Worplesdon Place Hotel

Food served (breakfast & dinner) was exceptional. Very good size room overlooking the lake. On Booking .com described as a suite but the room didn’t entirely match this. Shower was great along with hairdryer and iron. However, normally in a suite you would have a fridge, and a selection of teas, hot chocolate etc rather than just breakfast tea and two types of Nescafé coffee. There was a Nespresso but the coffee offered very strong. This is being picky I know and not necessarily down to the hotel more around how it’s been labelled on the site. I would suggest it’s more an extra large double.

Strong smell of tobacco as you walked into the room however not so noticeable once in the room. Couldn’t be helped but scaffolding blocked the view of the lake. None of the negatives mentioned would prevent us staying again; in fact we’ve booked for the same weekend next year.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The room had all the usual facilities with lovely soap and hand cream. The bed was comfortable and we had a great sleep. The shower was excellent with ample hot water. The onsite restaurant was good and it was very busy with what appeared to be non residents. The seating area on the decking outside the bar area was very comfortable with great views of the private grounds. We would definitely use this hotel again when back in the area.

The overall decor could do with a freshen up. It was very hot and quite stuffy but then again it was extremely hot outside. The computer system was down all the time we were there and had been for some time before our arrival. We had to pay each time we purchased something and could not put it on the room. As this was a business trip I would have liked all my expenditure on one invoice, otherwise it would not have mattered.

Wonderful place to stay. We stayed one night with our dog to break up a long journey and loved it. It's an extra £15 to bring a dog, which is a bit steep, but they are made ever so welcome. Great local beer. I had roast beef, beef was a bit dry but it was 7pm on a Sunday night so I expected leftovers, however, it was real.roast potatoes and fresh home made Yorkshires, delicious. Breakfast was expensive but superb, if you have the appetite first thing in the morning, it's well worth it. Nice quiet room and shower was good. The lovely Lorna seemed to work long hours but didn't moan once, she was a joy to chat to and seemed to really care that we had a good time. All staff were super. The common is just behind the hotel so handy for dog walks but it was soooo muddy, take your wellies and a towel. A really good example of a Youngs pub, will be back

The breakfast was exceptional, probably one of the nicest ones we've ever had in a stay at a hotel. The beds were comfy and the shower was a really good pressure. The grounds and patio area were very pretty and well maintained. Our stay was great value for money.

The room was a little small and the bathroom quite compact. A light above the mirror in the bathroom would have been nice as it was quite dark and my husband couldn't see to shave. There was quite a wait for breakfast but only because a large party arrived just before us so understandable really.

Good value for money, nice clean room how ever I could hear noise from another room above me, (not excessive) but a constant drone of a voice talking late into the early hours. woke me several times. Restaurant food was nicely presented however my chips had obviously been waiting on the pass too long as the burger was hot and the chips were cold and when you are paying £15-£17 for burger and chips it would be nice if they were hot, the waiting staff did not ask if the food was ok they just asked if I had finished despite clearing the bucket of uneaten fries.

A very warm and cosy place to stay. We were there for 4 nights and everything was good except one thing (mentioned below). Breakfast was not included in our price so we paid for it as we ordered. It took a bit long for breakfast to arrive, but when they did, it was exceptional. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Check-in, check-out process was a breeze.

The towels were not replaced everyday. Rather than replacing, they neatly folded it and left it there.

Beautiful location, kind helpful hard working staff, particularly Laura who gives her all every time. Excellent chef. Real ale decent enough but for real fans it’s a short safe walk the the awesome hamlet pub The Fox at Fox Corner.

Scaffolding up but it needed a paint job. Last time we stayed there was a hint of dampness in our room and that’s been sorted out now with the fascia improvements and in all fairness the price was lowered to compensate.

All the staff were absolutely marvellous. Welcoming friendly and efficient A special mention for Emily The restaurant and bar are good and it’s an interesting building with a good location The bed was comfortable

I was disappointed with the room Did not think it was value for money The bed was comfortable and it looked attractive but it was very small. I had the room to myself so I coped There were just four hangers one of which was broken on a hat rack. There are no decent size draws. I was there for Two nights 6th and 7th for the celebration of life and had some baggage as I was helping organising it. My friends in another room had much more space.

Room was clean and modern. Bed was super comfy. Plenty of parking spaces. Although i arrived in the evening very tired after attending The AIG Women's open, there was a super outside patio area to enjoy a drink and relax. I've known this hotel for along time and they still maintain a high standard

Arriving at the hotel shattered after a long day at he AIG Women's Open, I can't think of anything as i was only awake for 3 hours of my stay.

Room was good facilities were as expected, all toiletries in room were good, bed extremely comfy. Staff very friendly and bar and outdoor facilities were fabulous.

Only 2 disabled spaces, air conditioning would be a bonus particularly as it was 29 degrees or fans I rooms. And there was a hole in floor near radiator in the room with carpet put over it creating a hole and very uneven surface, as someone post surgery for a broken ankle found it dangerous and very painful every time I fell in it. Lots of stairs to rooms if I'd known would of asked for room with less stairs due to disabled traveller.
