Hospitality was top-notch! We felt like we were staying with family while there. The breakfast was delicious, and staff were very friendly. The ability to stay with our large group (2 families, 5 people each) was fantastic, especially in London. And having the two adjacent rooms connected with a balcony was a pleasant surprise. The kids loved the 2nd story loft! The lobby area was really beautiful, too. The location was great for us as it was close to Hyde Park, so our kids could feed the birds. We also really appreciated the ability to have tea late at night in the kitchen area after sightseeing.

The staff was amazing and possibly the best part of this hotel. They were all very friendly and helpful. I was able to use the kitchen to cook for myself which was very convenient. The room was ok, fairly dated but comfortable. I really appreciated the fan that was provided as the room got a little hot at night. I also appreciated the free body wash that was provided. The wifi was good and check-out was simple. The location is great, unfortunately the closest tube station was closed due to strikes when I stayed. But the next station was only a 10 minute walk so still incredibly convenient.

The free breakfast is only available until 9am which I found to be a little too early. I would have appreciated if it was available until 10, but this wasn't a big deal.

The St Simeon Hotel does what is says on the tin. It is a family run budget hotel. Staff are genuinely charming. The night Porter offered me a tea or coffee when I arrived at 10:30pm which was a lovely touch. The room was clean and the bed comfy. My room on the ground floor was absolutely silent. I got a great night’s sleep. Don’t expect any glamour, St Simeon’s doesn’t even try to sell that. The location is perfect, the staff go to lengths to make sure you have a good stay and the breakfast is a wonderful old fashioned affair of bacon, eggs and sausages all fried up as you sit with a cuppa (from a proper tea pot) and watch the morning news. Super value!

Not much not to like - St Simeon’s is a budget hotel so there are no frills - basic towel, soap and shower gel. My shower was scoldingly hot if I didn’t pay attention, but it wasn’t a problem.

I liked the fact that you could use the dining facilities 24/7 including unlimited tea and coffee (and real milk in the kitchen fridge). Residents could also use the kitchen facilities after breakfast was finished at anytime (breakfast was included in the price). With Tesco's very close by, a meal could be microwaved and eaten in the dining room both lunch time and dinner time which helps to keep holiday costs down and useful if a person is short on time. The staff wash the dishes afterwards which is nice and they were very friendly and helpful. There was also a fridge in my room which was useful too. The hotel was kept very clean. The location was good - Gloucester Road Tube station is very close by (10 minute walk).

The hotel's location was superb, 5-10 minute walk from subway stations (Gloucester, Earl's Court), close to shopping areas, restaurants, pubs and many of the London's key attractions including the Chelsea stadium, the reason our son wanted to book this hotel. It was in a high end residential area. We have big windows overlooking the back parts of some houses. The sky color during sunrise and sunset was nice to see. As this family run inn is meant to be a budget accommodation, the room was as expected, basic and rather small but equipped with a small fridge and working desk. The furnitures and linens were kind of outdated and yet overall the hotel was clean and service was nothing to complain about. When we asked the reception for extra blankets as it felt cold at night (in April), they were in the room when we came back. The included breakfast was fine, basic English breakfast, toasts (could ask for brown breads) with jams and butter as well as some fruits and cakes, coffee, tea, juice and limited variety of cereals. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. As long as the price is kept reasonable/competitive, we may come back.

A kettle in the room would be nice or at least availability of hot water, coffee and tea in the restaurant area all day. Not enough storage space in the room. Having shelves and hooks in the room and bathroom would be nice.

The location is perfect, 5 minutes' walk from Gloucester road station, and there's a big supermarket nearby. The receptionist is kind and helpful. The hotel is small but with very useful facilities such as elevator and kitchen. I got good value for the money and will consider choosing to live there again if I'll travel to London in the future.

at first I wasn't able to find the hotel, it took me a while to find the hotel. I called the hotel to seek help but find them having difficulties to provide useful information.

This is a small family hotel that offers everything you need for your stay, the rooms are basic but complete, the location between Earls Court and Glouster Rd Tube stations gets you straight to the airport or connections to all London sites. and a full breakfast in included. They even offer their dining area and some basic kitchen facilities where you can enjoy the dinner you bring from local eateries. A perfect budget hotel. But the real reason to stay here is the people who run the place. They will go out of their way to assist you beyond any budget motel. For me this was the frosting on the cake!

I missed a bedside lamp.

Hotel is in very quiet area. About 5 to 10 mins walk from Gloucester Road tube and same to Cromwell Road for buses. Went to Earls Court both nights for food which has good pubs and restaurants...try the side streets more than main road. Book in was efficient. Room and ensuite was very clean. It was a little cosy with very little space for hanging, drawers etc. Ensuite modern but again tight for space. Excellent lighting. Beds comfy. No tea coffee facilities in the room but there are free facilities in the dining room up to 9pm. You can also use the dining room to eat takeaways which seemed very good idea. Breakfast included full English which was well cooked. We were only there for 2 nights but room was cleaned and fresh towels given which I was not expecting.

Room booked was deluxe twin. I would have termed it basic in facilities. Only one pillow but to be fair, I didn't ask for another, and as staff were very helpful, I probably could have had one. I thought it was a little pricey but it was coronation weekend We didn't need clean towels and with an eye on the environment this could have been avoided.

The room was spacious (we were in the room for 5 people and it had a loft area with a bed). It had a small fridge that was very helpful. The bathroom was very nice. The shower was spacious and had good power. The breakfast in the mornings was an English breakfast that was really good and there were a few other options as well including fruit, croissants, and juice. It was nice to have access to the kitchen and dining area at any time. The walk to Gloucester station was 5 - 10 mins with an easy walk. There was a fairly good size Waitrose almost next to the station and there was a small Tesco across from the station. There were a few places to eat close to the station (though I didn't try any of them). If you walk from South Kensington station to the hotel, we found bakeries and more eating options. (We tried the Ole and Steen bakery and another bakery that had yummy pastries.)

Can't think of anything. We were there for about 5 days and no complaints.

A really friendly welcome from an extremely well kept and cosy lobby. A great first impression. The hotel interior itself is worth the visit - long winding staircase with beautifully preserved Victorian features. Check out the map mosaic on the 2nd floor - fascinating. Literally a 5 minute walk from Gloucester Road tube - couldn't be easier to find in a very swish part of London. My single room was perfect - ok, it was small and on the 3rd floor, but it was en-suite and for one night working in central London. Could it do with a bit of an update? Probably, but everything was clean, I got little toiletries and felt secure. There was even a small fridge which was really handy. I had a nice nights sleep so all good. I had a morning meeting so checked out without breakfast however now I have discovered this place, I will be back again so hopefully next time I will make time to have the breakfast (and save me the £5.60 that I spent in Pret later!!) It is also good to support independent hotels like this rather than a faceless chain. The lady in the office was up for a chat and made me feel valued as a guest. Well done St Simeon - see you next time I am working in London.

Small things - there was a clear window with no curtain in the bathroom. I'm sure no-one could see in, but a little disconcerting. Not the hotels fault - but directly above the single room is a family room and when I was staying, there were some very excitable kids running around the floors and screaming at 6.45am which could be heard easily directly underneath!! It was the school holidays and they were probably over-excited but it was not good to be woken up unexpectedly early after a late night working.
