to be. We had dinner at Sturmer Hall on the Friday evening, which was delicious, and we dined on the terrace because the weather was glorious. Breakfast was also scrumptious, with plenty of choice. The staff who looked after us whilst we were there, were a fabulous team. They were all friendly, helpful and professional, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel grounds are beautiful and full of wildlife, and there is a very pretty church next door.

Nothing, it was all just what we wanted from our stay.

Good welcome. Friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast. An amazing hotel and grounds.

We had an amazing suite, with a very comfortable lounge. The only complaint was that there was only a double bed when there was plenty of room for a king. THE ONLY COMPLAINT!

The staff were so attentive and professional. This really didn’t feel like a hotel stay where you were just a statistic; it was so homely and there was great attention to the little details in the room. Breakfast was wonderful and the team were so accommodating, professional and great fun.

We couldn’t fault the room, parking or reception and both commented that we would return again.

Staff were friendly and informative. Wendy had phoned the day before to explain there was a wedding on during our stay and to call when we arrived. Which we did, and after a few mins she came to let us into our room, which was in a block to the side of the main house. Breakfast was lovely, vegan and vegetarian catered for. Check out process simple and quick. Issue with noisy neighbours dealt with quickly and helpfully in the night.

The room was quite hot when we arrived, unfortunately we couldn’t leave the door open (no other window to open)as our neighbours were smoking in the garden in front of our rooms. There was a small fan in the room. Sink in the bathroom didn’t drain without holding the plug open & bathroom fan didn’t appear to work.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was large and comfy. Plenty of towels. Room had an excellent garden with a covered social area directly outside. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Our room was a short 20 or 30 meter walk away from the breakfast room so if the weather is poor you will need a brolly or coat. The restaurant was in a permanent marquee a good 100 meter walk away via a shingle pathway. Although there appeared to be an unused restaurant in the main building where we had breakfast. This place is confusing when you first arrive if you are not familiar with the layout. Limited signage to show where to go / park / where reception is. (Its in the main large house)
