Elegant and tastefully decorated. Comfortable. Our four poster bed was large and comfortable and the room was very attractive. The large bathroom was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

These are just some pointers: As our stay was on a Sunday, the restaurant closed early, so our (40th wedding anniversary!) supper was at 6.15pm but this couldn’t be helped. The evening menu was basically the Sunday lunch menu rehashed and the accompanying vegetables were a bit overdone. I’ve had better food, but the service from Ellie was first class! Breakfast was good - we chose it the night before - I would have preferred the avocado on my muffin to be cold, and the requested orange juice turned out to be a bottle of J2O orange and mango.

We have stayed on a number of occasions and love the location and facilities provided. The menu is excellent and varied so meets the needs of the majority. The choice of beers and wines available also very good. The staff very friendly. Will definitely return.

We specifically advised them of some allergy issues and there appeared to be no provision for an alternative sauce for example. Whilst the staff were very friendly, because they were so busy we waited some time for our menu choices to be taken even though a booking had been made. Some requests were forgotten. Our bill on leaving was incorrect - clearly someone else's so we advised what we had consumed over the two days and paid much more!! Will definitely return but will contact them ahead of our stay to discuss menu choices.

Great location, easy access to the room. Friendly staff, and a good hearty breakfast. Unusually we are asked to 'pre-book' our breakfast the evening before, which actually was a great idea, so all was ready when we arrived for it! Did not have an evening meal but would have liked to try some of the things on the menu.

We should have said at the time but the shower in the room wasn't easy to control and was 'hot' or not... Because of the location of the ground floor room we couldn't open the curtains without being seen, so maybe some 'nets' might help?

Room was well decorated with a good sized double bed. Shower was hot and strong. Room was quiet (in a separate block at the back.) Excellent supper in the pub that evening. Pleasant atmosphere. the garden looks a good space too but the weather was a bit too cold for us. Breakfast the next day was tasty, nicely cooked (not greasy, eggs with runny yolks, bacon lean etc.) and plentiful. And both accomodation and food were good value.

funny noise from the loo after I flushed it in the morning. my wife, who has a keener sense of smell than I have, could smell something on the sheets (dry cleaning??) a workman parked a van outside our bedroom in the morning and was coming and going, so had to keep the blind shut

The food was excellent as were the staff. and all the facilities were spotlessly clean. Absolutely no complaints there whatsoever. We were given a warm welcome and the staff even accomodated our early Dinner, and breakfast on day of departure.

The only minor complaint is that our room was in the annex not the main Hotel. It was perfect in every way ... with one exception. We love to hear happy staff....just not at 6:30am! Our room was opposite what we assumed to be the kitchen entrance. Likewise early morning deliveries/collections? our room was ground level and having a heavy van crunch across the pea gravel right outside the window took the edge off us giving a full 5 stars throughout. Having said that we would certainly stay at the hotel again, just request a different room! Everything else was as perfect as it could be.

Nice breakfast selection that included various versions of egg benedict and crushed avocado. Nice evening meal menu selection, albeit costly, but at least reasonably priced wine.

Shower lacked comvenient place to put shampoo shower gel while in shower and toilet roll just placed on table rather than on a holder. Evening food menu quite expensive despite the good quality, particularly when there was no alternative bar menu to have a modest meal/snack/sandwich option - and no local alternative venue to use for less formal dinning.

We had the triple room with shower, 2 adults and 2 kids, they both had a full size single and the king bed was extremely comfy. The room was very big also, so we didn't feel cramped. They allow dogs, there's an extra £10 cleaning charge per night for the furry ones. The food was truly amazing, the best meal we've had in some time and we eat out a lot. Friendly staff, a nice big beer garden and a kids play park over the road. I can't recommend The Bedingfield Arms enough if you are in that area. It also has Oxbrough House, a National Trust site, located next door to explore with miles of country walks.

There was nothing to dislike

Room 3 in the courtyard was excellent & totally suitable with our Labrador. Room was perfectly adequate & nice & warm. Shower cubicle was a touch small although my 6+ foot hubby managed but ventilation fan needs to be improved… great value for money though & restaurant food was exceptional x

Bathroom ventilaton needs improving which will sort out the mould on the sealant & paint peeling on the shower area ceiling

Lovely old hotel, quiet and a very convenient location. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Large garden allowed for eating al-fresco on warm evenings. Plenty of parking space and the room had everything expected, including a fan to help move the air about on the warm nights.

The room (number 9) was a little old fashioned and the en-suite shower lacked anywhere to put down toiletries, just needed a shelf somewhere (we moved a table from the bedroom to give us the surface). The showers cubicle was very small but acceptable, however the thing that let the property down was the terrible mattress on the bed. It was very lumpy and gave no support at all, we stripped the bed to put our own topper on the mattress and found it to be very old and stained. Even after turning the mattress and using our own topper, we still didn't get a decent night sleep (not helped by some warm weather). The mattress in room 9 is in urgent need of replacement!!

Good welcome, happy, friendly and helpful staff with a great room size. Extremely helpful for our family of four to stay in one room. The breakfast was fabulous with another happy server who had no problem accommodated another two grateful guests at last minute, thank you.

The mattress in the room was starting to give way and was not comfortable. There were no pillows provided for the two kids beds which we could have asked for but arrived late and wanted to sleep. The bathroom was really small for four guests, albeit two were kids, it was still a tight squeeze. Common areas (like stairs) could have been a little cleaner but that's being picky.
