We loved how friendly the staff were and the room was comfortable but a bit dated. The setting was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious! The communal areas were gorgeous and so comfortable with lovely sofas and great room for breakfast. Overall would definitely recommend!

Room and bathroom were a bit dated. We were on the ground floor with windows out directly to the carpark on one side and the outside seating on the other so didn’t feel very private as anyone could look in so had curtains drawn and noisy when windows were open.

Food - especially the breakfast was excellent. Lovely garden to sit out in as we had good weather. Friendly and efficient staff with good local knowledge.

My friend and I had a twin room it was a little small for the price. As the weather was good we were out a lot so it didn't matter that much - but if it had been raining or cold there was nowhere to sit in comfort in the room. The residents lounge is small - admittedly we could have sat in the bar but that's not the same.

The location and building was a great wow factor. The staff we excellent and the general standard was first class.

I feel I was massively overcharged by booking.com for the rooms. £160 is London hotel rates. My fault for not checking the contract thoroughly. I won’t be using them again. If I had booked with the hotel direct I could have saved several hundred pounds for my family. Lesson learned.

Staff were lovely; Dinner was wonderful, breakfast was a little slow but we were in no rush and it was very good when it arrived. Room was good; dog welcome pack was very popular with our dogs. Generally one of the best hotel stays we have ever had

The brown signs directing to the hotel have rather faded and so we missed the turn first time and as the hotel is well hidden it might be an idea to have them replaced.

Despite our very late arrival we were given an extremely warm welcome. We were directed to our room which had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Disappointed to have missed the opportunity to enjoy the bar, restaurant and garden as it appeared well maintained and very inviting. A generous selection of continental breakfast options were included with cold meat/cheeses on offer at request and more traditional cooked options available should you choose to order.

The hotel was off the beaten track, tucked away from the main village/town yet it was easily accessible and signposted for vehicles. Though the room interior was a little dated, the room was big and beautifully comfortable, with a view overlooking a very lovely garden. I would happily stay here again.

The staff were very friendly and polite.Helen who greetest us when we arrived was lovely and Kaleigh a waitress again extremely polite. No hesitation returning.

The service was quite confusing.Staff in training I would have thought which was understandable coming back to some normality in these times.Coffee machine very slow when too many at breakfast at same time. Not really complaints as more observations.

Beautiful hotel. Wonderful staff! Amazing food!!!! Really lovely, we was stuck in 4hr traffic and they we're so caring that they was going to arrange food after 9pm just to make sure we we're looked after. Thankfully we got there in time and was given a lovely welcome. Saved us a table and fed us beautiful food. We woke up in the morning to beautiful peacocks strutting around then a gorgeous breakfast...what's not to like. This is a historical hotel with a wonderful history. The rooms are wonderful! We loved it. Thank you so much for being fabulous! X Camilla and Colin Pearce

This hotel is extremely well run. All of the staff were very pleasant all the time and really couldn't do enough. Continental breakfast was superb with plenty of choice, fresh fruit salad, cereals and pastries as well as a good choice for cooked breakfast. Evening meals were lovely and could be eaten in the bar area or conservatory. We had a lovely room with doors out to the garden. Good location for visiting the coastal resorts.

We had a twin room and found one of the beds a bit too soft but that was just personal choice.

Breakfast is delicious and very accommodating to requests. When we finally got our twin room it was great - Very comfortable. Staff were absolutely brilliant - couldn't fault a thing! Every request seen to. Lovely people.

got given a double for the first night even though we booked a twin. This was quickly sorted the next day though. Location is a little isolated (we ended up eating there most nights because you can't get a taxi anywhere), but then you get peace at night.
