Somerville House

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this beautiful b and b. We received a very warm welcome and the room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and it was lovely to have the choice of a very good range of food, including the cooked option. The location was ideal for visiting Hereford and the surrounding area.

The only negative thing was that we'd booked 3 nights, but were only able to stay for 2 in the end, due to circumstances beyond our control and were unable to transfer the 3rd night, which we'd paid for in advance, to a later date.

The house was lovely. It was warm, and well lit. there was free and adequate parking, and it was well positioned for exploring Hereford City and the county. The king size bed was firm but very comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well equipped. The breakfasts were fantastic, with fresh fruit, cereals, cooked and porridge options, all presented very well, and promptly.

Our standard double room was a little short on space, but adequate with a very generously sized separate en suite bathroom.

The off road parking was good and it was easy to fin Somerville House. Convenient for Hereford Town Centre. Hosts were really helpful with suggestions of where to eat. Fresh milk on arrival was a lovely gesture. Room was comfy and had everything we needed.

Our room was right at the top of the house, up two staircases, which was ok for us but might not suit everyone. We're both quite tall, so we found the restricted headroom up there to be an issue and had to be careful about not banging our heads.

Lovely hosts who gave us a lovely warm welcome after we had a long and late drive. Minibar was a revelation! Local ciders and wines, fruit juices etc at reasonable prices. Good location for our needs. Good parking. Breakfast was made with local produce and lovely fresh fruit including berries! Definitely recommended. We will be returning!

Bedroom got a little hot overnight - but there was a window that opened. I tend to sleep hot so a separate top sheet to the duvet would have allowed me to throw off the duvet and just sleep under the sheet. Breakfast bread could have been more exciting. But honestly I’m being VERY picky!!

Friendly hosts. Good size room with hair dryer etc Tea coffee making facilities. Biscuits muchappreciated. Small fridge. Bed linen and towels spotless. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Lovely garden to relax in. Wifi and car parking available. 20 minutes walk to town where there is array of things to do and see. Would definitely stay again if in the vicinity.

Fabulous stay. The house itself was huge and beautifully decorated. Our room was spectacular, overlooked the large and very well maintained garden with a hint of the cathedral in the distance. Room was vast with an incredibly comfortable bed. Super powerful shower and all amenities you may need were provided. It was also pleasantly quiet for a b&b, often you can hear people pottering about but we didn’t have that problem. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Couldn’t recommend it more and would definitely be back.

The bedroom was a good size with seating for watching TV. Breakfast was lovely. Fruit, juices and cereals and full breakfast if wanted. The owners were very friendly. There was a downstairs lounge in which we could meet our family

Nothing really. Perhaps if you did not have a car it was not all that easy to walk to the main road with having to keep crossing the road as there was no pavement on part of the road.

Lovely old house in a perfect location for visiting my home town. Very comfy bed and room in general. Great shower. Fresh milk for the fridge (plus honesty bar). Hate warm (or cold) UHT milk in hotel rooms.

There is nothing not to like. It would be have been good to have EV charging but I'm sure that will come. A destination charger (with fee) would be great as Hereford isn't (currently) very EV friendly.

Could not fault Sommerville House at all. Excellent stay, we stayed at top of house spotlessly clean and comfortable. The guest information book was very comprehensive best we have seen. Breakfast was excellent, cereals, fruit, juices, full cooked breakfast, toast, teas & coffee. Well catered for everyone. Great hosts,

Nothing, could not fault it.

Great location on outskirts of Hereford, lovely view from room window of town and black mountains in the background. Met by the owner and she explained everything and made sure we understood, bed was very comfortable and plenty tea & coffee . Had a mini fridge in room with various bottles which you could purchase , it was a great idea having the prices printed on a sheet of paper . So it made it easy to decide wether to purchase or not, Owners we’re brill and can’t fault the breakfast
