Hotel has been done up since I stayed 4 years ago and also rebranded from the Corn Hill Exchange. It is SO much nicer now. Lovely staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was great value for money. Good portions and cooked well. Really easy to check in. Really easy to check out. Was asked twice during my stay if I needed anything. Felt really safe here too. We came for the weekend for a festival in Glynde Place - was easy to get from here and back with no drama.

Absolutely minor - the mattress had a small dip in the middle but it did not spoil my sleep or stay at all. Perhaps one to think about replacing in the near future.

Nice hotel/restaurant/pub, friendly personnel, good food, spacy room, comfortable bed.

Instant coffee at breakfast. Surely that can be better. Internet didn't reach my room.

This is a VERY charming small village where most of the retailers are small independent shops and only a few big chain shops - and then in smaller and more discreet versions. The hotel is located in the town centre, with check-in in the pub and with the choice of entering the hotel through the pub or a separate entrance, only a few steps from the carpark.

Being on the ground floor, I did experience a bit of noise from people coming and going late at night (between 22:00 and midnight), but funnily enough, I never heard a sound from the pub it self!

Breakfast was good quality traditional English breakfast and included filter coffee. There was also cereal, fruit and fruit juice. At £8.95 this was very good value as I would not have got this at local cafes! Staff were friendly and efficient. I liked my deluxe single room. Have stayed here many times. Like the high ceilings and light fittings. TV directly facing bed. Nice dressing table. Spacious walk in shower.

All good but a bedside light for reading would be good as I couldn’t really read in bed easily.

The staff were exceptional. The room exceeded expectations I will definitely book again. My only comment was the downstairs ladies toilets needed attention. Food excellent, location too however some clearer instructions of how to find the car park would be very helpful:I drove around the one way system several times and only spied the car park throughthe High Street alleyway

Couldn't fault the Hotel apart from signage for 'The Crown' car parking and ladies downstairs toilets

I stayed in a deluxe single room twice, and also in a double standard room on one visit. My most recent visit I stayed in room 15 which was cosy and full of character. The quality of the deluxe single rooms was better than the standard double in my opinion, and I was really pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommodation. I checked in later than planned and a member of staff phoned to check I was ok due to the bad weather which was a really caring touch. I've stayed here 3 times so far and the room was far nicer than a local big chain hotel I stayed in.

Nothing.

The staff and location were brilliant. We unfortunately didn't get a car parking space at the hotel but top marks to the council as there is a large car park within a few mins walk that costs nothing! Room was comfortable and had everything we needed once we asked for an electric fan as it was rather warm. Breakfast was yummy.

We had a twin room and although the twin beds were a good size my mattress had a slope feel to it and with the heat (can't be helped) it was the worst nights sleep I've had.

We booked a superior twin room which had lovely comfortable beds, a television and tea making facilities. The room was clean and spacious with fresh towels placed on our beds. The bathroom would also be ideal for elderly guests as it was spacious, the shower was open plan, and a conveniently placed stool for those who may struggle to stand for long. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the pub itself was clean, modern, with comfy chairs and decorated with attractive clocks. There were also drink specials on offer such as a single Gin for £2.95. We enjoyed a good breakfast and there was a vegetarian option for me which was very tasty. We would definitely return to The Crown in future when visiting family. Many thanks.

The only downside was the fact that the Wifi did not work. We were already in bed at this point and the bar was closed when we discovered this. Other than that, we cannot fault The Crown at all!

The staff were excellent - very attentive and friendly. The dinner and breakfast we had were both very good. We changed to a family room at the last moment and it was adequate for the two days we stayed. The rooms are nicely decorated as is the pub itself. Nice friendly atmosphere too. Although they only have a few car parking spaces we never found parking an issue.

I suppose staying in rooms connected to a public house in a town you should expect some noise and the first night was quiet noisy. The mattresses were very soft and the sofa bed really could do with a better quality mattress. The room itself was very clean but the bathroom could do with additional cleaning attention - mainly around the shower end of the bath.

We booked a standard double and added to the notes that we’d like a quiet room away from the high street. It turned out that the quieter rooms were at the back and were the slightly more expensive ‘deluxe room’. When we asked if it would be possible to move - happy to pay the difference, the manager moved us with no extra charge. We also asked if we could check out a little later as we wanted to get ready for a wedding in the room, we asked if we could check out a bit later and they let us stay an extra hour and a half, no charge. Was so impressed with how friendly and accommodating they were.

Would’ve liked some soap for the bathroom (a bar, rather than the little plastic squeezu bottle.)
