Staff were exceptional. Extremely friendly solicitous and attentive. The room was clean with ironing board/iron which was unexpected. The bed was very large (super king?) There was a nice quiet ceiling fan which helped to circulate air but did not overcome the problem of heat regulation. (See below). The food is pub style but generous servings and and very tasty.

As usual, bed had only a duvet which meant it was either too hot or too cold. Providing a sheet would have given us at least a little more ability to achieve a comfortable temperature. The soap/ shampoos etc were very basic, no tissues and cheap toilet paper.

Fantastic staff, with excellent service at the bar and restaurant. Good, well priced food. Really comfortable matress on the bed and a decent bathroom - the shower was hot and powerful. Lovely grounds and well-maintained gardens. Good location, just off the A40.

I'd have liked to seen some more evidence of the hotel's attempts to reduce its environmental impact - maybe sounds silly, but nowadays I expect to see the 'we will only replace your towels if you leave them in the bath...' and refillable soap for the shower. It's such a lovely location, it would have been nice to have some literature about the area, with recommendations for walks and other activities. Loads of the food was local - I think there could have been more local beers.

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were very friendly, efficient band accommodating to our needs. The choice of food on the 3 menus was outstanding with the A La Cart menu being particularly delectabl.

I thought, at 13 pound per person, breakfast was over priced.

Staff were great, helpful and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. room great. Olde worlde building with modern facilities. free car parking. Food very good. very large garden seating available. Great views.

I could not fault the staff or the accommodation. However word of warning to all potential visitors. BOOK DIRECT WITH THE HOTEL and NOT Booking.com. YOU SAVE A LOT OF MONEY. ALL ROOMS BOOKED DIRECT HAVE BREAKFAST INCLUDED. BOOKING.COM CHARGE YOU £12:95 EACH. Booking.com reneged on their price promise also and when I asked for the matter to be escalated the customer services Team refused to correspond with me. I supplied all the information Booking.com asked for as far as I could and asked them to confirm with the hotel which they refused. SO BE WARNED BOOK DIRECT WITH THE HOTEL. SAVE MONEY.

The hotel had an excellent location for our visit and a large car park for guests. Staff were very polite and helpful. The food was overall good, and we liked the fact that they used locally sourced ingredients.

Unfortunately, I didn't read the hotel background in full and missed that the hotel was dog friendly. I am apprehensive around dogs. This was totally my fault. We had dog hair on our bedroom carpet, which wasn't ideal. I didn't want to make a fuss because it was a busy Bank Holiday weekend. This property is old, so very squeaky floor boards are part of its charm, but not good when you can't walk around your room quietly.

Beautiful surroundings. Lots of character. Clean and comfortable and local activities in walking distance. Amazing food and staff.

Needed a tiny bit of updating In the suites. Bedroom and bathroom were updated and modern and comfortable as well as clean. Living room had a crack in the upper window, some peeling paint higher up the chimney. Kitchen was plentiful but outdated. Cupboards need a refresh. Fridge was like a freezer and froze some of the food. Extractor fan clip broken so hanging down. All lamp shades were a bit 70’s and a simple modern change would make a big difference. Overall lovely place and would benefit from a minor upgrade.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was also good, with plenty of choice for everyone. The setting was also lovely and picturesque. And for me the added bonus, was that there was 2 x charging points for my EV.

It's little bit of attention to detail, but my room, needed a fresh lick of paint, and just an overall tidy up. The room was very very warm, and the fans weren't adequate, so maybe invest in air con units, which would be more comfortable in the summer months. And for me, new beds are needed, as mine was a bit rough and squeaky, every time i moved.

Old Court exceeded all of our expectations! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The building is very charming and we enjoyed the timber ceiling in our top floor room very much! The Tudor Hall was lovely to have breakfast in and the garden was very beautiful to sit in whilst we indulged in some great ciders from the bar on an amazing sunny day. I honestly would say it's one of the best places we've stayed due to it's great facilities, amazing staff and beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to visit again soon.

The one and only thing I would say caused a slight issue was that the room was very warm. We did make sure the radiator was off and had the window open to let fresh air flow. We think it was warm due to it being a top floor room and we were very appreciative that the room had a ceiling and standing fan to help with this issue slightly.

Staff cheerful & helpful, meals good plenty of choices of food, general location good, Beautifully cared for old building with considerable character. Lovely spacious well cared for gardens with plenty of seating and sunshades over tables. Service for drinks outside excellent.

Room was very small only standard double bed - but a king size would not have fitted. Shower room small but well fitted and decorated. Room was hot but although safe and no rain could not leave windows open because of noise from heat pump/ air con unit just under window. Variable speed fan on ceiling but only could be used at night on lowest speed because of noise it created.

The staff were really friendly, I was arriving late and they called to check everything was ok. The building is stunning, it was such a unique feature to have the original beams of the property in my room! Bathroom modern and clean, lovely little pub downstairs, only wish I had had the chance to order dinner.

The ONLY thing was that breakfast cost ~£13 - I know that it is served to the table and made fresh so I do understand you are paying for quality but in all likelihood I would have ordered egg on toast with a coffee, which I didn’t think would be worth that price. Luckily tea and coffee is provided in the room.
