September 2023

Lovely and spacious family room. I shared with my 2 teenagers and it was a great set up with a large double and two singles with loads of space for us all. Very clean and well equipped with teas and coffee, water bottles, hairdryer, ironing board. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was very nice and a good size. Very quiet with no road noise or sounds from the pub. Staff in the pub were helpful and friendly. It’s in the centre of Bridport so handy for everything. No parking but I found a car park very close and as we’re only staying a night and didn’t have luggage it was fine.

The entrance to the Greyhound pub isn’t very pleasant and getting to the room meant walking through the “beer garden”/courtyard which was a bit grim. Needed to search out staff to check in. The hot water in the shower took a long time to warm up but was fine once it was hot. There are windows (velux) very high in the vaulted ceiling and impossible to get to them to pull the blinds so light very early.

The room and en-suite have recently been very nicely refurbished; they were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The rest of the hotel was just what you'd expect from Wetherspoon's - great value food in fairly basic but clean surroundings.

The en-suite was lovely but... the walk-in rain shower was rather underpowered, so that my partner wasn't able to wash her hair during our stay. We stayed during a heatwave. The windows don't open and we couldn't set the aircon lower than 19 degrees, so we were rather too hot and didn't sleep very well. Compared to our last stay in a Wetherspoon's hotel (Minehead, pre-pandemic) the cost has more than doubled. There's no parking at this town centre hotel, so we had to use the council pay and display car park, which is a five minute walk and of course adds to the cost of the stay.

Huge family room, high ceilings, airy and bright, with electric blackout blinds and window operation, it certainly exceeded our expectation of a family room. We had a comfortable double bed, two single beds and a sofa bed, the latter not as comfortable but my son who opted to sleep in that bed didn't complain. Room was very clean as was the bathroom, clean sheets and towels plus all the amenities you could want in a room, plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits and water, toiletries in bathroom, ironing board and hairdryer. Check-in process was very easy and quick by extremely friendly staff. Location was excellent too, many high street shops nearby and public car park where overnight parking (6pm-8am) was free. Only stayed one night but it was so good that I wished I could have extended our stay. Would return again if I'm visiting the town in future.

The musty or stale cigarette smell as you enter the residence at the back of the pub. A few extra pillows or firmer, larger pillows and a mini fridge would have been a bonus. Private parking on site just for guests, though the public car park was good.

I think in general when it comes to bar and food, it’s pretty universal across all Wetherspoons What I was very impressed with is the bedrooms. Really nicely furnished, bathroom was large and modern, tea/coffee and biscuits provided. In addition iron and ironing board also sling with hairdryer Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble Great location right on the high street but not noisy at all

All good. If you have a car, it’s a short walk down the road although felt much longer in the wind and rain but you could drop off outside to unload

Beds really comfy. Room quiet although over main street. Room very clean. Staff very pleasant despite being really busy. Great location for wandering around Bridport. Possible to park close to hotel on the street between 5pm and 9am for free. Car park further down street for parking in day-time (charges apply). You can eat and drink on site.

The hotel has no parking spaces belonging to it but you can park close by. Access to our room was slightly delayed due to it being cleaned but the staff worked hard to get it ready and it was lovely and clean.

The room was large, comfortable and of a high quality in furnishing and decoration. Bed was enormous. It was a very quiet room, could not hear a thing, which is important because it is in a busy pub facing the main road. Centrally located in a pleasant and posperous town and a little over a mile from the seaside in West Bay and an easy trip to both Lyme Regis and Dorchester. Staff welcoming and pleasant and as always with Wetherspoons great value quality food. Would definitely recommend it.

No car park, which is not unusual in a town. However there is a town car park a brief walk away. The car park is free from 6pm to 8am. Next morning before breakfast, popped down to the car park for 8am and paid. It cost £1.50 for 2 hours which was reasonable and gave plenty of time to breakfast and pack.

Great location. Clean, well presented rooms with updated bathrooms. Breakfasts at good prices. Good cafes, resaurants, shops all nearby. Booked for 5 nights, and was initially given a smaller room than represented on booking. Upgraded on my request for last 2 nights.

Room size in booking details was 244 sq ft. After friends booked in 2 days later we realised our room was much smaller, around 160 sq ft. We booked more than 6 months in advance for a 5 night stay, and were given the smallest room in the hotel. After a month of travelling, and arriving in Bridport for a wedding, the larger room was appreciated when we got it.

Room was very clean, bed so comfy, shower heated quickly, staff very friendly and accommodating, coffee and tea with biscuits in the room was a nice touch. Very much enjoyed our stay. Second time of being in Bridport and would love to stay again, beautiful town and premises. Plenty to do and see and very eclectic shops for all.

Waiting almost 30 mins for our meal and when it did arrive it was Luke warm, chips under cooked, scampi coating was soft and not crispy. Mushy peas had started to dry on top, the pot of sauce I had, had been placed in the mushy peas and it wasn't ordered on my meal but the wife's meal, sauce was half empty and spilled down the side as if it was used by someone else and placed on my plate unfinished by someone. Niger was the only thing still steaming with heat everything else was under whelming. The meal we had the next evening was perfect, hot and tasty, ( all day brunch). The breakfast we had this morning was great too, ordered and arrive within 5 mins couldn't have been any better. We would still stay again as it's a lovely place to be.

The food and drink were excellent....and very reasonably priced and varied. Very wide choice of healthy options. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The price for a big room with en-suite was very competitive. Right in the centre of Bridport....bus stops very near. Walking distance to pubs, restaurants, market on Wednesdays, shops etc.

Well...a car park would be useful for travel nearby where no busses along narrow country lanes....and for evening travel. Lift for easy access with luggage would be useful but good exercise to walk.

Excellent size room, very comfortable bed. Shower was first class, great water pressure, easy to use and spacious. Secure entry to second floor room, no access from bar without key card.

Lighting was a bit dim. Air conditioning had cooled room too much, took ages for room to feel less like a freezer. No car park, nearest pay parking was a few hundred metres away.
