The Holroyd Arms

The room we stayed in was a decent size and the beds were comfortable. The staff are super friendly and very approachable and the wifi was excellent. I'm a trade and it's nice to be able to get a hot meal from the pub in the evening. And would recommend the burgers on the menu as they are all very tasty especially the Moo blue. If I'm ever working in the area again it will be my first port of call when looking for digs for the week. And have already recommended it to my work colleagues who are still working in the area.

My only gripe and it's a small one really is that I would have liked a microwave in the room.

We booked here because it was one of the closest to the hospital, where i had a proceedure scheduled for 9 am. The location was good, the check in too, staff were lovely. Because i had to fast prior to going to the hospital, we didnt order breakfast. rooms decent sized, very comfortable beds and very quiet TV decent size and tea/coffee making facilities appreciated

a plug in the sink would have been nice, for what i paid i was very satisfied with the accommodation, but dont expect 5 * for 2* prices

The staff were very friendly, good location, quiet area……very comfy beds ……free wifi

Curtains in room were very thin , letting in a lot of light from the rope of electric lights right outside the window …….seals round bottom outside of shower need cleaning/replacing……….we couldn’t park at hotel after a long day out from the hotel , and i have a disability badge for car …so maybe a few “guests only” or a disabled bay would be good

Hi. Thank you for a great stay. As a single woman travelling alone I felt very welcome and safe at the Holroyd Arms. Its a great location as in a bus stop to town or hospital a few paces away. A shop just down the road and of course the bar and food at ghe Holroyd Arms itself!!!! Really friendly welcome and all the people there including the regulars. Music nights on too a bonus if you like that sort of thing otherwise a sunny beer garden was the perfect spot for a chilled cider!! I'll definitely be back. Thank you for looking after me.xx

The snoring man in room next door.....which isn't anything the property can change!!! It isn'the walls are thin....just a loud snorer....hahahaha.

The lady on check in was excellent! Very funny and extremely welcoming. Great that the hotel is part of a pub that does live music, if you like live music. The staff even brought us technically, breakfast in bed! the next morning. Lol. Would definitely stay here again when in the area. Highly recommended hotel. Needs a bit of maintenance in the rooms but nothing really to complain about. Thanks for a great stay.

Nothing. Not even the man singing Livin on a prayer at the top of his voice after the band had finished! Lol. He was very entertaining.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was freshly cooked. Although there was a live band playing, we did not hear them and as the outside bar was closed at 10pm, it was quiet by around 11pm.

I was happy with our room although the shower cubicle could do with a refresh and there wasn't any toiletries (i.e shampoo, shower gel or soap) but we did have a toilet roll and towels so perhaps this is what the host meant as toiletries. It advertises breakfasts every day but we couldn't find anyone in the morning to ask about it.

It was really quiet, even on Saturday night with live music in the pub. With the window shut, couldn't hear it. It was comfortable, two beds, shower, everything we needed. No frills, but I didn't expect that.

The car park was full when we arrived and no road parking, and there was one space when we came back later. But it Saturday night with live music.

Very convenient location for the GSA. The room was very comfortable, although I only requested a twin room, there were 3 beds which gave us more space to spread out. The desk was very useful for my son who had to do some work during the evening. We had dinner in the bar which was very good, the barman was extremely helpful. There was some noise outside the room in the morning but it didn't really disturb us.

The only complaint I have is that the noise from the other guests in the morning was quite loud, mainly doors banging shut.

Very friendly informative manager and staff. Made stay very enjoyable, location for music pub was excellent. Mini mixup with drinks order, Friend (mrW you know who you are) asked me to get him a "lowenbrau" lager(not made since 1990s), got a chuckle from the manager, after that, ordered 2 lowenbrau's all night, ;-)

The owners were really friendly. We loved the atmosphere at the adjoining public house and enjoyed an evening meal and a drink there The landlady even offered to bring dinner to our room if we were tired, but we enjoyed eating in the garden instead. The next morning we were served a delicious al fresco breakfast. I would definitely stay again in the future.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. We hired the room knowing it was attached to a public house and partly chose it for that purpose so that we could have a meal close to our room. The accomodation is basic, but comfortable - and very affordable - perfect for our needs.
