Lyme 1 Hotel0

Lyme 1 is a beautiful hotel at the top of Broad Street, very convenient for the local shops. Our room was beautiful and we found everything we needed. The seagulls are quite noisy in the mornings, but that's to be expected by the sea side! The safe was useful, and the communal kitchen was marvelous. We really liked the glass bottles that we could fill with still and sparkling water in the kitchen. Breakfast was exceptional quality and very tasty. Being able to make our own toast in the kitchen was also good. Lyme Regis itself was as glorious as ever, wih some fantastic new restaurants alongside the old favourites.

We have nothing to complain about at all.

Superb location close to town, park and beaches, at the top of a very steep hill. Very helpful, friendly, proprietor. Spacious and clean room, large bathroom, with access to beautiful roof terrace. Felt like a lovely home from home. Fixtures and fittings were pleasing and tasteful.

Breakfast was continental, with no cooked option. This was fine for one or two nights, but a little repetitive thereafter. Parking locally is difficult and expensive. The proprietor was very helpful with this, and showed us somewhere to park. Lyme Regis is very hilly: guests with mobility problems need to consider this.

Breakfast was a hamper delivered outside the room at 8.30am each morning, it was simple with healthy choices but definitely plenty to eat. Location was excellent, it was quiet but with easy access to shops, gardens and the beach all within walking distance. Rooms were tastefully decorated, comfortable and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities as well as still and sparkling water, a fridge, safe, hairdryer and iron/ironing board. Complimentary toiletries were gorgeous natural formulations with essential oils, even robes and slippers were provided. We were placed in the Langmoor suite which was spacious and beautiful. We absolutely loved this accommodation and would thoroughly recommend it.

I could see a hot tub in the garden, it didn't look like it was in use but this would have added another level of luxury to our stay if it had been in use.

Great location, close to shops, restaurants, pubs and beach. Lovely clean room, very large comfortable bed and quirky decor. Nice to have coffee machine and fridge in room. Continental breakfast hamper delivered to your room with little extras available in the kitchen. Pretty little patio area at the back of the property. All staff very friendly and helpful.

No parking and parking in area quite expensive.

During this time of COVID-19, breakfast was delivered to our room. We submitted our menu requests by 8:00 p.m. each night. Breakfasts were in the continental style and were very good. We had a very early departure on our last night and our breakfast was delivered a full hour earlier which was much appreciated. Location was outstanding.

Really, our expectations were well met, so there really wasn't any issue that needed to be improved . The issue of not having free parking was a bit inconvenient, but a public parking area was just 2 minutes away.

Clean and stylish and comfortable. We found the pillows a bit hard on the first night and the very friendly owner (who we only met the following morning) kindly provided softer ones for our second night. Lovely little private roof terrace (no view of the sea!)

There is no bar or restaurant. Continental breakfast is left outside your room at 08.30... what if you want it earlier? - I think you can go down to the communal kitchen and make your own. Including toast! But in what's named a "hotel" we would have enjoyed the ritual of going downstairs to a restaurant for a cooked breakfast made by someone else! We saw no-one from when we checked in at 5pm until mid morning the next day which some people will love but it made us feel a bit cut off. Once we'd settled in though and got used to the set-up we loved it.

Great location in the centre of the town and a short walk from everything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely sparkling clean. We stayed in room 1 - a ground floor suite with a separate sitting room - it was definitely worth paying the (very little) extra to have the space. It also had a lovely big shower and double sinks. Double glazing meant there was no road noise and it was very cosy. There were lots of generous touches in the room - good quality bedding and sheets; lovely shampoo, conditioner etc in full sized bottles; dressing gowns; slippers; biscuits; coffee machine - and a very nice continental breakfast basket was delivered each morning. Really liked how we could use the kitchen and the supplies provided to make toast, tea, coffee etc any time we wanted to. Pleasant little courtyard at the back as well if we wanted to sit outside. All round a lovely stay and great value for money. Highly recommended, would gladly stay again.

Very minor point and a suggestion rather than a gripe. Given the generosity of the other lovely touches, the towels seemed a bit small! They seemed smaller than a standard bath towel and there was only one hand towel, so it got slightly complicated managing wet hair. Bigger bath towels or bath sheets would have been great.

The breakfast hamper is the star of the show, but I loved the large shower, the Nespresso machine in the room, and the communal Kitchenette with a cold sparkling and still water dispenser! Very good location and the owners are friendly, helpful, and readily available if there's any need.

Maybe we would have preferred a room with a window looking outside. We only had a french door giving access to the communal courtyard so we had to keep the curtains closed. But the room was nevertheless lovely.

This hotel is very well located at the top of the main shopping street of Lyme Regis, 5 minutes from the seafront. It was quiet as there are less than 10 rooms, 8 I think. Our room (room 5) was on the first floor and a a good size (rooms 6 and above are on the second floor). From the bathroom you can access an outside area with a little table and chairs which is divided from the main outside area open to everyone by a wood panel (don't turn the "key" to open the door to the outside area, just push it up or down). Another thing to note: if you just want a shower using the hose, turn the left knob towards you otherwise you will have water falling from above! There is a good selection of tea, coffee, chocolate and fresh milk. The continental breakfast is delivered outside your room at 8:30am, you text the number provided with your choice the evening before. The breakfast was good, nicely presented, there is actually far too much to eat :). You can help yourself with toast in the kitchen downstairs (important: please note that in order for the bread to be lowered into the toaster, you need to press the right hand side button!). There are dairy-free and gluten-free options, just ask! There is still and fizzy water in the room and you can replenish for free in the kitchen.

The only thing I noticed is that due to the wood floors, you can hear people walking in the room above (unless you are in room 6, 7 or 8) but I can't say that this would deter me from coming back again. I was a little dubious about the breakfast only being served at 8:30am but in fact it was not an issue, it was nice to relax and know it would come at that time and rather nice to have it in your room, in your pyjamas if you wished (using the bath robes provided).

A very good location close to the main street. If you wanted you need not use your car here as buses are available to other seaside locations. Breakfast was put in a hamper outside our room after pre ordering the night before. The staff we met were always pleasant and accommodating and everything was very clean and tidy. Bed was extremely comfortable but we could have done with a reading light beside the chair, The hotel was very aware of covid restrictions so your own book in by pre sent door access code and room key inside meant you really did not need to contact any other guests in the hotel

A reading light beside the chair so you did not always have to read in bed and this would make for a more comfy read too. A car park space would have been helpful as public car park was an uphill walk and it was difficult to stop outside and unload. However our host was able to supply, at this time, a place for us at an empty house nearby which we were very grateful for.
