The pub is quirky and full of charm, great food and drinks options, the room was spacious and had comfortable beds and a clean bathroom, everything worked well and we had all we needed. A special mention must go to Alex who despite being busy with pub customers went the extra mile to help me out with some laundry and a drying rack and was good humoured and a great ambassador for the Bear Inn!

The only minor issue was the road noise, not a lot that can be done about it but as it was a hot night we had the windows open and the blinds banged against the window frame every time a car or lorry drove past the building. Maybe some softer fabric window covers would help to absorb more exterior sound and not bang so much.

We stayed for 3nights we had the room with 3 separatebeds., Food and drinks were good. Good beds. Had a very nice stay. Very friendly! There is also a fantastic bakery down the street! For breakfest you can go to the Tudor place or the breakfastplace down the road.

We parked the car on the local parking. It is payed for 8am till 6pm. So every morning i would get up at 7am and pay for 4h. But it was 1,7pounds, not expensive.

The Bear is a quirky old building in the centre of town which offered nice accommodation. Whilst they don’t do breakfast the evening meal was fantastic. We had breakfast at one of the local cafes which was fine. The staff were really helpful & friendly which created a lovely atmosphere and made the stay really enjoyable. The town is small but ful of history including a ruined castle so nice to walk around.

Not sure I can think of anything really

The location was perfect and was really close to some really nice cafes and EV parking. The room was HUGE. I booked a deluxe room and we got the loft and it was like we had our own apartment. The bed was also extremely comfortable

The ceilings were really low. They were okay for me as I’m only 5”2, but my boyfriend is 6”2 and had to keep bending down

I loved the location, right in the heart of this exceptionally pretty market town. The room was quirky and charming and the bed was very comfy . Staff were helpful and easy-going and made me feel very welcome.

It was fine, because I knew it would be the case but breakfast isn't provided (although there are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms). There are several good local cafes and it wasn't a problem for me on this particular trip but on another occasion, I might choose to stay elsewhere if I didn't fancy going out to find my own breakfast.

The staff and food were excelent well stocked bar and great outside seating area when the sun was shining well appointed and a great place to stay I will be back.

It would have been good to be able to have a breakfast but good cafe on other side of the road which was good value and excellent quality so not a disaster!

Although the room was small (barely room for our luggage) it was surprisingly quiet by 10pm. There was a public parking lot very close to the Inn that was free from 6pm - 8am. We arrived at 5pm and left each day before 8am so it worked out well. The dinner at the Inn was quite good and the staff were all very nice and helpful.

great location in town, lovely pub, really friendly staff overall a great stay

more an observation than complaint as there was nothing to complain/dislike about the place. noise from the busy road was a little bothersome when trying to sleep but due to the age and nature of the building the hotel can’t control this - we just used earplugs so recommended others to do so!!

Lovely, friendly staff who were very welcoming! We ate here both nights and the food was great and very reasonably priced. (The garlic bread with cheese was 10/10!) The pub itself is quite quirky and cool. The bedroom was clean and had everything we needed for our two night stay! Parking is just over the road too.

Lovely energy, quirky, thoughtful style. Clean and very comfortable. The food was delicious in the evening, with lots of veggie options, and the staff were welcoming. All in all it was a really lovely place to stay.

The telly in the room was very small and had limited reception e.g. we couldn’t get BBC1 or BBC2. The WiFi was excellent, though 🙂
