Dove Meadow

We loved our stay here. The location was perfect for us as we went for a hike at Dovedale which is around a 20 minute drive. John was very welcoming but left us to our own devices which was great. We particularly loved that there were pets there. It felt very cozy and like a home away from home. I have never had a more comfortable sleep - the bed was like a cloud. We then went to Alton towers the next day which is only 10 minutes away. Would definitely stay here again, we had the best time. Thank you

Nothing, everything was great

Good location, easy to find and parking was easy. Accommodation in general was fine.

The reason for booking this B&B was it offered what we wanted, single beds and ensuite. Unfortunately the bathroom was not ensuite, although it was allocated to us only, we still had to leave our room into a common hallway (shared with room next to ours) to access the bathroom. There was twin single beds but they were not standard 3' size, they were only 2' 6" wide, too narrow for comfort. Room was small.

We loved the peaceful location which was convenient for getting to Alton Towers in the morning, the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean, beds and pillows were very comfortable, fruit juice and water provided in the fridge along with tea/coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room, also a fan. The hosts were a lovely couple and made us a delicious cooked breakfast which set us up nicely for our day at Alton Towers. We also liked petting the wee dog. I can highly recommend this b&b.

A beautiful countryside location yet close to Alton Towers, Cheadle, and Uttoxeter. We had a very well appointed twin bed room with an adjoining private bathroom, with a kettle and fresh stocked fridge including bottled fresh milk, fruit juices and bottled water, and even an exceptionally quiet fan to help with the warm temperatures. Warm, friendly and very helpful hosts, and the exceptionally good quality cooked breakfast made it an altogether remarkable stay.

Beautiful location with many sheep right outside our bedroom. Very friendly hosts. Thank you John for being very welcoming and giving us a great shortcut to Alton towers. Breakfast was lovely and the kids really enjoyed the pancakes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

The only thing I would say and this is my personal preference so not everyone would agree. The bed was too hard for me as I suffer with my back, but my daughter slept like a log.

Everything is amazing at Dove Meadow! And we love the new member of the family little poppy gorgeous little fur baby and so welcoming! John too is very welcoming nothing is too much trouble. Amazing accomadation! Amazing breakfast ! So clean and everything what u need is there. Amazing view from your window aswell. We wouldnt go anywhere else. Cant wait to go back in october! 🥰

You cant fault dove meadow! Everything and every detail is spot on! Nothing not to like.

Everything was even better than we imagined it would be! Not only was it the perfect location for doing the Dovedale walk in the Peak District, but also really close to Alton Towers. It's a lovely peaceful place that felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was also a real treat! I personally don't like most of what you get in a full English breakfast, which means often when staying at B&Bs with my dad, he'll tuck into that, and I'll just be sat there eating some toast or cereal, haha. But here, I had what I think might have been the most delicious pancakes I've ever had in my life :D (seriously, thank you so much for those! They were so fluffy and delicious that it genuinely made my day to start off with that for breakfast!)

There wasn't anything we didn't like!

Everything! What a beautiful little place tucked away from the craziness of Alton Towers. From the moment we pulled up John was amazing, so welcoming. After a couple of minutes we felt like we had known him forever. Chatty, friendly, great with the kids, nothing was too much. The cabin was perfect and better than we expected. My two girls loved it and my eldest said it felt like a little home, they didn't want to leave. So clean and smelt lovely. Everything you would need (they have thought of everything) the smallest touches. The fridge had fresh milk and orange juice for when we checked in. Just really thoughtful. Breakfast-WOW! Do not under estimate the pancakes, they are defo worth having. Again my girls fully impressed. I had a veggie breakfast, was so yum. Everything positive that the reviews say is 100% true. Would 1000000% stay again. Thank you 😊

That we didn't stay longer.

Stayed at this place for three nights. The place was so neat, clean and quiet. The breakfast was superb and my daughter enjoyed the tasty pancake. I felt very relaxed coming back home. My two teenage daughters enjoyed being at the chalet. Great place to stay and very close to Alton towers, where we went two days in a row. I will love to stay here again next time we come to Alton and go for more walk. We went to the biggest farm cafe in uk. So much to see and buy. Loved it. John and his wife are lovely to talk to. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable.

This is our second stay at Dove Meadow. On our first visit we stayed in the separate cottage and this time round we stayed in the double room in the main house and had our own private bathroom and the doors that open up to the front garden . It was lovely to have the doors out to the garden . The house was nice and quiet which was lovely after a long day out exploring . The dining room area was available to relax in and there were a few board games available. A delicious breakfast was served there and the hosts were flexible in terms of when we could eat breakfast and they also kindly adjusted the menu for my partner who was on a meat free diet . John made some lovely pancakes! We enjoyed the occasional chat with the hosts in the dining area and they recommended a wonderful day trip to visit Thors Cave which we thoroughly enjoyed . The hosts were very warm and friendly and made our stay even better. We look forward to returning in the future .
