The White House Guest House

The building has character, spacious rooms which were spotless, amazing variety for breakfast with all you could handle. location is central in Williton plenty to do short drives away. the staff were amazing and you wanted for nothing. We will be back, room 5 loved it 4 poster bed great nights sleep.

The room was very basic but clean comfortable and WARM, a welcome on a freezing cold day. There were a couple of little things that showed the staff cared about the guests. The welcome we received was lovely.

The room was in a courtyard so no view at all. No double glazing. The bathroom was very cold despite a heated towel rail. No curtain or blind in bathroom. Every sound could be heard from next door. I was woken at 5 am by someone turning on lights and going to the bathroom.

Location, car parking, quiet at back where our room was located. Good breakfast choices and good quality products used.

Bathroom too cold, no heating in it. Needs an electric towel rail or similar for this time of year. Some lighting needs attention to make it work and tidy up where exposed cores showing in ceiling rose.

The room was comfortable and met my requirements. Staff were freindly and nice always willing to help and assist. Restaurant was good and the food was cooked to a good standard. Tea and coffee available in the rooms. I would deffinately recvomend this hotel.

The restaurant is not open in the afternoon. However, they provide you with information of a local take away restaurant for hot foid and the coop is 2 minuets walk for snacks.

The breakfast was excellent so was the two men that looked after us, they made us very welcome and the food was lovely.

The young girl that showed us to our room was ignorant our granddaughter traveled with us she wanted to know where her room was the family room she sent her to the wrong room and we had to ring my daughter to tell us where the room was located we where in the courtyard my granddaughter was in the house.

The attitude of the staff was excellent. They were extremely helpful and courteous. The food was of a very high standard, good quality and expertly cooked. Service in the restaurant and bar were also very good. We liked the contemporary decor and colour palate, which suited the age and style of the property. Our room was more spacious than the picture on the website indicated and the bed was very comfortable.

A couple of more comfortable chairs in the bedroom would have been nice and the parking was a bit awkward at times. However we acknowledge the challenges of space and think the owners are doing their best to manage these

This was our third year staying at The White House for the Watchet festival weekend and we had another great stay. Staff really friendly and helpful. The new owners have made some nice updates/refurbishments to the property. Our room was comfortable and perfectly equipped and we had no issues parking. Breakfast was great and the new system due to Covid of handing in your breakfast choices the night before (instead of buffet bar for juices, cereal etc) worked really well and we felt really comfortable using this method, in fact we wouldn't have any issues if it continued next year.

Just a small niggle... the bathroom in our courtyard room was one not to have (yet) undergone an update/refurbishment and we did find the sloping sink and shelf above the sink a little annoying as nothing would stay on it!

Some niggles for us I.e. Noisy tv next door all night and guys chatting and smoking till late beneath room 4! Had to shut our window on a warm evening and a warm room with no fan. Shower was poor as it's a mixer got burnt and quite a dirty shower head. Not a good nights sleep at all. Parking a bit of a lottery out the front on the grass. N.b. The good points that outweigh the above Hotel and room were lovely staff are great. Plentiful tea and coffee etc, comfy bed, nice downstairs bar and restaurant etc with good service.

Parking is a bit hear and there. but OK if you use the grass ...it does not seem to cover the number of rooms ? For off road parking.... But I am sure this could be managed. No Black Pudding.....oh no

My room was in the courtyard. It was quiet and everything worked. The bath was especially welcome. The breakfasts were freshly cooked after you filled in a sheet stating which ingredients you wanted, thus hopefully reducing wastage. Evening meals were also cooked specially and served with a smile and a chat.

The car parking was a bit tight! There was space for everyone but some of the gaps I found challenging.
