We arrived after 10:30pm & we’re greeted by a friendly female who checked us in & showed us to our residence (We were in room 10 of the house across the road). Upon entry, the lobby was clean & brightly lit. We entered the room which was spacious with everything we needed for the evening. The shower was fab & the complimentary toiletries were a bonus. Unfortunately we left before breakfast time as we had somewhere else to be but I have heard reviews which appear to be very positive towards the food on offer. Something which we will ensure we sample the next time.

Nothing to not like about this lovely establishment

Nice people, very good food. Powerful hot shower. Complimentary toiletries. Simple check in. Good range of beers and lagers and a pleasant outside area to sit.

A lot of traffic noise and had to have windows open as it was so hot. Black mould on sealant in shower and some of the edging along base was warped and showed potential for leakage. Shower drain was slow and came close to over flowing. The live band sounded good but if you were in one of the rooms in the actual Inn, and not in the annexe across the road, you could hear and feel the music. They did indicate that there could be noise so this is more of a comment than a complaint.

Great food and definitely value for money. Can highly recommend the carvery night! The staff were polite and very efficient, especially as it was so busy. The breakfasts were very worth the money and very filling! 😁 The room, although small (not a problem ), was clean and had clean bed linen and towels/toiletries

Location was over a well-used main road from the actual inn. Only parking for 3 cars there. You have to leave your car over at the main building of you don't get a space. None of this was a problem just making people aware especially if you have young children.

Dinner was excellent quality and a fair price. Breakfast was excellent, too, with a vegetarian option catered for seamlessly. The Anchor Inn has a lovely roof terrace with interesting conversation-piece decor. Staff were exceptionally helpful and contacted us very rapidly when they found my partner had left some IT (a tablet) in the room and asked us how we would like it returned to us.

Only 1 minor point which was that the kettle in the room (the room was sited in a lovely, quiet annex) was difficult to fill from the tap because of the relativizes of the kettle and the sink but we managed!

The venue was very homely and the staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The evening meal was superb as was the full english breakfast. The Anchor was obviously a very popular venue judging by the amount of people staying overnight and those enjoying a drink and evening meal. Very good value for money all round.

Dissapointed I had nowhere to hang clothes up in my room, If I had been staying for more than one night I would have commented on the fact, but for one night it didn't matter.

The room was very comfortable for an overnight stay. If you wanted to stay longer would say it was a bit on the small side. Bed was very comfortable. We were there to meet friends for a meal. The evening meal was good and competitively priced. Breakfast was ok but not very comprehensive. There were two small boxes of cereal on the table Rice Crispies or Coco Pops. Not a cereal for adults. Not a lot of choice for hot, full English and that was it. Not asked how we would like our eggs cooked. Tomatoes were not cooked just plonked on the plate. Glasses on the table but were not offered juice or water.

The breakfast service and choices for breakfast. May be a menu would help. We felt that they couldn’t get rid of us quick enough.

The room was located across the road from the Anchor Inn, which seemed a little strange at first, but was almost perfect for us, quite with a little road noise which can't be helped, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and very clean. We had a meal at the pub on the first evening which was excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Breakfast was a little disappointing, not much choice and haphazard service, which was a shame based on previous reviews. The room we stayed in got really hot, despite having both windows open, however there was a fan available, something we weren't told about until we had suggested it upon booking out. So the moral of the story is, ask about items which you might need to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable, no askie, no useie.

We were looking for a last minute deal to get away for a few days, plus the ability to bring the pooch. Although an extra charge is added for a dog, it was still reasonably priced overall for a getaway in the holidays. The room was clean, welcoming and had everything we (personally)needed - the bed was huge as it’s two singles zipped together. The staff were helpful, attentive and really friendly - the kindness of the staff is what really made it. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and always served with a smile, and the dog was spoiled (she now gives us dirty looks when we put down her dry dog food :D ). The pub appeared popular, it also had a decent menu. The location was nice with some lovely river walks close by. It was easy to travel out to the coast (30odd min to Hunstanton) we had some cracking days out in North Norfolk. Nothing was too far if you have a car.

We didn’t really dislike anything - it’s more of a suggestion… Two thick pillows were a bit too high and just one was too low - perhaps a thinner one for the bottom would be perfect. Hopefully one day (when the time comes) Smart TVs could be added to the rooms so that customers can log into their Netflix accounts, etc - Freeview movies really aren’t great these days, unfortunately. Close the window at night because the property is situated on the main road and it gets quite busy early morning.

Breakfast was fine. I didn't eat there in the evening as the meals looked a bit heavy for me. Parking is probably not entirely assured as the restaurant seems very popular, particularly with people with unnecessarily large cars, but I didn't have any problem squeezing my little Suzuki in. Wi-fi was excellent in my room but a bit dicey in the bar.

I had gone on a mini-trip to take in three race meetings. Unfortunately the hotel's wi-fi had parental controls turned on the vast majority of the time. This not only blocks pornography which no longer interests me,but also all betting sites and even the online version of the main trade paper. This was not ideal given the reason for my trip. There was a tendency for the pub to start shutting down early ( they were rather pointedly cleaning up at 9.00PM the first night I was there. It's more of a restaurant than a pub and they stop serving food after 8.00. You seem to be OK if there is a football match on the TV which there happened to be the other 3 nights I was there.

The staff in the morning for breakfast were lovely, they even gave my dog a sausage! Breakfast was very nice. Accommodation was clean.

The staff on the evening gave very poor instructions on where the accommodation was and how to find our room. The service was also a bit poor for our food and drinks in the evening. The worst part about our stay however is probably that the room was absolutely sweltering hot so we couldn't get to sleep for hours.
