Really nice room, everything clean and comfortable with lots of amenities available. Staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms are in a historic Victorian building above a small pub where the breakfast is served. We got a delicious breakfast for very cheap. Location is gorgeous on a ridge that overlooks a green vista. Nice to stay out of the city centre but have easy access to the downtown by car or bus! I would come again!

There is nothing I did not like but just bear in mind that this is not an expensive place so could be perceived as basic if you have unrealistic expectations or are expecting something sumptuous ;)

Nice old building. Big bar/dining area downstairs with nice pub (chain) food. Large car park opposite with electric car charger. Convenient for the city - short walk then one bus. Rooms comfortable and clean. Staff really friendly.

I’m being really picky - bar was a bit loud in the evening (although, couldn’t hear anything in the room). The en-suite used ‘Saniflo’ type waste, so anytime you created waste water from sink/shower/toilet it was quite noisy and so was the extractor fan - not such a problem for me in a single room but I felt for other customers in the next rooms as I was up early both mornings!

The layout of the pub is lovely, plenty of seating inside and outside. Prices are fair and reasonable for the times. Food was lovely, well presented, and cooked great. Staff were more than accomodating. The room was well laid out with kettle, cups, coffee, milk, sugar, and tea. Kettle was also dry, with no residue water in it, which I really like. Cleanliness was also of a high standard throughout the room. The room was quiet and felt very secure.

I think the price that was paid for the room a basic continental breakfast at least should be included in that. All breakfast was extra, so maybe that could be a reconsideration for the future. That being said, we had breakfast, and it was lovely.

Room had everthing that we needed, bed was very comfortable, the only problem we had was that the bedside light on one side did not work. I did report this and they did put a new bulb in lamp but still would not work, didnt bother reporting this again as we were only there for one more night. I would like to say how friendly and welcoming Josh the manager was.

The two miserable young female bar staff that working on the Wednesday evening of our first nights stay.

The staff were lovely. The room was very big and bright. The bed was great, big, comfy and cosy. Tea and coffee making facilities were good and the location was lovely and Liverpool City centre was very accessible by bus.

Shoddy workmanship. Needed finishing properly in the bathroom. The carpets have had there day and was very grubby and stained. The plumbing made a noise everytime you ran water in the bathroom. I totally get it's an old building but just a bit more attention to detail would make it an excellent place to stay!

The staff are all really friendly and helpful. This place is a down to earth hotel with free parking right outside. The bed was comfy and a good size. We had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, with a kids option available - though we didn't bring the kids this time, we will the next time we visit. A great location for what we needed and for getting around Liverpool. Would definitely stay here again!

The curtains were falling off the hooks a little but my husband just popped them back on so we could close the curtains fully. Not really a big issue at all.

I love Childwall Abbey - I was a student at a nearby University so it holds very good memories for me . I love the nice friendly , welcoming and homely atmosphere . The bar has a lovely feel to it and the bedrooms are a good size. It has everyone you need - bar onsite , a lovely beer garden and you can eat here . Fantastic value for money . Close to other nice restaurants and bus routes to the city centre and beyond . I am looking forward to another stay in the near future.

The pub is in a lovely quiet area. Its leafy and overlooking a beautiful old parish church. The pub ( which is steeped in local history) has a nice atmosphere, with very friendly and helpful staff. I can recommend the pubs food, both breakfast and evening meals ( hotel guests get a discount, which is always nice!!). The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. With only 4 rooms in the place, the staff are never too overwhelmed to offer personal service. In short, I would stay here again if in liverpool.

When you flush the loo, the macerators can be a little noisy, but only for a few seconds. It was hardly an issue.

Breakfast - All you can typically have for English breakfast, they were serving extra portions for what we needed for our young daughter - a bit customized. Very well mannered people and very well run, happy smiling faces all around all throughout. Room- Very comfortable, no complains, everything was working and has typically everything you need. Very clean. Bed- Very Comfortable, I am a bit fussy about pillows felt a bit hard - but that's me.

Everything was great

Comfortable bed, spacious room. Great view of courtyard and included tea and coffee facilities. Staff were lovely and the building itself is impressive, though definitely showing it's age. Couldn't hear pub downstairs. TV in room was good and had enough powerpoints for us.

Plumbing was loud, but didn't bother us when we were sleeping thankfully. Not close to public transport (except a bus that comes every 30 mins) but we knew that when we booked.
