I travel to the area regularly with work, and this was the first time staying at The Swan, Loddon. I arrived very late in the evening and was made to feel welcome and at home by the staff. My room was well presented, with good facilities and information of the local area. You can easily tell that this restaurant/pub is at the heart of the village community, and was made to feel welcome when in the pub/restaurant. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and could accommodate to dietary restrictions very easily. I stayed for evening dinner and the food was excellent - can easily tell that the Chef is experienced and designs a seasonal menu that is relevant to the demographic of the venue. Will definitely be staying here in the future when I return with work.

As I am small in height, closing the main blinds was a challenge! You do get outside noise at time, but it is not noticeable and doesn't disrupt your nights sleep!

Modern clean room, separate from main building. Didn't realise this and thought we'd be in main building which looked nice on site, but still nice. Village feel with everything you need near by.

Public access through hotel Car park, passing right next to our rooms. Sound proofing needed as woke by people walking by early hours on the gravel. Covered roof outside above front doors leaks causing a loud leak if rain is heavy. Clean glass on this roof. Small things make a difference, like you care about the details. Makes customers feel like they matter to make their stay the best you can. Details are essential.

The location was good being in the centre of Lodden and just a short walk to the lovely marina on the river Chet. Our room was a good size and clean and tidy and the bathroom was large with a spacious wetroom shower. Breakfast was good except for the unusual "Beer and Treacle Bacon"

The restaurant was not open on the evening of our stay so we had to go to another establishment about a half mile away. Luckily the food there was very good. During the night a fault developed in the fire alarm resulting in a constant beeping noise which was annoying but also comforting in the knowledge that the fire alarm system was working properly.

🐕🐕 friendly. Staff are very friendly & helpful. The superior double room is positioned outside of the pub and is very spacious and quiet. The bathroom is very small but neat with a walk-in shower. We found the bed too small. Given the size of the room, it deserves a super king bed (6 ft). If bed size is important to you, double check when booking as singles may prove more comfortable. The bar is lively on a Friday & Saturday, which we liked. You can eat in the bar or there are 2 separate restaurant areas. The menu is limited, but the food was nice. Breakfast was very good, but again, it is limited in choice. It was lovely to have the Sunday papers and plenty of time to read and just enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Our dogs were very comfortable everywhere in the property, which is a good indication of atmosphere. As soon as we arrived, we were allocated dog beds and bowls, which was very helpful.

Only the bed size.

Taking a trip with my 10 year old, just staying for the night before moving on to the next location. He loved it! Helped by the fact he could have a bath with a cup of tea while watching a film on tv. Very comfortable, great atmosphere as a band was playing for a couple of hours.

It would have been nice to be able to have an evening meal, it wasn’t available on the night of our stay. Or even just light snacks menu. The menu is definitely catered for adults only, which would have been an issue anyway. But shop across the road

Check in was very efficient. My room was in a building separate from the pub, with only slight noise when people left the pub at closing time. The room was a good size and well decorated. Tea/coffee/toiletries were provided. Car parking spaces are outside but are shared with the pub and other buildings so can get busy/full. Breakfast was nice with a small cold buffet of juices, cereals, fruit and yoghurt and a hot food menu with a couple of different options. Food is available in the pub and is well worth trying, but booking is recommended.

Some slight touch ups required on the walls

We were attending a funeral in Lodon and decided to stop the night as it was over a 2 hour drive back home. We had a lovely room, with a large en-suit. Very nice and comfortable double bed. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even lending me a phone charger as I had forgotten mine. Breakfast was also excellent and the full English was served piping hot. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

No complaints. The whole experience lived up to other reviews left by previous guests.

The room although not required by us was a disabled access room. It was spacious and very clean with all we needed for our 4 night stay, even a room fan. The breakfast choice was good, prepared and presented well although the Treacle and Bear cured bacon was not to my taste. We only ate in the evening on one occasion which was excellent. The location is superb with a very good bus service with stops just outside the Swan.

The following comment is for the management of the Swan: The shower rail and spray head require adjusting or changing as it is loose, making it difficult to point the shower head in a comfortable direction and reduce the water spraying the towel rail and the larger floor area. Also the basin tap is very stiff and could do with adjusting or changing to enable easier operation.

The location of the Swan is excellent being in the centre of the lovely village of Loddon. The room was spacious, lovely linens and beautiful towels and lovely decoration, colours in the room, furnishings, curtains/blinds. I had asked for a disability access room, ours was on the ground floor in an annex, with a lovely wet room shower room. The shower was excellent. There was also a drop down arm rest/support next to the toilet. Plenty of good soap/shower gel/shampoo in fixed containers. The parking/large car park was immediately outside our room, with very warm weather, it was still, possible to have windows open all night without being too disturbed by cars entering and leaving. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is delightful in what appears to be a recently renovated barn.

The carpet in the room, whilst excellent quality, was grubby. Having a pale grey carpet in a room that is directly off an entrance door from the car park is not ideal. Attention to detail in the serving of breakfast could be improved. I had to go through to the bar area to find someone to get butter for my toast. The breakfast room was full of guests at that time. Half of the tables in the breakfast room have very low sides, making it difficult and uncomfortable to get your chair in close to the table without banging knees or thighs. Whilst the wet room was lovely, my mother has very poor sight. The glass shower screen was very attractive but was quite dangerous for someone with not so good eyesight to actually see, particularly if the room is steamed up.

My wife and I are mature cyclists. We travelled around Norfolk using two Sustrans routes. We stopped at five different hotels about 45 miles apart. Each hotel traditionally catered for other markets. All the staff we met on tour were friendly and helpful and all the hotels were clean. This accommodation was brilliant for us. We could store our bikes securely without hassle. I think this is a family run/ small business. It was the best value on our tour.
