Apollo Hotel Kings Cross

Our room was at the back of the hotel so it was reasonably quiet. It was well decorated and clean and the beds were comfortable. It's really handy for Kings Cross. The lady who let us in and gave us our keys was really friendly and helpful.

We had a twin room and the beds were narrower than the standard 3 foot wide. Like a lot of hotels, when you try to fill the kettle from the sink, it doesn't fit! When you walk in the front door, you wonder what you've let yourself in for as its so narrow and cluttered but once you get to your room it's good.

Very central location. Within 5 minutes walk to the Kings Cross St. Pancras station, which covers most metro lines in central London. Perfect location to get around London easily with the metro. Also, within 30-40 mins walk to most places as well, so if you don't mind walking (like myself) then the location is perfect too! Friendly host. Came earlier than normal checkin time and was offered a different room that was already ready, but I chose to wait for the room I booked and the cleaning of it. Great gesture though. Clean bed sheets. Clean bathroom. Stayed 3 nights and they changed my towels ones, which was fine. A great find and value compared to the money I paid for the hotel. If you travel alone , want a great location, don't spend too much time in the hotel, and don't expect anything fancy but a place to sleep, then this is your place.

The walls might need an update with the paint. You don't really know how clean the room is, since the floor is covered with a carpet, which does not look super clean, but also it looked okay. Be aware you need to call the receptionist upon arrival, but they respond quick, and they will meet you at the front door within 1-2 minutes.

I was a bit weary of this property given the bad reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised. The room was just like the photos, it was very clean and the staff were nice. I had an issue with the hot water, which was quickly resolved with a smile. The only downside was room has no window, but honestly not an issue for me as it was clean and great location. I will come back

The hotel is a stones throw from Kings Cross. In a relatively quiet street. My room was clean and spacious (very unusual in budget hotels), It was in the basement so limited view of a wall (but I was offered one on the 2nd floor). It was warm with a clean & tidy toilet & shower. At lunchtime it took a minute or so to get any hot water out of the showeer, but when it did arrive it was very hot! Shower was easy to regulate though. This was never going to be anything more than a base to do a couple of London walks each day with the theatre in the middle & was perfect for that. I've done 6 or 7 similar trips in the last 3 years & this is by far the best hotel I've found.

A bedside light would have made life a fraction easier.

Very short walk away from King’s Cross station which was ideal since we had an early train to catch the next morning, but I would happily stay longer if we had been staying longer in London. Wi-fi, I love that there were biscuits included with the tea/coffee! Comfortable bed, our room had an ensuite.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. I have seen a lot of bad reviews about this place but I think some people are a bit precious.

Very helpful staff who at short notice allowed us to check in after midnight. When we arrived there was a note on the door with 2 mobile numbers to call for late access and the chap was there within 1 minute while the phone was still ringing. Much appreciated. Lovely large room for 4 people at the front on the 1st floor, ideal for our family. So close the Kings Cross/St Pan with the public transport and all food/drink options you could want - about a 1-2 min walk, yet it was a very quiet street so no issues with sleeping. Nice good quality bed linens. Can't fault it really, especially for the price paid and requirement to check in after midnight.

Hotel located in great location very under rated only 5 min walk to St Pancras Train station and 2 mins to the underground. We had issue with room booking before we arrived but the owner sorted the accommodation for us once we arrived. He was very helpful always had a smile on his face. and a phone call away. We would definitely stay here away.

The bed was comfy but room is quite small for 2 people if you are taking a suit case we only had school bags which made it easier.

I checked in and was left to my own devices (happily), in a smallish but comfortable and clean room

Being on the top floor with no lift was not perfect but I only went in to check in, then once more later on to sleep, so it was no great hardship. I had a cold at the time, otherwise it wouldn't have been a hardship at all.

Room was clean and well equipped, with tea and coffee making facilities. Beds were comfortable. Light and airy with French doors in our room.

When we arrived at 2pm we were told our room wasn't ready and then discovered that we had been allocated an incorrect room. Was eventually resolved but only because I persisted. However the staff member on reception did his best to assist. The bathroom was very small and the fan didn't work but was clean and plenty of hot water. 3 out of 4 reading lights had no bulb.

Great location across the road from St Pancras Much better than I thought it was going to be for the price! Facilities were good - iron and ironing board in room, water, kettle, shower was warm and nice, beds comfortable - I would stay again for a night or two when out in London for sure
