Pier Hotel

The breakfast waitress on the Saturday was amazing. Cheerful and friendly and went out of her way for us. I hope the youngsters on duty on the Sunday follow her example in time. :-) Loved the decor in the communal areas, especially the beautiful dining room. The location is superb - right next to the beautiful sandy beach. Were there to celebrate a birthday and my special requests were carried out, no questions. Big film and music fans so the link to the film Yesterday was our reason for booking.

The hotel is in a good location right next to the beach although there was nothing else of interest to us in the town - we ate dinner in the hotel each evening and the food was good, the service was efficient and friendly and the bar was lively. We chose room 108 rather than the suite next door and having checked that room during our stay were happy with our choice. In the late winter, it was a great stay for a couple of nights and close enough to the broads to take a boat out one day.

Everything was up to par.....

All staff were faultless. The rooms were very nice with everything you need. There was plenty of parking and the beach is literally a stones throw away. There was a very good choice from both the breakfast buffet and menu items with good quality ingredients used with very generous portions. Bar and restaurant meals also had something for all tastes and again excellent ingredients, portion size and price. The waiting service was very good. An excellent example of an art deco traditional seaside hotel and very popular with both day trippers and locals. Don't be fooled by the 3 stars. It's standards are definitely higher.

Short stay only one night for an exam but provided all I needed in lovely surroundings. Quiet Comfortable bed, good temperature in the room. Stunning beach/sea view. Probably the nicest hotel bathroom I have ever had! Great breakfast (just a shame my appetite/nerves meant it was wasted on me)

Internet didn't work during my stay but luckily my 4g was reasonably reliable. Wouldve been 10/10 if it wasnt for the WiFi issue. Lack of tables in the restaurant but this is to be expected and I was offered seating in another area. Not a huge amount to do in the immediate vicinity from what I could see, but I wasn't there for leisure so wasn't really looking.

The shower was great, the bed was comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was generous in size and very well prepared. The weather was wonderful but I'm not sure what control you had over that!

We didn't like the stairs to the top floor but we were able to take the lift the the 2nd floor. The door into room 304 didn't close without a bang. The shower head could do with adjustment as it placed water at the back of the shower area and then it leaked onto the bathroom floor.

food was excellent. Could not believe salmon and scrambled eggs on a toasted muffin for breakfast as well as Kippers and other great choices as well as the usual. Also Dinner choice was equally diverse and superbly cooked. Good to see they made an effort for the jubilee - well done. Also good choice at the bar, with local ales as well as the usual national ones. Lift was so quiet and smooth , we sometimes thought it wasn,t moving. We would recommend this hotel.

We were happy all round with the Hotel just weather let us down so we could not swim off the adjacent beach.

Room was fine, clean and plenty of coffee/tea facilities. Plenty of hot water.

Window a bit draughty in our room. Weather was very windy but was quite cold in room even with radiator on. Bath needed a handle on the wall to assist getting in and out.

Great location, bedroom overlooked the beach and sea. Fell asleep and woke to the sound of waves breaking on the beach. Good food and friendly staff, great for a three day stay!

Would have liked a drinks menu as you could only order from your table due to COVID restrictions.

location and car parking brilliant. all staff friendly and helpful. gluten free menu. lovely freshly cooked evening meal. walking in shower. sea view room. felt comfortable in the hotel as a solo traveler.

the carpets throughout felt like they needed a deep clean. some of the paintwork in the stairway/corridors and windows and inside the lift were dirty/shabby. The website booking didn’t work so had to use third party booking.

One of the best we've stayed at. Staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a lift to the 2nd floor and 2 charging points for our electric car. It's a bit more expensive than our usual choice but the hotel, the position and view was perfect for us will save up and go again

Not a big problem but there are renovation works going on at the moment. It DID NOT affect our stay but thought you should be aware
