Dinner was excellent each night, generous portions, superb service by very attentive staff. Breakfast was also generous and staff were attentive. The free private car park at the rear was an additional bonus with secure entry/exit. Our alternative room was an ‘excellent’ room at the rear of the Hotel and it was as the name suggests, excellent. Beautiful bathroom with bath and shower, large comfortable bed and peaceful meant we had a great stay. Will definitely visit the Hotel again.

Stayed for three nights. Check-in was excellent, done on-line in advance so limited work to do at the desk. First night was not great owing to being at the front of the Hotel and noisy traffic kept us awake. The receptionist in the morning was not ‘natural problem solver’ and simply said ‘management will be in at 5pm’. That evening a change of receptionist heralded a change of approach. We were offered another room but not until the second day, problem solved.

The Cawdor is in a brilliant location in the middle of Llandeilo. You are able to leave your car in the free secure car park, and easily walk around town to explore the many local shops, some of which have artisan products. Llandeilo is also a great base from which to discover Carmarthenshire. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We were greeted as we walked into breakfast (which is always nice) and our order was taken efficiently. We had the full Welsh breakfast, which was delicious and very filling.

It was very hot during our stay, which made our top floor room very hot. Not much the staff could do, however, the provided fan just kept sleeping bearable.

Very comfortable bed. Nice large room, extra small bed for a child. Excellent meals- and plenty! Good service in the Dining Room. Hotel very full due to it being Music Festival Week.

We were told that we had a courtyard room but NOT the fact that 18 steps in the open air to get up to it. This is about our 8th time to the Cawdor and first time for this area of the building. Having got into the room in the pouring rain I could not manage down again at 90 years old and struggling with a stick!!! Beautiful bathroom but no grab rail. High sided bath not suitable for me as I could not climb in.

The hotel, staff, food and service were excellent. We also liked the location of the hotel, in the little town of Llandeilo. The town was quite busy with live music (a lovely, talented, young female singer) taking place in the afternoon in the pub across the road, which we could hear as we sat in the outside area of the hotel. There were also lots of craft shops and tea-rooms throughout the town. In July there is a music festival taking place there. Within five minutes you are in the countryside and we went to the lovely located Talley Abbey, which is set in peaceful countryside. Returning from our excursions, we retreated to the comfortable lounge areas of the hotel and we chose to spend a few hours there every day just relaxing and reading and watching the world go by, with a lovely glass of wine. The only downside was the temperature in our room....the weekend was very hot and humid and unfortunately, we only found the fan in the wardrobe after an uncomfortable night. Needless to say, the following night was much improved! I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel and look forward to returning very soon.

The room temperature ... but this was a minor thing which was easily put right the following morning.

Staff were friendly and helpful, but needed to wait for a manager to arrive on more than one occasion Breakfast was very good. Location good if you need to be central.

The parking is not easy. The route back to the hotel is steep, and quite difficult with luggage. It wasn't clear that I could have parked out front and unloaded. I couldn't unlock the safe in my room, and the staff didn't know how to do this, until a manager came. eventually I was told to try the code 123, but this didn't work.

Great location, booked partly because it offers EV charging in the large secure car park which worked well and was very convenient. I was happy to pay the £20 fee.

The bar closed quite early (before 11pm) on the Friday night, even for residents. Our room (#5) could have benefited from extra lighting near the seating and a tilting TV you could see from the sofa.

The location is in the centre of the town. My room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. I ate dinner twice in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, with a bit of a 'buzz'. The bar and lounge were also comfortable and relaxing. Dinner was good on both occasions and there are dishes featuring local produce. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Prices were typical for the standard of hotel.

No complaints.

the ambience of this hotel has the perfect balance of understated elegance. A blend of character, provenance with modern and comfortable touches. I loved everything about this stay. the staff were exceptional. the bar man at front of house ( who had given such a warm friendly welcome when we had stopped for coffee and snack that we booked a few weeks later). the chef produces plentiful and exceptional food. the bar and restaurant are great rooms for dining but our room was exceptional. I can’t thank the team enough.

there was nothing that I could find fault with, from the easy and plentiful parking, quirky layout, approachable staff, well appointed rooms.

The room was clean and comfortable. We were at the front of the hotel which was a bit noisy early in the morning but the traffic was very light at night so we had no trouble sleeping. The breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. We ate in the restaurant in the evenings and the food was excellent and again plentiful. The staff were all very friendly and attentive.

This is only a small gripe but there were two occasions being celebrated in the dining room by a large number of people one night of our stay and as it has hardwood floors and no soft furnishings the noise was very loud making it difficult to hold a conversation.

Restaurant food very good. Location great for visiting two different coastlines. Staff very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Car Park entrance road/turning into car park and exit road all extremely tight - don't take a big car! Our room was off the courtyard next to the hotel not in it. So as it rained while we were at the hotel it meant you got wet/took an umbrella going for breakfast/dinner which was a tad inconvenient.
