Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel

Fantastic location. Nice hotel that made you feel at home. Good family room although the double bed was a bit small

Squeaky floorboards gave a lot of noise when people in the room above us were walking around

Staff are friendly and approachable hotel is clean which is no easy task considering the age of the building well done

Bed and pillows a bit on the firm side but that's just personal preference

I loved the old Victorian home look and feel. It's beautifully decorated in all the common areas. It sits in a quiet neighborhood filled with homes, but with a 5 minute walk to the main street, you can access many places to eat and shop. There is a McDonald's and a pharmacy there, and we went to both. The hotel staff were all very helpful with the best ways to get around London, including how to use the underground. They also set up taxis twice for us when we needed them. The Swiss Cottage underground is less than a 5 min walk from the front door of the hotel, and this made getting around London extremely easy. Our room was fairly comfortable, a good size, and included a sitting area. Our bathroom was updated with all the modern amenities.

Because it is an old Victorian home made into a hotel, it has old wooden floors. The people in the room above us did A LOT! of walking around, which made a lot of creaking noises in our room. Also, being from the US, we're used to air conditioning in every room. These rooms, as with everywhere else in England, don't have air. We did, however, have 2 electric fans in the room, and used them. We are also not used to windows without screens, so to open the window meant the outside had complete access to the inside. As we toured London though, we noticed no one had screens on their windows. I guess it's just not a thing over there.

I stayed for 3 nights with my 85 year old mother, we had the superior twin room. It was lovely and spacious. The bed was very comfy & slept well. There was a bath. It was bright & airy, extremely clean. The staff were very helpful & friendly. There is a lovely sitting room & bar with a grand piano. The lady at reception was very helpful about storing our luggage & booking a cab to the station. The lift was handy especially for my elderly mother. Would definitely recommend & will stay there again.

The quality of the breakfast wasn’t great, only average. Also the biscuits with the tea & coffee making facilities were a bit basic.

Great customer service from all staff - very welcoming. We have stayed here a few times and will continue to do so.

Rooms are a little dated - could do with freshening up but rooms were still lovely.

The staff are exceptional and the location is terrific, perfect for staying in London. I thought the beds were very comfy and I really liked our room as we had a separate sitting room adjacent which my husband liked as he could watch sports while I watched a movie. I also liked the quietness of the location and I slept really well.The teas and coffees in the room were perfect. I have had the cooked breakfast on a previous visit and it was very good value. Also the room felt clean and fresh every day I stayed at the hotel so very good room service.

I think the furniture in our sitting room was a little dated and it could use some modernizing. The lighting in the sitting room too seemed outdated.

The proximity of the hotel to the Swiss Cottage Underground station is the prime reason that we booked this hotel. This was an excellent choice -- especially for a very early morning departure to LHR airport. The rooms were well presented with beautiful furnishings and a very comfortable bed. Would that other BW hotels could offer the character and comfort of the Swiss Cottage location!

The basement room was somewhat disappointing (bars on windows) and the uneven flooring in the room and hallways did present some mobility problems.

Hopped off the tube & it was less than 5 minutes walk to Hotel. Beautiful decor,victorian in style,played a little on the lounge piano during our stay,more like a grand house than a hotel which is why we booked,it had personality! It has a bar & you ring for attention,with plenty of seating. Close to all amenities & a bus ride to Camden Market took 20 minutes. Close to Finchley road,another tube st, so easy access & all manor of cafes bars,shops etc close by. Hotel was clean friendly & welcoming,even commenting on our wedding attire.

Just being slightly picky bathroomwas a bit small,& lights did show through the door at night. We didn't eat there as we had other things planned. Nothing was a problem really,we were attending my daughters wedding taking place at London Zoo,& this hotel provided an excellent location,Taxis were between £12-£15 not too steep at all.

Breakfast was excellant. Staff were ready to provide anything you needed. Very friendly. The hotel had a lovely english charm and an amazing location.

The first night we did not have the room I wanted and it was uncomfortable with a small bed for two. They did move us and they acknowledged before check in that our requested room was not available that night. Our new room was muc nicer although a little smaller than expected for the additional deluxe room charge. We were so happy with the hotel service that it did not matter too much.

We have stayed here numerous times when we visit London. The hotel is located in a quiet peaceful area close to two tube stations within walking distance. There are nice restaurants nearby that we love to frequent every time we visit. The staff are friendly and considerate. When the receptionist realized I was disabled/limited mobility; he changed our room to a ground floor room as a courtesy. This was very thoughtful of him. Our bathroom was one of the biggest that we have occupied at this hotel although the room was a bit cramped.

We have always chosen to stay here because of the location and the chance of parking on site if there was availability (it was first come first served). However, we were disappointed to find out on arrival that this is no longer the case and guests are not allowed to use the hotel's parking spaces. Our room overlooked the car park and all four spaces were empty all weekend except for the Monday morning when two spaces were occupied. For those who require parking there is an expensive parking garage nearby and on street parking with residential parking restrictions. There are several disabled parking spaces nearby although on our arrival they were all occupied.
