I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the One Hotel in London, and I must say it was a far cry from my previous stays at their counterparts in Miami, Dubai, and Los Angeles. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this visit would be nothing short of disappointing. Firstly, upon entering my room, I was met with an appalling surprise. The room was not even prepared for me properly; it was as if they gave me someone else's room. To make matters worse, there was a repulsive sight of rotting meat and cheese, along with a bottle of champagne, all meant for someone else's birthday. It took a staggering four phone calls to the front desk before they finally removed it. What made this stay particularly disheartening was the fact that I had informed the hotel no less than ten times that it was my birthday. Yet, they failed to make any effort to make it special or acknowledge the occasion in any way. Considering I was at the hotel for less than 20 hours, I thought of inquiring about an upgrade to salvage the experience. To my astonishment, they wanted to charge me a whopping $500 for the privilege. It's safe to say that was the last thing I needed on my birthday. To add insult to injury, the hotel's robes were not just luxurious, but disastrous. They left lint all over my clothes, and it took six phone calls and a painful 30-minute wait for a lint roller to arrive. I was almost late for my flight due to this ordeal. All in all, my stay at the One Hotel in London was an absolute disappointment and a stark contrast to the excellent service I've received at their other locations. I expected so much more, especially on my birthday, and was left utterly underwhelmed. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this establishment anytime soon.
