The Hood Arms out weighed my expectations. I booked to be close to my daughter who has major anxiety about staying away from home and was attending the SSE outdoor centre which when I booked I didn’t realise was directly opposite. A beautiful old building with loads of character. I checked in and was shown to my room. Great Wi-Fi so I was able to work while she was busy enjoying the activities. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant on the evening, slept brilliantly in a very comfy bed. The shower was extremely powerful, the breakfast was lovely and the staff really looked after us. In the morning I ran her back across the road to have another day of fun and went off to do some work feeling refreshed and well looked after. Thank you to all the staff at The Hood Arms. I will most certainly be recommending you

The welcome and room quality, internal decor and facilities . It is obviously popular and the food being served looked fabulous.

The exterior lets the property down. The old faded signs near the entrance etc and not much curb appeal at all which is a shame as inside is immaculate. I wouldn’t however stop if passing and my initial reaction on arrival was dismay. As previously mentioned a noisy road so ask to stay at the rear.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at The Hood Arms. It's a 17thC Inn and the accommodation is upstairs from the public areas. The rooms are comfortably furnished and each seemed to have individual charm. Our room (1) overlooked the rear garden, and had a large bathroom with a roll top freestanding bath, a separate walk in shower and a Chaise Longue ! We ate in the restaurant on both nights, and the food on both occasions was excellent, as was the service. They get very busy in the evenings, so booking is definitely recommended.

There was some faint noise from the restaurant below although this didn't continue beyond closing time, and also noise from some sort of extractor, or plant machinery attached to the kitchen which is situated at the rear of the building , which our room looked out onto. Limited parking is available outside the inn, but there is a free, public car park on the other side of the road by the village hall.

The English breakfast was very good. You were asked what you wanted, instead of being given a set one, which I thought was a good idea. The bed was comfortable and the walk in shower was great.

We had dinner (fish and chips). The batter on the fish was soft and not cooked through properly, ( we have crispy batter up North! ). The room was quite dimly lit and there was a lack of mirrors.

Friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully appointed room with comfortable bed and fab power shower. We had a very tasty meal in the bar the night before. There was a good selection of local produce on the menu with local beers and ciders and a good wine list. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and substantial. Good location for a lovely walk to Kilve beach. Very happy with our time spent there!

Clean well presented with all the facilities needed for a short stay friendly staff fantastic restaurant

A group of what sounded like young staff members were having extremely loud conversation late at night (around 10:45pm) in the courtyard which is overlooked by the rooms and this was really quite disruptive and they should probably know better…

Staff were very welcoming, couldn't do more for you. The overall place has a great atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable and clean, beds were great. Had dinner here one night which was absolutely delicious and breakfast was professionally presented, cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. They also have a beer garden which I imagine is lovely in the spring/ summer months. Would highly recommend.

We didn't have mugs in our room for tea and coffee, but that's forgivable!

Stayed here for one night as a guest at a nearby wedding venue. Cannot find a single thing to fault. SUPER friendly hosts, beautiful clean rooms and beds exceptionally comfy. Sublime breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend!

Nothing. Better than a lot of 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in in the UK!

The location of the property was excellent for visiting around that area of the coast, breakfast and meals served in the restaurant were also a very good quality and reasonably priced. The owner and the staff were always happy and could not do enough to help.
