Fairlight Lodge

We stayed for 3 nights from 21st June. The pre arrival communication was excellent and the info sent by Karl & Jude regarding local info, restaurants & places to visit really helped us plan our few days away. On arrival we were greeted by Karl, friendly, polite & covid rules observed meticulously. Our room was Hunstanton on the 1st floor. We were a little worried initially as we looked out over the road, however it quickly became apparent that this would not be a problem, as the double glazing did the job. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The storage was more than ample and the bed and bedding so clean & comfortable. Our en-suite was perfect. We'd been sent room info, wi-fi password, instructions as how to work the TV etc. prior to our stay, which was really helpful & a lovely personal touch. There was a fab tea making set up, with good quality tea bags, coffee & biscuits. (replenished daily) Fresh milk was supplied per room in a flask collected from a small fridge in the dining room when required and kept the milk cold. Breakfast was staggered to meet Covid restrictions quite rightly and we were able to pre book our breakfast slot. Breakfast was amazing & plentiful and an extra round of toast & Jude's homemade marmalade (which was perfect, the best I've tasted in a long time) or another tea etc. was never too much trouble. I opted for full English every morning, as did my Husband & we were not disappointed with the freshness, quality or presentation. Sausages & bacon were tasty & perfectly cooked. Poached egg done to perfection & the beans, tomatoes & mushrooms were perfect. In my view a 9.5 out of 10. Add black pudding to the options & it would be a straight 10 for me.

There was nothing we could say we didn't like.

The location for my reason to use the hotel was perfect. The breakfasts were excellent with a good choice that included home made jams and marmalade. The sausages were some of the best I have tasted. The rooms were very clean and well decorated and the garden was a very pleasant place to walk round and sit and relax in. The owners and staff are very pleasant and attended to any queries efficiently, and the room being on ground level is great if you have any mobility issues. The value for money is extremely good and far exceeded my expectations.

The only very minor gripes I had was the bed was firm, which I like, but a bit lumpy, which with a bad back caused me to wake with a few aches, but to be frank I expect that every where I go. I didn't see what roosted in the trees over night but my car needed a good wash to remove loads of bird poo when I got back.

Lovely house, we stayed in the rooms downstairs separate from the main house overlooking the garden, big size double room and perfect for us with our 6 month old baby. Karl and Jude were lovely and so accommodating we really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful garden and very quiet area.

Location is a little out of town, even though it's a nice walk through the park, unfortunately Kings Lynn doesn't have any option for dinner or eating locally, apart from fish & chips, which was great the night we arrived. However, all restaurants are in the middle or the North of the town centre. Not anything the hosts can do about that, but we found it tiring walking 15-20min back in to town to eat in the evening.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was great also as we had a large selection to choose from and was cooked to perfection. Our room was clean and comfortable overall. We would stay here again

The extractor fan was broken in our bathroom and the sink was tiny, so in order to have a proper wash in the morning, you had to put a towel on the floor. The mattress on the bed was a bit too firm for our liking (understand you can't cater for all though) and the towels were a bit rough but I suspected they were brand new as I found the plastic tag in the corner that holds a label.

Lovely B&B, 15 minutes walking distance to the town centre, 15 minutes driving distance to Sandringham, loads of shops nearby, free parking, and yummy breakfast. Karl was very friendly and really helpful, giving us a lot of information about King's Lynn and not only. Our room was very nice, clean, with entrance from the garden and even a fan was provided it was no need to use it - we went during a very hot weekend with 30-32C temperatures but the room temperature was just right! We really loved our stay, thank you, Karl!

An excellent breakfast, made to order and prepared with care and attention to the customers specific needs. Nothing was too much trouble! The room was exceptional, very comfortable and well appointed. Excellent view of the well kept garden, with a private and exclusive use of a patio area outside the room if required. In a quiet location within easy walking distance of the town through a delightful park. This is a gem of a property with very caring and attentive staff! Full marks for for the whole team!

The whole experience was delightful, so no negative comments were applicable to this visit. All the staff team were very caring and looked after us well throughout our stay! Would definitely recommend this property for a short or long stay!

A fairly short notice booking due to health issues but proved ideal. Pre Arrival communication is excellent with lots of information on places to visit, eat etc. Karl met us on arrival in the car-park and showed us to our rooms, a very helpful host as he carried or case upstairs, so glad as I having a full knee replacement in a few weeks. The room was small but cozy with an en-suite. The facilities were what you would expect tea, coffee, water and biscuits. The single beds were "bliss" and the bedding excellent, pillows are a personal thing but both my wife and I slept well both nights. Breakfasts, a choice of "slots" to spread the work load for Karl & Jude, but the choice is excellent really good quality items prepared for the Full English although I missed Black Pudding, very tasty and well prepared definitely not a "fatty" breakfast. A good selection of cereals and home made jam / marmalade to add to your toast along with tea or coffee. Really enjoyed our stay, and for me Karl is a great host the way he interacts with his customers with, always, a smile on his face. Highly recommended with thanks

Nothing really, all fine.

Just outside town in quiet area. Conveniently a short walk from the railway station via a park, think it's a 15-minute walk to bus station, easy to find, room seems small as only a single but certainly adequate for a few days. Smart TV. Facilities good, comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee provided. Breakfast, certainly a good breakfast plenty to eat. Vegetarian/vegan options (but need to be pre-ordered). Owners will provide suggestions for attractions and days out in the area. Private entrance to room.

Certainly nothing to complain about. Don't think there's much in the immediate area, but the owners provided suggestions for eating establishments in town.

Stayed here in a twin room with my mother for a special trip for her. The hosts Jude & Karl couldnt have been more helpful right from the start of the booking accommodating my request for a downstairs room. When we arrived Karl greeted us outside in the car park & helped us in with our bags. He took time to chat & showed us into our room as well as explaining where to go for breakfast the next day - he made us feel very welcome Our room was comfy & cosy with a lovely ensuite shower room and all the facilities we needed for a great nights stay even including special touched like a chocolate treat 😋

There is nothing not to like about this place

The B&B is about 20 mins from the centre of King's Lynn through a pleasant park. There were spaces for four cars but loads of spaces on the unpatrolled street outside. We had a room in the old house, with a window onto the noisy road. However, the noise reduces after ten, and the double glazing was good. We had an ensuite facility in a room just big enough. Jude and Karl are very friendly, and sent a summary of places to visit. Breakfast was very good.
