Mercure Norwich Hotel

After booking we noticed reviews that had been said about the hotell, after I read a few ,I began to wonder if we had done right by booking up . People only giving 3 to 3.5 stars had me worried . Now after our stay with you , we can honestly say we had nothing to worry about. Yes I must admit some of the comments had been right, about the furniture been dated , but apart from that I don't know what all the fuss was about from other people's comments . The staff were so friendly & helpful , the hotel is clean and the food was lovely ..would we come and stay again 100% Many Thanks to everyone at Mercure hotel Norwich who made our stay enjoyable x

They wasn't anything we didn't like, we have come away very happy customers in everyway , All I can say to other people is , don't always believe everything you read ,do what we did and go & see for yourselves , you won't be disappointed x

Cheerful, friendly and helpful staff. Room and bathroom clean and pleasant. View from the window onto garages/ storage not fantastic but ok as only really there to spend the night. Decent quality tea bags and biscuits in the room. Bed comfortable. One of the best breakfasts both in quality and choice we have experienced. Staff worked hard to ensure food replenished and areas clean and well presented.

Room located near a conference room that had a party at the time. Music did turn off at midnight. This is fine but would prefer to have been told that it may be noisy at reception. Also would be great if there could be gluten free sausages at breakfast

The bar area is nice but lighting is so bright and not relaxing that you do not want to sit in there! A simple change to dimming the lighting, and some candle lights and tranquil music will change the ambience and have people wanting to relax in the evening there. Not surprised that there was no one in the bar!

The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming and she went above and beyond to address any needs we had

Only thing that bugged me was when I found the number online to contact the main desk it put me through to a switch board that kept me on hold and was eventually answered by someone I could barely understand then it just rang off the hook.. keep it simple and just let a personal ring the front desk without all the nonsense

Large en-suite room, well heated, huge bed, great breakfast, friendly staff on reception, in the bar and serving breakfast. Good COVID precautions. Excellent fish & chips in the bar. Lit car park plenty of spaces. Cancellation policy included in the price right up to the date of my stay, without this I wouldn’t have booked.

Nothing really. Just a comment to consider:- The tv in the bar was playing loud gangster rap music video for the evening. This was incongruent to the workers & trippers who were there for a sit down, quiet meal & a drink. There were bags and boxes in the reception area as you came in, it would look better if they had somewhere else to put them all.

I was super impressed with the level of service the staff was giving from the check-in, bar, and the cleaning staff. The breakfast was impressive with all you could cater for. The location was great to what we needed it for. The hotel, room, restaurant was impressively clean.

The hotel itself is dated, and could do with an upgrade, or a lick of paint and maybe change of carpet.

The location was beautiful close enough to all the shops and where I needed to get to to the car park is ok

The towels had a bit of a funny smell when they came back into the room and you had no hairdryer uh this seal around the bath was not acceptable was actually pulling away in the bathtub itself you had a blue dye that should not be there air.and also your do not disturb card with broken and the house keeper sort of open the door

Great choice room showing a little age but very clean. Staff are great. Restaurant is highly recommendable. Be hungry portion size is very large. Perfectly prepared and cooked food. Congratulations to chef and his staff.if you are not a big eater ask for smaller portion. Easy to find on sat nav disabled parking access and rooms beds very comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay . Thanks guys will be back.

Great size, very clean room. Comfortable, large bed. Good amount of furniture, good size fridge and plenty of storage. Good drinks making tray. Very good size bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Great breakfast selection. Helpful, friendly staff.

Room was too hot making it difficult to sleep, even when the radiators were off. Good size TV, but very limited channels.

The room was spacious and the bed was huge, really good location too only a short taxi drive into norwich. The breakfasts and food in general was very good. had no draught larger which upset my husband and eventually ran out of bottleed beer.

I spent ages looking for a hotel with a pool as travelled with two young children , we were not advised on booking that the pool remianed closed to covid and probably paid over the odds for this hotel for this luxury. It was disapointing. They also had no draught larger which upset my husband and eventually ran out of bottled beer, which isnt ideal on a holiday! The rooms also were not cleaned through out the week.
