Fantastic views. Two chair balcony The staff are really friendly knowledgeable and try hard to be helpful. Excellent breakfast. Large room very clean good quality linen, nice bathroom and bedroom well presented. Excellent value.

Room 8 blinds only go 2 thirds of the way down leaving the outside led lights beam into the room and onto bed. Can be noisy outside as there are no curtains to blank out the noise and light . Only one bedside light with switch behind headboard. Hotel entrance / exit not as welcoming compared to the well decorated rooms. Little signage as where to go on arrival.

Right on the small Harbour. All the staff were lovely, helpful and considerate. It was well equipped and in the perfect spot for our stay. Breakfast was really good with a variety of choice. And a great evening menu. Close to all amenities. Overall a great few days and we would definitely stay again.

My single bed divan base was creaky and very much in need of renewal and also the mattress. Apart from that I still managed to sleep fairly well! My mother in law had no complaints about her bed. Also the extractor fan in bathroom didn't seem to be working. I did mean to mention all of the above to staff when I saw them, but kept forgetting to mention as we were having a lovely time! I also didn't like that I had to go home and couldn't stay longer! Next time!

The room had a spectacular view across the harbour and was wonderfully light and airy. The beds were very comfortable with clean white sheets/duvets. It was very spacious, and great to have a small table with chairs so we could enjoy playing a card game together. The balcony was great as we could sit out and enjoy the view in the morning and evening. There was a really good choice of menu for breakfast - my daughter had her favourite - scrambled egg and smoked salmon which was an extremely generous portion - all inclusive in the room price. We enjoyed a good evening meal without having to leave the building and the staff were all very friendly, even though they were extremely busy.

The shower needed a little TLC but as soon as I mentioned it to Rosie, the manager she was straight on to looking into it. Some things could do with a bit of attention in terms of maintenance but given the current financial climate I can't complain.

Well located for coastal walkers. The room were big, beds comfortable and clean. The staff were very busy and were having to constantly multi task in a very busy establishment. That said, at no stage were we ignored

Two points on maintenance: A sash cords on one of the windows was broken and if the other cord were to fail it could cause injury. In keeping with name of the hotel, in nautical terms: The toilet seat is a drift from its moorings and is dangerous. Don't expect any leeway with the 3pm booking- in. Having flog for miles in the heat of the day then having to wait an hour was harsh. While it's clear in theT&Cs that 3pm was the the earliest time to book-in, no mercy was shown to hot and knackered walkers. Not withstanding the above, it's well worth a visit.

The harbour situation of the Old Ship Aground is pretty attractive with outdoor seating overlooking the small beach and moored boats. Our room didn't face seawards but it was spacious, warm, clean and had everything we needed for a 2 x day stay, with the room cleaned during the day. Rosie and her staff were terrific - very friendly, helpful and efficient throughout, even finding secure storage for our bikes. Breakfast was great too with a range of choices, including a veggie option. With all the above in mind, we found the charge to be super competitive given that it was also during the school half - term.

No complaints !

Room 8 overlooking the harbour was great. The super king bed was excellent. Very quiet during the night. Sunday carvery only served until 7.00 pm and we were one of the last to eat. Therefore not the best selection left. Wasn't very appetising. Breakfast, choice of cereals, juices etc. Cooked breakfast was 1 sausage, 1 bacon, egg, beans and mushrooms with one slice of toast. More toast would have been good but was not offered. The quality of the bacon and sausage was very tasty. All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. A credit to the establishment.

The light switch in the bathroom was missing its toggle. Therefore the cord was grubby. Room 8 is such a lovely large room it would be nice to have a larger TV.

Room big and comfortable. Friendly and made to feel welcome. Super dog friendly. The bed was big and comfortable. Room spacious and clean. Bathroom smaller but a good shower and nice big towels. Breakfast was tasty, and the evening meal was nice. Good friendly service and Rosie, the manager works very hard to make you feel comfortable and welcome despite being very busy. Grest location in the old harbour, far enough away from the town so you do not get noise, but close enough to walk to.

The bathroom mirror needs to be lower as I could not see myself in it. Could do with the mirror in the room being above the chest of drawers so closer to the plug point. Could do with a mat to put dog bowls on. Could do with light in the room being brighter or a lamp by the mirror for doing makeup, etc. Dinner was nice, but the venison was rather expensive. Limited menu so disappointing when some things were not available. Two things that would improve breakfast are 2 eggs and better quality bread.
