Great pub /hotel. lovely room and bedding. recent refurb evident. Nice location with car park on site. Very nice staff ,welcoming .

Restaurant closed on night we arrived, apparently this is a regular closure on Mondays and Tuesdays..food available from "sister" pub opposite. Room was great but up three flights of stairs . We are in our 70s and not easy with bags . No cooked breakfast ,but continental breakfast , but advised a cooked breakfast was available at sister pub across road., but you have to pay. Not possible to pay extra to exchange the continental breakfast for a cooked breakfast at sister pub.

The hotel is right in the centre of Wiveliscombe - opposite the Square and easily accessible by public transport - the Number 25 from Taunton (via the train station to Dulverton/Langley First Bus Somerset Bristol. The room was comfortable and had tea and coffee facilities and was spacious and I was on the top floor overlooking the road - no noise herd from the street or pub - good food for the evenings - I was in Room 11 a double bedded room for 2 people

Clearer that it is ROOM only - most of the negative comments are the fact no breakfast - I had not really realised this or reviews before - BUT a negative into a positive - there is a local café in the Square (Whelan) that opens Monday to Saturday (so thus closed Sunday) open at 0730 reasonable prices or the Bear breakfast at 0900 or the Coop

The staff at the White Hart were really accommodating, friendly, charming, and helpful. They found us taxi numbers and let us book taxis using their phone (as the signal is a bit patchy in Wiveliscombe). Our rooms were a good size, very clean and very comfortable and we weren’t bustled out of the doors super-early on the morning of leaving or anything. There is a good car park and everything worked well for us - we had a very good stay.

We have no complaints. The hotel does not offer bed and breakfast which is a shame, but it is priced accordingly.

We visited the area for a relative's memorial service, and the reception afterwards was held at the White Hart where we stayed. I thought the food provided at the reception was good, and the scotch eggs, which I gather were made on the premises, were some of the nicest I recall. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything else was fine, so given our specific circumstances, the White Hart provided exactly what we needed for this trip.

The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with fluffy towels and a hairdryer. The position was perfect right in the middle of the town

The breakfast was not brilliant. Oranges and hard kiwis out of the fridge. Bananas appeared on the last morning. No brown bread one day. Often had to ask for things like marmalade and Alpen to be topped up. It was also expensive for me as I was on my own but paid for two

. Good value for money at less than£60 per night for a double ensuite with bath and shower. Ok for a base to explore Somerset and North Devon. Bear Inn across the road does good food at reasonable prices.

Not much to do in the town except the hotel bar and Bear Inn beer garden although does have an open air heated pool but expensive at £6 for a 40 minute swim. Drinks in the White Hart bar slightly ruined on occasions due to few arguing alcoholic locals. However Simon the landlord did tell them eventually to leave.

A warm welcome, and a good room. The staff were absolutely brilliant, made me feel so very welcome. Everyone was cheery and helpful, and the bar was a great place to destress after a busy day, full of locals, rather like an episode of "Cheers", the old American sitcom - everybody knows your name!

I had been anxious that there was no breakfast, but there was a lovely whole food cafe next door, or a traditional full breakfast cafe opposite in the square - it was no problem.

As soon as you got there you were made to feel very welcome, our dog was also welcomed with open arms, the room was spacious and clean, there is car parking and my husband said their burgers were amazing! All the food I had was great, they don’t do breakfasts but over the road is a fab cafe in the square who do wonderful ones. The staff genuinely loved their jobs and they were a great team, everyone was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble, a very relaxing stay

The shower was a little small and would have liked a bath

Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Continental breakfast was excellent - with real coffee! Hotel is quirky and full of character in a beautiful location. I visited last year and notice that the hotel is being refurbished with good results so far.

Shower was a bit weak and there was a dead spider in the basin. The first room that we were shown had a very noisy extractor fan which was offputting.
