Guildford Manor Hotel & Spa

Good spa: Sauna, steam room, 15 metres pool, indoor jacuzzi and large outdoor jacuzzi. Free water at the spa. Air con in room but also option of 4 opening windows. Good location and pleasant views. Only a short walk to Newlands corner beauty spot. Dinner was enjoyable and very well presented. All the staff were friendly and polite. Good breakfast options. Good shower and tv in room.

Dinner was quite pricey, although I think it was competitive with similar hotels. There was only one chair in our room, we would have liked 2. It would have been useful to have had the dinner menu in our room information book..

Didn't use the facilities due to time constraints but the room and food were lovely. Not marked as excellent as I'm quite picky the shower didn't drain very well so had to have a short shower to prevent flooding my room, there were a couple of stains on the carpet and some of the furniture was a little tired / dusty in places (I should note that I didn't report any of these so they may have been resolved by the staff if i'd have asked).

Lovely spacious room with wardrobe which contained a safe and an iron & ironing board. Plenty of room for luggage. Mugs for tea & coffee. Very efficient blinds as opposed to curtains which pulled up to reveal a lovely view of the gardens. The floor fan in the room was very appreciated. Spacious bathroom with a rainhead shower. We added breakfast on the morning we stayed. Big selection of cooked items, 4 types of cereal, fruit, meat & cheese & yoghurts, croissants, juices and tea & coffee. Our room key was a real key & not one of swipe card things that periodically stop working usually at the most inconvenient moment.

Possibly another packet of biscuits - we only had the one.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfast selection was great. The hotel exceeded my expectations with its clean and spacious rooms, very friendly staff, and a delightful breakfast spread with a wide variety of options to choose from.

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel fell short as we were given a room that did not match the pictures displayed on the website. The pictures showed a bath, but to our disappointment, room 37 only had a shower. I was disappointed to discover that the room we were assigned, room 37, did not match the pictures shown on the website. Despite the pictures displaying a bath, the room only had a shower.

We had the best welcome. The room was amazing. We had a large bathtub with jacuzzi settings. The bed was nice and comfortable and the air-condition was so good that it kept us cool. The restaurant had amazing meals, and the staff was brilliant. As a hotelier myself, I take notice of things, and everything was perfect. We are already looking forward to our return.

We asked for a late checkout and paid the extra cost for 2 o'clock. 13.55 they messaged me to contact the reception and told me that my stuff were at the back of the reception. My disappointment was when I saw my suitcase the hand rail for my small suitcase was missing. I knew it was loose but when I left my suitcase in the morning it was still intact.

We couldn't believe how beautifully kept the grounds gardens were, with all kinds of flowers and greenery, an outdoor hot tub and garden furniture on patios and the decking. The view from the room was lovely, inside the hotel was decadent and there were plenty of lounge spaces to relax besides the room itself. Breakfast was delicious and the dining area was nice. All staff were friendly and helpful, telling us of nice areas to explore around the hotel. They gave us cutlery and plates to eat our nandos and were very welcoming. We didn't get to use the gym or spa as we were busy but it all looked very clean and nice. This is the perfect place to hold a wedding or conference, and I have recommended my parents to come and stay next time they are in Guildford. Hidden gem and quite underpriced compared to the other hotels down south.

I would have liked breakfast to run on a little later as I'm not always hungry first thing in the morning, but I think most hotels stop serving around 10am to make time for lunch. A fridge in the room would have been a lovely touch as the bar is not open all night. Overall a really great hotel and no complaints.

The staff were amazing! At the front desk: On check in and out was a very polite, punctual and friendly male receptionist (forgot to ask him for his name). The Restaurant: Restaurant staff were exceptional :) Breakfast was fresh, tasty and obviously cooked with passion. The Room: I was upgraded for free into a masive bedroom 🥰 which was very clean and well furnished. I had two massive windows overlooking the gardens. The Spa: I was on a business trip and unfortunately couldn't enjoy the Spa, looking at the rest of the hotel i would imagine that it is amazin. Surle i will be back to check on the Spa 😇 Parking: Plenty of free parking all around.

The shower control in my room was broken, But the main shower seting was working 😊 so not a big deal I guess they have fixed it, the very second i told reception (maintenamce went straight there 😁)

Efficient polite check in, room great value for money, room dated but reasonably comfy.. see below re pillows , nice spa and pool, staff polite and friendly overall very enjoyable stay stayed in room 10 quite querky layout, great view of lawns nice big bathroom.

Bar food in afternoon not good value, expensive, cheap white bread,very basic fillings,would benefit from better quality bread and maybe small salad garnish to justify the price. Restaurant menu limited and not very enticing..ate at local restaurant instead..some of outside space looked little Scruffy but understand maintenance may be underway this time if year. Pillows need replacing bit lumpy,top pillow cover frayed and very old and knackered and not great colour...made room feel little unloved. Would prefer white towels so can see are clean

couldn’t get TV connected to wifi so no streaming services in room (31) noisy/whistling air conditioner/heater - kept me awake (although my son loved it as he likes sleeping with white noise!) previously mentioned elephant border! paying for robe for spa -(didn’t really need one as changing room is right next to pool, or could take your own)
