Harbour Hotel Guildford

Staff were super friendly, at check in and the restaurant. We ate in the evening on the outdoor terrace and although the meal took nearly an hour to come, it was very nice, and we all enjoyed our dinner (we each had a very generously portioned starter plus a side and that was definitely enough for us!). Mattress in the rooms were very comfortable as was the pillow, and our rooms were quite and we were not disturbed.

For a 4 star, it didn't feel as high end as other 4 stars I've been lucky enough to stay in, the shower for example was fine; hot but nothing more fancy that our one at home (i.e. it was a small square shower with sliding doors) - clean but not luxury. Two other points of feedback, which would have been great - I'm very keen on recycling and would rather not throw recyclable waste in the general rubbish, some facility to dispose of more ecologically would be welcome! Also no loo brush! like a nice clean loo (which it was at the start of our stay) but like to keep it that way :-) Sadly children not permitted to relax in the spa with us (they are 11 and 13 and well behaved) although always welcome in Swiss or French spas when we've stayed there.

The Hotel is located in a central position in Guildford close to shops etc.. Very stylish and elegant and above all clean. The staff are very professional, exceptionally courteous, smartly dressed and eager to help in all areas of the hotel. There are a few trainees around but lovely to see they are being trained correctly. The room was very clean and modern with all the necessary extras one needs (no minibar though). Security is very good and access to various areas restricted to hotel patrons only making one feel safe. We did not use the restaurant as we were there for a party but if the food at the event was anything to go by, then great and breakfast was superb. Likewise we did not use the spa.

If there are any negative comments for improvement, then we would recommend that the bar menu choices be increased. We were also surprised regarding the charge for the hotel carpark underground. considering it was a municipal CP above costing us 2 and a half times more. Admittedly it was more secure with key card barriers, but hey! In the restaurant at breakfast, please put some pads on the chair legs as moving them to get up etc caused a loud screech across the whole eating area. A tad pricey but you get what you pay for.! Otherwise Great Stay!!!

staff were wonderful, especially the Reception & Bar Staff. very helpful & respectful. Bathrooms were new & clean! Breakfast had a great selection of cooked and cold fare, which was great and value for money.

Rooms were a little tired, decor wise & I bruised my leg several times on the bed bases as the mattresses moved! No fridge, which was not expected and disappointing. There were no bathmats, which I think is dangerous, as stepping out of the shower it made the tiles wet and slippery. there was a wooden board next to the bath, but not fit for purpose to absorb water & stop slips. Also, to have to pay extra to use the Pool was in my opinion an outrage! £10 for one hour, is not acceptable. if I book a Spa Hotel I expect to at lease use the pool.

Reception staff were extremely nice and helpful Room was nice and quiet Lobby and Bar nicely decorated with a nice atmosphere in the evening Beds and Pillows were comfortable Presence of a working desk to sit and work on my laptop

Shower cubicle is small Presence of the bathtub was consuming most of the bathroom area. There are no porters in the Hotel to help with the Luggage, as upon check out I have requested this service and one of the nice Staff females from the Reception came up to help, which made me feel guilty for asking. This was not the job of a Female Receptionist

My daughter gutter is vegan & gluten intolerant The buffet breakfast for her was very poor. No vegan alternatives for a cooked breakfast . No plant based yoghurt to eat with the fruit/nuts/seeds No vegan cheese/meat alternatives for the continental food No gluten free cereal or plant based milk On both days she had gluten free bread toasted with spread , which I think they went out to buy on the first day as it took so long to arrive Very poor service considering we were asked about dietary requirements at booking

The only think that put my wife and myself off, was the fact I have paid the breakfast the night before and once we got the hostess desk before entering the restaurant she said we were NOT on the list… which was not the real issue… My concern was the fact that the petite hostess with dark hair said she was going to ask for the manager’s approval to let us having breakfast, but it took too long before she decided to make her way to her line manager, so then after 10- 15 minutes of waiting for her reaction, I went myself to the reception to sort it out with the reception manager… I could have rated the highest score for your hotel but the careless attitude of your hostess, let your customer service down and all the efforts any other team member gave to provide a great service experience was ineffective as an overall experience.

The hostess attitude on that Sunday morning. Inattentive, careless and genuinely showed that she doesn’t like her job.

Central to town and The GLive theatre. Lovely bedroom and bathroom. Bed very comfortable. super walk in shower. Reception staff were lovely and even gave me a free breakfast as way of compensation for the parking problems I had.

The only think I didn’t like was the parking. It was a nightmare. First you have to park outside the hotel and run into reception to get a token which will then let you into their car park which is around the corner from reception. was just told to follow the road round, but wasn’t told whether to turn right of left!! maybe instructions should be a little clearer!!

Almost everything. The reception staff are exceptional, they make every arriving guest feel special as well as being efficient and knowledgeable. Room was big and comfortable, great bed and good aircon. We loved the bar restaurant area, it was buzzing from breakfast to midnight but always comfortable with good food and reasonable prices. Location ideal a few minutes walk from the High St.

Would have scored 10 if the signage to the hotel was better and car parking arrangements were simpler.

Great reception, bar, staff and rooms. Central location is a bonus and parking available either in the official hotel car park which is secure, or the G Live next door which is an open air and cheaper. I opted for the official, and the lift takes you straight to reception or the floor your room is on.

Good facilities, only minor but it would have been nice to have the ability to cast/use firestick or google chromecast for the TV - wasn't able to change the input options on the TV. Like I say, only very minor.

Although we had a "King "room, it was designed with a wheelchair in mind, so that anyone over 3 feet tall would struggle with the bathroom. Check on the taxi companies that you use. The pick up was booked at 5pm for a 6 o'clock pick up, it arrived at 5 past 6 and we missed our train. The driver also ripped us off with the price, charging £15 for the short journey to the train station. He had no meter, the journey from the station to the hotel by municipal taxi was £8.70
