The breakfast was excellent and the sous chef was very friendly. We had dinner and lunch at the pub and all of the meals were very good; nicely presented and the portion sizes were large. The menu was not too big and not too small, with a very good selection of options. The waiter in the evenings was very friendly and helpful too as was the lady who dealt with our check in. The 3 night stay in the inn exceeded our expectations by a long way. Some previous reviews have been quite negative and I fail to understand why. We would highly recommend The Kings Head Inn and will stay again hopefully in the not too distant future.

On the first morning the coffee and tea was served from a pump flask which did not keep the drinks hot. I requested pots of tea and coffee on subsequent days and this was presented further more. Thank you

I loved everything about the quaint King’s Head Inn. The staff were fantastic they were so friendly and welcoming. After a rest on the excellent super kingsize bed we went down to dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to find not only proper fish (sea bass) on the menu which was delicious but I was soooo pleased that they served actual potatoes too! It’s so hard to find a good pub that serves spuds! Thank you. :) We also had a lovely breakfast before we left and again we were surprised by the choice and very reasonable cost. The Team at the King’s Head make this pub a must for visitors. I wish them well :)

The overhead shower. I don’t like getting my hair wet! :) The bath was very slippery for a person of a certain age. Maybe a hand rail on the side might help or a non slip mat for safety reasons.

I did not have the ground floor room I'd hoped for, but staff considerately allocated the closest first floor room to the stairs - and it was really comfortable. Although I'd booked a table for dinner, the bar was heaving due to rugby on tv and a local town festival, so staff helpfully served our meal outside, and both choices were not only delicious but beautifully presented. Breakfast was cooked from a pre-order, and the team had added fresh fruit & yogurt as I'd requested. Staff were constantly attentive and courteous.

nothing - excellent stay

The breakfast was very good; however only cereals and a cooked "Welsh" breakfast were on offer although there was also toast, butter and jam/marmalade, but no cold meats, cheese, fruit etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I liked the fact there was plenty of space to put belongings and in the bathroom there was ample space to put a wash-kit etc. The bed was very large and comfortable and the room was quiet. As the building is old, there are creaking floorboards, which I didn't mind (some people may not like). The location of the King's Head is great - right in the centre of Llandovery!

The building is very old, quaint and full of character. However, the stairs upstairs were quite steep for less able visitors and the door to the room was a bit difficult to open and lock.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The beds very comfortable with spotless, white linen. Excellent bathroom with toiletries and large, white towels. Tasty, well presented cooked breakfast. We appreciated the gluten free toast ! Marius is brilliant !

There wasn’t anything to dislike but a more interesting tea/coffee selection in the room would have been appreciated. Also fruit and yogurt could be included at breakfast for those who cannot eat cereal. The tea and coffee at breakfast was not strong enough.

Check in was easy and friendly. Room size was good with comfortable facilities and good en-suite. Evening meal in the pub was great and fairly priced, and breakfast was good with full cooked breakfast available or you could just choose whatever bits of the cooked breakfast you wanted if a smaller one was required (plus cereal/juice/tea/ coffee/toast). Dog friendly (2 dogs) in room and bar. Located in the centre of the town, near other pubs and shops, and a few minutes from the castle.

Nothing major, just some broken tiles on the bathroom floor which let it down a bit but didn't affect the stay.

Staff were nice. Receptive to any problems (eg a car was blocking the car park exit, and the staff member resolved the problem quickly). I had a large room with kingsize bed - which was very comfy. My room - and the en-suite bathroom were really clean. It is an old building (with an interesting history) and could do with some fresh decorating in parts. Also, because of its age, its floors are creaky. Free on-site parking. Dining available on site. The breakfast was included in the price.

The food was o.k., but nothing special.

The staff there were so helpful and friendly. Everything was immaculately clean and in perfect working order, including superb shower, hot water & bathroom. Food was excellent too. The property is a local hub for both locals and visitors alike, so you also feel the culture of the town. The building itself has history and provenance, and yet is immaculate. A great range of well kept real-ales too. Nice safe clean immediately adjacent car-park too.

Wi-Fi wasn’t available throughout, but considering the thick solid stone old walls that’s understandable. This wasn’t a problem though as the local phone signal is already on 5G !

Check in was quick, staff are amazing, friendly and extremely helpful. We stayed for 2 nights, eat at the hotel on the first night, we enjoyed our meal so much that we eat there on our second night. Breakfast was pre-order for cooked but cereal, juices etc were help yourself. The sausage were amazing, locally sourced.

Nothing really, if I had to say something it would be that I would have liked my coffee hotter!! But that's just my preference.

This would be my fourth stay in the Kings Head Inn and my second under the current management. I love the old word feel of the bar, old oak beams, wood fireplace’s and stone walls. Its a cosy old world pub feel with plenty of character.

Very difficult to be critical about this place. it would have been nice to have a fridge in the room and the two real ales available, albeit Welsh breweries, were not to my taste. That said, there were other drinks at the bar which I enjoyed and my reason for needing a fridge was resolved by the reception staff agreeing to look after an item for me in the kitchen fridge.
