We had breakfast in the tearoom downstairs served by the very friendly staff who also checked us into our room. The tearoom menu was varied and perfectly catered to our taste. The location was ideal for all of the places of interest and many restaurants, I would recommend the bus tour around Buxton which leaves from the pleasure gardens across the road from the hotel, also the guided tour of the Cresent.

Parking the car involved a bit of juggling due to time limitations on local parking, however ther is a longer stay car park a short walk away through the park. This only charges during the day and is free overnight as are the spots across the road from the hotel.

We booked a double room in the main building and the independent apartment. Both were nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen in the apartment was fully equipped with all the essentials, and we had plenty of space in the lounge. N6 is convenently located in front of the Pavillion Gardens and Opera House, and it's easy to walk to the town centre, pubs and restaurants nearby. Parking is available just outside the property. Staff are nice. We had a full English breakfast one morning, it was very tasty.

As it is a tearoom, you'd expect breakfast to be included or at least offered at a discounted price for hotel residents (especially as rooms are not cheap). Pay and display machines for the car park don't work properly, eat coins and don't accept card payments. Parking is permitted for up to 4 hours only. After that, you have to get some change and then place another ticket on the dashboard (even at weekends and bank holidays). This is obviously a Buxton council issue, rather than N6's. However, they could make an effort to offer parking permits for residents. Bedroom in the main building was warm and cosy, while the apartment was cold, even with the heating on.

This must be the best view in Buxton, overlooking the pavilion gardens and opera house. This room exceeded my expectations and was excellent value for money. Huge room with the added bonus of a tea table and comfy armchairs. Lovely big bathroom with a great shower. We always managed to park next to the tea rooms. Max stay during day is 4hrs (£2.50) up to 6pm, after this, it is free until 8am. We often got back around 4pm and putting £2.50 in the meter carried us over until 10am the following day, so we didn't have to worry about topping up the meter at 8am. Beware the parking attendant was out every morning! Lovely staff and an excellent breakfast in the tea room.

The linen, towels, surfaces etc were clean, however, the room could have benefited from a more thorough clean, particularly the shower head and carpet edges.

Lovely old building with quirky features and appropriate decor. Super comfy bed and pillows. Lovely view of the Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. Plenty of tea coffee and milk portions which I was happy about, it’s a personal bug bear of mine when the hotel is mean with these considering the overall cost. Smack bang in the centre so everything walking distance. Didn’t eat at the tea rooms attached although their cakes looked yummy A perfect overnight stay

Only public parking available. Free after 6 until the morning then 4 hours max. We just moved the car and parked elsewhere when the time was up but it was a very minor inconvenience

Very spacious accommodation and a lovely little court yard. Bed was comfortable and room was warm. Anybody staying longer would be able to self cater easily as the qppartnebt had everything you need. Brilliant location for the opera House. Breakfast not included in price but non the less was excellent and value fir money (full english). Would stay again.

Only a small point. Every hotel does it and with the being a tea tearoom as well I didn't expect any different. I'd love a selection of teas that include a good strong tea! Yorkshire tea please! The coffee sachets were not nice at all. Better coffee! As I said this is really picking at flies so all in all nothing to complain about

Central location, with amazing views overlooking the Opera House and gardens, from this second floor room. You can access room via the tea rooms when its open, or to the rear when it's closed. It's just a two minute walk to the recently renovated Crescent and only five minutes into the town. Lots of great places to eat on the doorstep - recommend the French brassiere round the corner in the Old Court House where we ate on Sunday evening. It does get busy, so recommend booking a table. The room itself has gorgeous decor, with a really comfy bed and spacious bathroom with powerful shower, soft towels and the usual available ( e.g hairdryer, tv, kettle with tea & coffee). You can also use the lounge on the first floor below. There's paid parking closeby - just opposite (max 4 hrs stay daytime) but free 6pm-8am. Would love to stay here again.

Shame breakfast wasn't included in the price, but easy to go downstairs and eat in the tearooms which does a great cooked breakfast, served by friendly and welcoming staff.

We got off to a bad start as the room we were given was not clean and even had dirty towels in the bathroom. However, the staff turned this round fast and offered us another room (Opera). This had views over the park and the opera house plus a large bathroom - a lovely room that matched the photo, so was actually what we thought we were booking. Also, enjoyed spending some time in the lounge and playing their unsual grand piano! Breakfast downstairs is good, though not included in the price.

The cleaning issue actually worked in our favour - we'd have been very disappointed if we'd stayed in the first room which was no better than functional (Crescent?) and not where we'd have knowing chosen for our anniversary. If you are over six foot watch your head on the door frames upstairs and the odd spiky chandelier!

The location, we were overlooking the park and the Opera House, was amazing, so pretty and just what you come to Buxton for. The bed and bedding was really comfortable. The size of the room was great, the chairs comfy and great to have the space to have them in the room. Loads of hangers - why are there usually only just enough for one person to hang up their clothes in a double room? The shower was fab and the bathroom a great size too, with a bidet!

The blinds didn't keep out the light, any noise or any draught. That meant I was awake before 7am both mornings and that was a real shame, having a lie in is one of the lovely things about a break and being awake BEFORE my normal time was quite frustrating. And, odd, because there are beautiful thick curtains in the bathroom but not in the bedroom! So, take an eye mask if you are sensitive to being disturbed by light - didn't realise I was but I assume I must be. My husband snored through the second morning, so must be me!

As the only guest that night, I was upgraded to a very grand room. Generous selection of tea, coffee and mineral water in the room. I also really appreciated the bookcase full of interesting books. Staff were friendly and helpful. I hadn't realised that breakfast was only available after 9am when the tearoom opened and I needed to leave early. Coffee and toast was made for me on request by the lady who came to open up. Brilliant location with lovely views from the room of the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens. Very convenient for the centre of town and the train station which was why I picked it in the first place.

Right opposite the opera house which was ideal for us lovely quirky room in keeping with the historic building lovely comfy bed the room had wooden beams and delightful old features like a small lounge area with a table and seat's and drinks facilities it was the highest room in the building room name was Dome . Tearoom below is lovely and welcoming and good food and cakes etc we had scrambled eggs on toast is not cheap though around £14 mark for full breakfast our stay for one night was £139-00 breakfast not included

Room was reached by a narrow staircase with low headroom wouldn't be suitable for disabled persons or someone tall unusual shape and low beams especially in bathroom need to be careful moving around the room A plus would be a small table in little lounge next to chair for putting drink & snack on also bathroom with bath shower his only hand held attached to bath taps ok by me maybe not suit all
