This was our third visit to Percy Arms and for its convenience to Grange Park Opera it will not be our last time You are welcomed with open arms by Neman and his team and South African owners are well versed in the finer details of providing high standards. The room,No1,was spacious with a muted warm decor. The mattress pillows and duvet were quality and of comfort. You were provided with an expresso coffee machine and surprisingly a Dyson air conditioner. These features including high quality toiletries more than support its five star rating. The breakfast menu provided a number of choices including a full English breakfast and avocado tomato and egg on toast to accompany muesli yoghurt and fresh fruits This place is a class act with exceptional service all at a reasonable price More

On checking in we were asked for our breakfast preferences; South African cooked, English cooked, continental, poached/fried egg on avocado were some of the options. We didn't have lunches but ate there both evenings = excellent! Well-prepared, quality ingredients that were well presented and tasty, representing good value for money. We were expecting a Surrey-sized portion (i.e. small and grossly overpriced,) and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and amount. Best of all, they have their own-label bitter on pump at 3.9% ABV. Staff were friendly and helpful, whilst remaining extremely professional. Although it's right on the roadside and about 50m from the railway, our room (at the front) was well-insulated and we only heard one or two over-loud vehicles.

The pillows were over-soft and quite hot and sticky (first warm weather in the season.) Had we reported this at the time I've no doubt that we'd have been offered replacements. My bad.

We travel to the area every month and had been recommended to try The Percy Arms instead of our usual hotel. The food at dinner and breakfast was good, the bar area nice and the room very pleasant.

We were unlucky enough to be in the last available room next to a woman who’s hobby seemed to be door slamming. It certainly jaded our view of what should be a lovely peaceful stay in a country pub as it was incessant. We mentioned this to staff when we went down to the bar for drinks and dinner. They seemed unsurprised and said they were aware of her already but they were not keen to approach her in case she complained about them! Staff seemed sympathetic to the situation but their approach to this problem has put us off staying again unfortunately.

Very comfortable room, huge, and everything you'd need. The breakfast was fantastic, and the dinner options (it's a working pub restaurant) were great. Very friendly team, and as hoped, was good for jumping on the train for work in Guildford, as the station is just over the road from the pub, and 2 quick stops into Guildford.

My room was above the kitchen, so there was some noise until gone 11 30, however, you sort of expected that. The staff then going outside after work could be heard sat outside chatting. Nice for them after a long shift, but for me needing to sleep, it kept me awake a little longer than I would have liked.

The wonderful Landlord/Owner... who had great passion and knowledge. The incredible meat locker, full of 'home cured goodies' and origional South African recipes The comfortable room, and walk in shower The ambience amd magical exterior. It was too cold for a BBQ but I can imagine they would be fantastic, under the canvas roof over the decking, with a view! We would recommend the Kumusha Chenin Blanc a South African wine encapsulating the complexity and intensity, of its homeland.

You would be silly to miss a visit!!

Room (5) was large, well appointed and very clean. The room was well isolated from the busy restaurant. The breakfast was of very high quality with the option of a tasty 'South African' varient of the Full English.

Cooking smells permeating into the room. A problem not specific to this property, but that needs to be rectified throughout the industry - a shower cubical with very smooth flooring that becomes lethal when wet; not helped by an absence of handholds in the shower cubical to stabilize slips and falls. Simply fixed by a non-slip mat or wooden platform.

A great place to stay for a few nights. Excellent food and wine list. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Easy parking. What more could you ask for. The restaurant is full pretty much every night which tells you something about the quality.

Breakfast isn't served until 9.00am at the weekend. We knew this and they happily made takeaway breakfasts for us.

booked for my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary and it exceeded mine and their expectations. From the moment I booked and called up asking for some special request it was so smooth. The staff were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make the stay special. Part of the request was a dinner booked whereby myself and family arrived as a surprise the staff went out of their way to sort this out so much so it brought my dad to tears - thank you so much to Shane and all involved. The rooms were so tastefully decorated and my dad said it was only of the biggest breakfasts he had had in a long time. They will definitely be back to stay again.

Couldn't fault anything.

Very comfortable room adorned in pictures and memorabilia of South Africa, reflecting the origins of the family who run the premises. Popular restaurant, no doubt due to the provision of good food. Ample portions too. The quality of the food was also reflected in the breakfast.

Similar to all B&Bs and hotels these days, there's a trend to provide clients with thick duvets that are totally impractical in the summer months.

We chose the Percy Arms because the menu had good vegan choices. We weren't disappointed. Our evening meal was excellent. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. The shower was good, too.

The check-in process was strange. i had to fill in the breakfast choices for both of us before I could have our room key. More importantly, I had checked that we would be able to keep our bikes inside, but we couldn't bring them in until late evening.
