Andover House Hotel & Restaurant - Adults only

I had a really comfortable stay. The hotel is stunning. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by very nice staff, very informative and friendly, check in was quick. My room was lovely, all the things you could need such as a standing fan, iron and ironing board, lots of tea/coffee etc were in the room so I did not need to ask for anything. I travelled alone and booked a small double room. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, everything worked and was in great condition, plenty of space to move around, plenty of plug sockets and placed near mirrors which was helpful for hair and makeup, I slept really well, no complaints. The curtains are thick material keeping the light out, and throughout the night I did not hear any other guests and I am usually a light sleeper. I did hear a couple of doors shutting in the morning as people were leaving but minimal noise, nothing that was disturbing. There is a phone in the room and menu for the room service which is useful if you wish to remain in your room. The bedding and towels were good quality. You can see they take great pride throughout the hotel. First time I have travelled to Great Yarmouth and if I need to go again later this summer I shall stay here again. I had a great experience. I drove and found parking on the street outside the hotel. There is no car park as such, however there is lots of on street parking, failing that there is pay and display car parks along the sea front, but I had my car on the street outside free of charge with no issues. My room was facing the main street, peaceful at night. They do offer breakfast for an additional charge, however I did not have breakfast here due to meeting family so unable to comment on breakfast. Check out was quick, again very polite, friendly staff. The price is brilliant for the quality you get, great staff, the location is great, it is so close to everything that I did not need to use my car until I left the next morning. I had a really nice stay here.

Stayed here before, had same room which we liked with wonderful bathroom. Staff are always excellent, really friendly and helpful.

Would have liked a fridge in the room and 'real' milk for morning tea would have been the icing on the cake, and it does happen in some good hotels. Could have done without the window cleaner while we were still getting ready, had to draw the curtains again. No real complaints though.

Although quite small the room was very well decorated, the bed very comfortable and the tv large. The hotel has very comfortable sitting rooms and a very nice breakfast room. We both had cooked breakfasts. The food was very good with the staff actively offering coffee, juice and toast several times. At £7.50 per breakfast I thought it was very good value for money.

One very small criticism is that although the shower was large and very good, some water did get on the bathroom floor as the shower could not be completely closed.

Location was great; the street runs down to the middle of the promenade. There is a nice area outside the hotel to sit and have pre-dinner drinks and also a small enclosed courtyard at the rear of the property. The hotel is spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. We stayed in one of the suites with a separate bedroom and sitting room with small kitchenette, which was perfect for our needs. We ate twice in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious. The portions are ample, beautifully presented and fairly priced. The breakfast menu is also very good and delicious with good quality produce used. Our room was serviced every couple of days, with change of towels and bed linen. The staff was very pleasant and helpful without exception. We would recommend the hotel heartily.

My only niggle was the size of the wardrobe. Like many women I take too many clothes. The wardrobe was single and my husband and I planned to stay for 11 night, so the space was an issue. Other than that we had no other dislikes.

The staff were very friendly .. the rooms spotless .. beds really comfortable .. good size and quality TV screen .. iron and ironing board .. evening meal very good .. lovely quiet location

Flimsy shower unit and wonky shelving .. no biscuits with tea/coffee tray .. furnishings good but a little sterile and all variations on a theme .. a more personal touch and individuality would be good!

My only hotel of choice when staying in Great Yarmouth for the pass few years , plus the staff can’t do enough for you. Also the restaurant is fantastic 5 Stars, and the breakfast is definitely worth getting up for even if you go back to bed after as I did.

The only down side was the scaffolding due to the building exterior updating and decorating at the time, but was warned by the hotel before hand and was my choice to book and still had a great stay.

Andover House is very clean, we enjoyed a lovely comfortable ground floor room with an excellent bathroom featuring a stand alone bath and a large separate walk in shower. The breakfast was superb, very well cooked and presented by lovely friendly staff

To be honest we found nothing that was not to liking

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. They responded quickly to queries before arrival. We ate in the restaurant in the evening which was excellent, as was the breakfast. Everything was well organised, and the rooms were clean with very comfortable beds.

Two of the rooms weren't very warm even though the radiators were turned up to the maximum setting. In fairness a separate plug in heater was available. The shower cubicles were also quite small, especially the space available to enter and exit the shower. Shampoo was provided but no body wash.

room felt up to date and modern. suitable iron and hairdryer provided. tv with Netflix and associated apps ready was a nice touch

layout of the hotel meant you had to walk through a small lounge to get to some of the rooms, and the reception location was weird as it wasn’t the first thing you saw when you entered the hotel. allocated parking would have been nice as being close to the sea front means parking spaces are taken early in the morning

The room we had (double room with Lounge) was so large and very comfortable with a huge comfy settee in the lounge as you entered the room, with a separate bedroom. It was clean and had everything including a hairdryer, coffee and tea facilities and an iron and ironing board. The breakfast was also very nice, freshly cooked and staff were fantastic, never waiting for anything. I will definitely be staying again when next in Great Yarmouth.

Rooms were quite warm so the windows could have opened a little bit more, but this is of course, is only very minor! This also might be a safety feature?
