Great b&b with free parking in close proximity to local shops. Cafe bars, restaurants, tunnel beaches just round the corner. Violet & George (the hosts) so welcoming & hardworking to make sure you have the best possible stay & always on hand should you need them. The b&b was spotless clean, lovely spacious rooms & lovely breakfast room. Great selection of breakfast items to choose from the cooked breakfast was delicious cooked by George.(Thank you) Violet there to greet you each morning with a lovely friendly "good morning" (despite her feeling under the weather) to take your order always had time to ask after each guest & make sure they had everything they needed. We had a fantastic stay at Palm court thanks to Violet & George & would highly recommend them. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now if we come back Ilfracombe after being so well looked after. The hosts were lovely, friendly and clearly work hard. I can honestly say it was excellent value for money as there are very few places that would charge what we paid. The breakfast was cooked to order and there was such a great choice. This was appreciated as we were there for 5 days 4 nights. The location was great for walking down to the harbour and we had free parking on site. I had left some items behind and the host was very quick to get these back to me. Our bathroom was on the small side but the overall room size was really great. Loved our stay in Ilfracombe and our visit to Woolacombe beach and we were lucky with the weather.

Violet and George are such a lovely kind couple. They work so hard, to make your stay happy and comfortable, nothing is to much trouble for them, such a lovely hard working team. Couldn't recommend enough. We had the superior room, it was , quiet, very clean and comfortable, with a great king size mattress, and a sofa and a TV. The windows opened so we could get cool air in. There were plenty of plugs in the room. And a chest of draws and rack to hang clothes on with plenty of hangers. Kettle with tea and coffee milk and biscuits. We got an iron n ironing board and a fan when we asked for one, no problem. Breakfast was delicious, George is a great cook, fresh tasty produce, cooked fresh every day.and fresh filter coffee or tea. Decafe available. Cereals, bread to toast , preserves, fruit, juices, and condiments you helped yourself to. Violet even got some bread and Cereals that where gluten free in for my daughter.and she said sausages were also GF, she didnt try them, but they were good meaty sausages, my cooked breakfast was delicious as was my daughters omlettes.

The only things that for me pulled the review down was .. the bed was hard .. the expel air in the bathroom stayed on .. there was no cut off ..that meant if anyone in another bedroom left them on .. you could hear them all night .. the road and people outside .. was noisy due to no double glazing .. My apologies for having to write this .. but as a seasoned traveler with many hotels visited .. I have to tell the truth .. and as the manageress said .. " It is an old hotel .. and may be not my style" ..

We stayed 2 nights. There was off-street parking. Violeta & George were gracious hosts and working hard to update an older property. The breakfasts were excellent.

Google Maps directed us to the rear of the building… NOT Palm Court’s fault, but just be aware you need to go around to the front to Wilder Rd. Palm Court is not on the beach, nor can you see it, but you can walk there. The town of Ilfracombe has seen better days, but it does have some dramatic coastline. This is more of a “budget” property and location.

The staff were extremely welcoming and very chatty and made us feel at ease. The room was very clean and presentable and the tea/milk etc were replenished daily. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of choice. We can fully recommend the full English, though vegetarian and vegan options were available. Great onsite ,free parking. Given key with 24 hours access. Lots to do in the surrounding area and would definitely revisit. Highly recommended!

Might recommend an anti slip mat in the bath .

Hotel was in a great location, very clean, room was big and had plenty of storage. Bathroom looked fairly new and very clean. We were greeted on arrival and owner/staff were very welcoming and happy to help. Breakfast was made to order from their menu with a selection of juices, cereal and fresh fruit available. Food was also very good. Far better in terms of service, cleanliness and value for money than any premier Inn I've been to. Would happily return and highly recommend.

There was nothing I didn't like

The hotel it is on middle of everything, bus stops are closed, beach is basically next to you. Violet and George they are friendly and very welcoming. The room where we stayed was very clean, tidy and spatious. During breakfast always they were checking if we had everything and the breakfast was very tasty "thank you for George chef". I would recomend for everybody who wants to chill or wants to relax. Massive thank you for them 😘

The room is spacious and the bed very comfortable, the wifi signal in the room was great - which is a plus for people who need to work. Violetta and her family have been amazing! Very friendly and always happy to help and to give you recommendations. And the breakfast...delicious! The hotel is located in the city centre, you have the sea front and loads of shops and amenities at walkable distance. I highly recommend!

Nothing everything was brilliant

Very close to the beach, staff very helpful and friendly, excellent cooked breakfast, very clean and tea coffee in rooms, plenty of milk, bed very comfortable and quiet location in front of hotel, car parking available.

Nothing, although a few steps to go up to entrance and room on 1st floor which didn’t bother us and staff offered to take our cases up, but if you have restricted mobility may be an issue, ilfracombe is full of sea gulls so plenty of poop on the car.
