Clean and good size room, comfortable bed and powerful shower. Had a desk and lamp which was comfortable to work at. Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits. We had an evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. Delicious lasagne for dinner served in the bar/restaurant area. Breakfast was continental style cereals, fruit muffins, etc to serve yourself and hot cooked breakfast options from a menu. Order taken by a smiling waitress and cooked to order, so possible to add or remove from menu choices to suit you. Well cooked and tasty, I had my favourite Eggs Royale. Free car park on site if staying in the hotel (enter registration on the screen on the reception desk). Interesting historic inn building reputed to date back to the 13th Century. Made a pleasant change from staying in a chain hotel and more reasonably priced.

Nothing we did not like, beyond expectations. Wish we could have stayed longer and not just staying there for work reasons as it was very close to a client's office for a meeting.

We arrived very late cause of a delay, but their welcome made us forget the delay! Never seen friendlier staff, so helpful. I could not say anything bad about our stay here! As for the location, it was very beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. We really liked the old fashion style, with a modern touch. I forgot my E-reader and they notified me straight away and made sure to send it to the Netherlands. That's why they deserve the full 10 points for service as well, it's hard to find staff as friendly and helpful as the people working in this hotel.

Nothing! It was one of the best experiences I've had with hotels.

The room was absolutely lovely. Much larger than we were expecting, excellently kitted out with everything one would need for a short break away. The hotel was beautiful, the courtyard looking stunning with the balconies draped in wisteria. Absolutely charming! And we were not expecting a babbling brook just outside our bedroom window!! Glorious!!

The only tiny issue we had was a mix up with our breakfast, there was an issue with the table numbers which meant we were served quite a bit after those who came in to the dining room later than us. My husband was hungover, and hangry by the time our breakfasts were served. But the staff were very apologetic and explained what the issue was, so it was dealt with very quickly and professionally!

The perfect hotel for a short stay. An old coaching inn, it is on what was once the main road to Bath, but now just a not-very-busy A road. It is very historic, well modernised but still with a traditional air. Samuel Pepys even stayed here, and so did King William of Orange, according to the scrapbook about the hotel in the reception. It is now aimed I would say mainly at people who are coming to the area on work or business, and really provides everything you need in a comfortable atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a well lit worktable, nice shower room with hot water, tea and coffee, good bed. Slept well. The cooked breakfast is good value for £10 each, you could also have a continental style one for £7. We had very good quality local yogurt, a veggie full English and smoked salmon and scrambled egg. You can make yourself some toast if you want and they have Marmite and small jars of Tiptree jam and marmalade. Lots of different cereals and also meusli porridge, croissants, pastries. There is a pleasant bar where you can come and sit in the evenings, you can also have a decent evening meal there. It is right in the town of Hungerford, and has plenty of parking. There are both an attractive courtyard and well kept riverside gardens for the summer months, although the weather wasn't that good when we were there. A variety of accommodations, we were in the main building. The staff were really friendly and helpful. This is not a "romantic getaway, for a special occasion" but it really is a practical, pleasant tasteful and affordable hotel where the staff try hard and seem to try to do things right. I felt the price was very good for what we got.

We didn't really have any issues. The water in the shower was a bit slow draining away so we told reception and they said they would sort it out.

Location close to centre. Nice view of river running past window. Lovely old buildings. Room immaculate, probably just been refurbished. Good hot water/heating. Hairdryer/iron/board in room, no need to ask. Fried breakfast was great. Friendly staff. Free parking (please remember to register your car, but there are plenty of signs to remind you).

Absolutely no WiFi in room or main building where I had breakfast. Not many channels on TV. Cost of breakfast not included in room price (£94, although I would be happy admit if I am out of touch and that is reasonable these days). Avocado on toast tasted as if it came from a jar rather than fresh.

Stayed in a lovely cabin style room that even felt like a motel, as we entered it via a small balcony from the outside! Room was decent size and nicely hidden away from any street noise or that of other guests; bed was very comfortable. Staff were very welcoming on arrival and in general. Bar area was lovely. Very easy to find when travelling along the main road from the M4. Ample parking space.

Bathroom a little cramped, but it didn't detract from being a lovely place to stay in general. Food (both for dinner in the bar and breakfast) was good as opposed to spectacular.

The location was in a good place. The food was nice. The room was lovely. The hotel was nice. The staff were helpful and easy to talk to. I would stay there again next time I visit.

On the car park my car was blocked in by 2 big vans one on each side. Fortunately I didn’t need to use my car at that time. I wouldn’t of been able to get in the car. I found it a bit stressful having to put my registration in on the tablet. I had to go back outside in the pouring rain and take a picture of my registration as I couldn’t remember my number plate.

Well presented accommodation and it had much more to it than a usual 'business hotel'.

No gel in the shower gel container...oops We had a room in a renovated building, first floor. The weather conditions were very cold that day/night and the outside steps were very frosty if not icy. The steps treads seemed to slant downwards, which were okay if ascending, but didn't give you a comfortable feeling when you were descending. I watched an elderly lady who must have had a neighbouring room trying to come down these steps in the morning, it was not a sight for the feint hearted. I would recommend you reserve these rooms for the younger generation.

The breakfast was great quality food and the bedroom was really nice and cosy and and clean. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was superb, would highly recommend staying here for the location and the service.

All the cobwebs outside our room and having to go outside in order to get to the hotel kitchen. I didn't like the fact that there wasn't any bottled water available in our room, we had to boil the kettle multiple times in order to have fresh water in our room.

spacious and attractive room, friendly greeting on reception and by night porter, good facilities in the room, plenty of parking, very pretty old building, well located, quiet despite its road side position, reasonably priced,

foam pillows were really uncomfortable, room not as clean as it could be - the toilet, the broken shower pieces left in the bathroom, dusty surfaces, teether on floor from previous occupant. The room was cold - there was no heating on. we found a plug in heater in the wardrobe, but this did not help with the very cold bathroom - there is a heated towel rail in there, but it was off, meaning that our towels stayed cold and damp.
