The Bridge House

Everything! This hotel is fabulous and the owners work hard to keep up such a high standard that puts bigger overpriced hotel to shame . The decor is so tasteful ,beautifully decorated and attention to detail shows that owners have a passion for what they do .I stayed with my sister so booked two single rooms which were lovely lots of lovely touches dressing robe , quality toiletries, selection of teas biscuits and tassimo coffee machine .Also small ironing board in each room.The breakfast was delicious lots of choices and served in a wonderful dining room full of character antiques and art . All the staff very friendly and attentive nothing too much trouble. The hotel had an outside bar called the potting shed and even that and surrounding garden was a delight filled with garden memorabilia and candles / lights and Cosy blankets Sadly We only stayed two nights but will definitely come back as lots to do and see in the area

I loved the whole ambiance: a beautiful restored townhouse, very tastefully decorated with attention to every detail. Clearly an excellent team working collaboratively to provide top quality service for guests. Bridport is a vibrant and very attractive historic town with all modern conveniences: a happy place!

I don't drive, and relying on public transport - ie buses - is an art in itself. The various routes are confusing. If only Dorset Council would appreciate the value of providing a frequent reliable bus service, more people would choose to travel without cars. The traffic through the town is constant. Fortunately the pavements are wide

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Loved the thoughtful, considered decor and unobtrusive 'mod cons'. Particularly loved the choice of colour in our room, number 6, restful/elegant. The bed was super comfy. The breakfasts were delicious. We had the Dorset but I spied others being delivered avocado, poached eggs etc and cleaning their plates. In my opinion, the Bridge House is everything a small hotel should be.

Very helpful welcoming staff. The single rooms were pleasanter and better equipped than many I have stayed in and the toiletries provided were a good quality. Very attractive, historic building that is a walking distance from the centre of Bridport .

The breakfast buffet could be presented more attractively. My stay coincided with a heatwave and my original room was unbearably hot, the staff provided an extra fan but I had to move rooms to get some sleep.

Breakfast was first class and made very easy and personable by the staff. The room had very good en suite facilities and a nice view over the outside areas. The room was decorated and furnished to a nice high standard and every small detail was covered to make our stay very relaxing, enjoyable and plenty of information reference the property and facilities as well as the local area. Very nice outside dining areas for pop up dining experiences and a cellar area also. The location in Bridport was excellent to stroll into town and enjoy local good quality restaurants and cafes for dining. Car parking was available on site on first come first served basis. Property maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Nice touch was the late night drinks honesty bar and security was good at night also.

Would prefer easier parking but other than that first class all round with a laid back but quality vibe.

immaculately clean and well thought out comfortable rooms. Despite being on the main road it is remarkably quiet and we had 3 nights of good, restful sleep. the staff were all friendly and took the time to engage with us about interests and places to go. The breakfast choices were varied and delicious and brought to us by a lady who was always smiling and upbeat and was super excited to find out we were going fossil hunting. It was nice to see electric car charging ports in the car park. A lovely hotel run by a team of excellent staff. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Superb breakfasts, including slightly unusual items like bubble and squeak. The full Dorset breakfast was really good. There were thoughtful touches, like fresh milk in a mini fridge on the landing so you didn't have to use the UHT stuff if you didn't want to. And the hotel provided me with a tube of toothpaste when I realised I'd forgotten to pack my own.

I couldn't get my television to work, nor could the (very helpful) member of staff who came up to help. But it wasn't a major issue for me.

This was a great hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel and our room were very clean. The breakfasts were some of the best I have experienced anywhere as hot breakfasts were cooked to order rather than the usual buffet breakfast. The hotel location was very good as it was only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Bridport where there were great restaurants, cafes and shops, yet there was easy road access to the local beach and various tourist attractions throughout Dorset. Our room had all the usual amenities including a kettle and coffee machine, and the novel touch of a fridge in the corridor which had small bottles of fresh milk for use in our rooms.

Everything that you could ask for was ready and waiting for us...cotton buds, fan, hairdryer, hooks in the right places, their own brand shower gel and hand wash (smells so good), recycling bag in the room too. Also, great attention to preparing for our dog with her own area (with bowls, a throw, treats) on the room and a little rug and biscuits waiting for her when we came down for breakfast 😀 GREAT vegan breakfast too, thank you 😊

Great facilities at the property including cocktail bar in the cellar and lovely garden with bar/pizza oven. The owners were very accommodating and even gave us their own TV when our room TV stopped working. Lots of nice touches including fresh milk in mini fridges and honesty bar.

Struggling to find much to say that was negative - the only thing I would have liked more of was a better selection of fruit for the continental breakfast
