Furzedown Hotel

Staff were very polite and helpful. The room was small and hot but a fan was provided upon request. Helpful information was given, in different ways. The shower facilities were fine. The breakfast included was a fabulous bonus (given the cheap price) - a fantastic selection served by friendly staff who were attentive to our needs. The location was very convenient, being right on the sea front, with free parking too. For the price, this was a great deal.

One thing only - the single room was small and it got very warm in the summer, so difficult to sleep for me personally. That is my only quibble.

Staff is amazing, engaging and accommodating to your needs. Breakfast (included!) has great options including for vegans. Double bed room was good, good sized room and great treats ( toiletries to coffee/biscuits). It’s a 10min walk from the pier and main attractions, and a stone throw away from the Waterways (their little Venice) with boats to hire, lots of history and amazing lavender scent in the summer! Beautiful singing birds would wake you up in the summer too.

The single room is way too small so I’d recommend the double one. If you want seaside view you’d need to get one of the more expensive rooms (worth it with a balcony though).

This family run hotel has a nice vibe & you can tell that it is not part of a chain as it feels soulful. The staff are very friendly & can be heard singing when walking around the hotel. Our rooms were very comfortable & characterful. There are a lot of stairs up yo the top of the building. The food at dinner and breakfast was exceptionally good. You don't need to leave the hotel to get fed well. Location was excellent. I was travelling with my elderly father & we both felt very well taken care of & would definitely stay again.

Everything was at the very least satisfactory rising to excellent for the food.

Friendly welcome and helpful. Lobby was small but inviting. Loved the quirky layout of the staircases. Room looked fresh and so was the towels and bed linen. All that one needed in the room although a little small, but liked it. Great sea view. Bath products were available in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. Staff were attentive and quick when ordering.

Bath a little on the small side for a slightly larger lady. It was a little stained near the shower and unfortunately the shower ran cold so had to have a bath instead. Meant to say at checkout but forgot.

Staff were excellent, property and rooms exceptionally clean and well maintained and particularly impressed with layout,colour scheme and design of the bar and restaurant. The breakfeasts were of exceptional quality with plenty of choice on the menu and servings generous. l think one would be hard pressed to find better fish and chips than offered by the Hotel's restaurant. Location excellent opposite attractive walking area and far enough away from the funfairs and associated noise of Great Yarmouth's beach centre but only a few minutes walk should you want to enjoy it.

The only criticism l would make is the hotel room we had though of generous proportions did not quite match the layout and design of the Hotel's public areas. With a little more thought room could easily be changed from adequate to brilliant. Quite possible owner's may very well be planning to upgrade some of their rooms in the near future.

On arrival we received a warm friendly greeting from Lisa. We arrived early and our room was ready so we were able to check in and go straight to our room. There is no lift, but Lisa promptly offered to help us with our luggage up to our room which was on the top floor. On arrival to our room we had a beautiful sea view room which did not disappoint. In our view this is not a 3* hotel, easily a 4*. The only reason it is a 3* is because there is no lift. We dined in the Garrods Restaurant and had a lovely meal. We also visited the bar which we found really friendly. Plenty of choices for breakfast which was also great. The hotel is run by a fantastic team of staff who go over and beyond. Well done to you all.

Not a criticism but the road to the car park is very narrow. We were pleased we didn't have to move our car until we came home. On the plus side, at least there is a car park.

Almost everything!!! Comfortable rooms. Hotel clean everywhere. Staff attentive and very helpful. Breakfast amazing. Out of the way of the hustle of the nightlife but about 10 min walk In to centre. Room had a bath which is rare these days. Breakfast staff couldn't do enough for us and all the other staff were friendly and hospitable. Food was incredible and plentiful. Was nice to be actually served instead of self service. Local produce used Would def stay there again

No curtains up at the bedroom windows. Just a roller blind. Which was OK but when it's warm and the windows are open, and there's a breeze, the plastic bit at the bottom of the blind bashes against the window. Keeps you awake and is very annoying. Also not blackout blinds. Curtains would be better option. Breakfast only served til 9.30 so you don't get much if a lie in !!!!

Located on the seafront and a family owned and run hotel. Well presented and clean and tidy. Cosy bar and pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant had a reasonable range on its menu and well cooked. Staff very pleasant and answered any questions I had. Impressed that a non slip bathmat was provided and suitable amenities unlike some well known chains of hotels. Evening meal and breakfast was really nice and cooked to order.

Regret access to the car park at the rear of the hotel is extremely tight for larger vehicles and may have a problem. A solution was at hand and advised which I duly used. Other than that no problems.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was ready early for us as we were coming from overseas. The heating was on and the room was comfortably warm. The meal service in the dining room was excellent. Apart from the full breakfast which was most enjoyable we also had an evening dinner which was delicious too.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.

We was a little disapointed when we arrived as we were told the restarant was fully booked.but after my husband went down and spoke with them a lovely table in the side room was made for us and we had a lovely meal thank you so much & the breakfast was outstanding

The room was a bit cold quite a bit of draught coming through window near bed.considering it was a beautiful big building & winter by the sea to be expected i suppose
