King Executive room was really large, including bathtub, very quiet and with a nice view Tea available all times of the day Excellent location, very close to Metro with 3 lines, just a couple stops to major attractions Area is excellent, full of services and restaurants Price we paid for staying around NYE was quite good

No lift, our room was on 2nd floor No hairdryer readily available in the room, we had to wait for a guest checking out Faucet made a lot of noise when on Breakfast was very basic and it was not fully served until 9 AM (should have been ready at 8), surely not at the expected level of a 4* hotel

The Cranley Hotel is a beautiful old house/hotel and it is in such a good position....just a short walk to the Gloucester Road underground. The lady who greeted us when we arrived was lovely, and our room was tastefully decorated. The four-poster bed was incredibly comfortable, and our spacious room had three armchairs and a small round dining table. The bath was fabulous, as was the shower. When we notified the front desk that we didn't have a TV remote, they remedied the problem quickly. There was a small fridge in the room which was great. We had read the reviews on Booking.com before coming, so we came prepared by packing our own kettle, some extra towels, and even some toilet paper. Our stay was really comfortable, and we enjoyed breakfast every morning...it had everything we needed.

On arriving to our room, we noticed that the bowl in the vanity had dropped down, and it couldn't be used. We just used the taps in the bath instead. During our stay, they began to makes some repairs but it wasn't finished by the time we left. Honestly, it wasn't a big problem.

Decent hotel, you have to allow for the fact it's an old building but it was fine, the bedroom was spacious enough and the bathroom clean, breakfast was pretty basic, was looking forward to a full English before heading out for the day, no chance, it was just some cereal, toast, cheese and ham or jam. I would stay here again, the location is great if you are going to Stamford Bridge, which we were.

Basic breakfast, it was a bit crowded and everyone was knocking into each other, the choice was limited.

Location was perfect. Room was spacious with shower over bath in ensuite. Stayed with my 8 Yr old who said staff were the nicest people on planet earth. Relaxed vibes.. Simple breakfast included. £50 security deposit taken at arrival and refunded 1-3 days after checkout

No tea/coffee facilities in room. Although we had a fridge. No hairdryer in room, possibly available at reception, we didn't ask.

After the many negative comments I have read, I was pleasantry suprised. We had a very frendly reception. The staff was kind, helpful and polite. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also fresh and diverse. Very good location, close to many types of public transport.

The carpets were indeed stained, but clean. They did not empty the bin in the room every day.

I had read some reviews which spoke about the hotel as being almost run down. We think that is unfair. Yes, it is true that it could do with a bit of a spruce up, but if you substitute the word 'tired' in some reviews for 'authentic' or 'traditional' then I think that is a fairer description. We liked it. We may have benefitted from having a very nice room - and it was indeed - spacious and with a huge bed. Another observation. Yes, the bathroom fittings were older - but had clearly been top quality - so older, getting on compared with cheap and worn out.... But a word for the staff, who were polite, friendly and very helpful. We would have no hesitation in trying it again - even better if we got the same room.... And a great location too

Yes some of the fittings and upkeep were a little under par, it's true. But our overall conclusion was that any shortcomings were outweighed by the benefits in terms of authenticity, great staff and value for money...

The best thing about this hotel are the lovely staff - so friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, light and really spacious. The décor was a little worn - carpets, curtains etc. - but it was quite charming. The plumbing looked quite old and cranky, but then my shower was really hot and powerful so I was happy!

As a woman travelling alone, I would've really like to be able to lock or bolt my bedroom door from the inside, not just the outside. I felt safe in the hotel, but I would have felt more comfortable knowing I could lock my door when I went to sleep. A water glass in the bedroom would be nice too, but these are minor things!

Absolutely lovley staff Sarah the manager was superb ... We had a room it was a bit warm .... Lower down without hesitation she gave us another room ... All the staff were very friendly ... Some bad reviews on the site ... I think people need to gauge cost and price .. it is a high end area ... Location is great had a good night's sleep ... I think some people are just not happy and need to manage there expectations. The building does need a bit of tlc that is down to the owner .. but like I said it's about cost ... Weighing up expectations ... The staff are amazing ... Nice people just like to say thank you for making us feel so welcome and we had a great weekend

I have stayed here before so it was nice that I was familiar with the area.

The shower had a concentrated stream of water as opposed to a normal spray you would get from typical shower heads which was quite annoying and I couldn’t get the temperature of the water up no matter how long I left it running and turning the nozzle all the way up to hot. So settled for a really luke warm morning shower. The lift was broken too, although the staff helped me up the four flights of stairs with my suitcase when I arrived. I did have to lug them all the way back down again at check out which wasn’t ideal. I would have called the front desk for help but the phone in the room also wasn’t working.

The hotel was just a short, flat walk from Gloucester Road tube station. It was a lovely spacious room and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large with a proper bath as well as a shower. It was in a very quiet street. We had a problem with the radiator which we couldn't turn off and t made the room too hot, but although we were on the ground floor we felt safe leaving the windows open to remedy this as it was at the back with a small enclosed 'gravelled area outside. Some of the decor and carpets looked a bit 'tired' and the continental breakfast was quite sparse but adequate...... I have not put these points in the negative box as none of it detracted from our own stay and we felt it was excellent value for money...... others may put different emphasis on these points and disagree?

There was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room......I can't remember when I last stayed in a room of any standard hotel (and we often stay in far lower standard hotels than this!) which didn't have this very basic facility..... to be fair there was the option of making yourself a coffee in the lounge...... but that is just a bit more inconvenient...... a slight black mark but still a very enjoyable stay
