Friendly welcome at check in & throughout our stay. We were able to park in hotel car park out back. Clean, airy, bright room with comfy bed. Big shower in spotless bathroom. 2 good size windows letting in plenty of light. A plug in fan to keep us cool. Good central location near everything including the beach. Dog friendly & quiet. Up to 11am check out.

Only 2 pillows between 2 of us (1 each). By the time we realised when we went to bed it was late at night. We should have noticed earlier & asked then.

Ideal location with shops and restaurants on your doorstep and 5 minute walk to railway and beach. Limited parking behind hotel. Staff really friendly and nice pub. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast with cereal/yogurt/toast.Room overall very clean, comfy double bed.

Haven’t really got any negative comments- can hear the music from the bar slightly at night (room was on first floor), and the floorboards in the bathroom were very creaky! Could have done with king size bed as the room was big enough. Was unable to eat in the restaurant in the evening as kitchen closed the 2 nights we were there.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and is clean and comfortable.Chris the night porter made us so welcome so he is definately deserves a mention! It has a thriving bar and generally nice staff.

The lady on arrival wasn't welcoming although she said she didn't normally assist at reception.Gave a list of rules immediately about our dog, a bit off-putting - I had to ask things like breakfast times as nothing was mentioned for our benefit as customers, so failed to tell us times for dinner -we failed to order in time despite being at the bar! So was more interested in the hotels interests than ours.

Excellent location, close to restaurants and shops, a stones throw from the beach. The rooms were not ‘luxurious’ but they were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming even though it was a busy weekend for them. The food was really tasty, well cooked ‘pub grub’, there was also a pizza oven option. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. oh… added bonus was they were really dog friendly 🐾

Liked everything… but the car park to the rear is small and down a one way street. Not a dislike just to note.

The gentleman who was looking after guests over breakfast on Saturday morning was really helpful as we asked him for ideas of what to do for the day and he suggested we go into the hills as it had snowed and that is what he would do. Also the room attendant was very polite and supplied more coffee and was very personable. The room was clean and beautifully presented and the bar was lively and has a real sense that the establishment itself is the heart of the local community.

The shower had very little water pressure, but otherwise it was fabulous.

Very satisfied with breakfast - great member of staff on every morning, he was very convivial. Chef - the eggs were always cooked to perfection!! Excellent.

Room 33 - quiet, large bathroom but perhaps a few more hooks would be handy - a few in the bathroom and a few in the children's room. Also the double bed was comfortable but could have done with being a little longer.

Great location bang in the middle of town and a short walk from the beach and the heritage railway station. Awesome staff! Steve the chef was very accommodating with my 8 year old’s requests. Adequate free parking at the rear of the building.

A simple solution like a pressure pump to increase the pressure would be welcome as I opened the shower and could have made myself a coffee by the time the water arrived after which it was void of any pressure anyways. Good thing there was a kettle with lots of coffee in the room anyways….

I let the staff know in advance that it was my daughter’s birthday and they left a card, some glitter confetti and cupcakes in our room, which she loved! The location was ideal for a walk to the beach.

It was very noisy in the bar when we arrived about 6.15pm but this was due to an Adult weekend at Butlins. Fortunately the crowds cleared and it was quieter later although it was a bit noisy around 11pm when people were going back to their rooms.

The twin room was exceptionally clean, bright and airy. The beds were very comfortable and we very nearly all overslept for breakfast. We had everything we needed in the room available to us. The bathroom was also of a very high standard, clean and bright. I would defiantly stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. Butlins even had an adult weekend going on, and we didn't hear any music or problems, we had children with us and was a concern, which was a good outcome.

The room for the children was ok for one night, but it was very very small, and they could only walk sideways around the bunk bed, it was quite a squash. The breakfast service was a little slow, I think where we sat we were forgotten, we would have had cereal but the bowls looked like they came off the local campsite, tin bowls that were chipped, they were not great. But the cooked breakfast was a good standard.

Great location with parking, good size family room with comfy beds and very clean. Price included breakfast which was nice with good selection and staff very friendly. We were meeting friends that were staying at Butlins so got a day pass to join them so location was perfect.

Only one negatives that stopped it being a 10, was the noise from the room upstairs, which woke us at 7am but other than that great value and nice hotel.
