Adams Guest House

2 miles from the centre of Oxford.Taxi to our wedding venue (Exeter College, Turl Street) was £6 which seemed very reasonable compared to our home town (Brighton). But I’m sure there are buses. Didn’t spend much time in Summertown where the guesthouse is but there are lots of useful shops on your doorstep - including Tesco Express, and Marks Simply Food. And very useful on a Saturday night...a mobile kebab van opposite!

Bathroom is a bit small and shower not very strong. Went hot and cold in the morning. Fine in the summer in warm weather. Maybe more of an issue in colder weather.

The location was excellent!! Only 6 mins on the bus into the town centre. The staff at Adam’s are really lovely as well. Breakfast was also really nice. We would definitely stay there again if we visit Oxford. We’ve had a lovely experience. Thank you. 👍

There’s nothing that we didn’t like to be honest. Yes, we’ve seen the comments that the rooms are tired and yes, they are. The owner told us herself that she is aware and addressing the situation. However, it was a lot more friendly and more personal than a hotel stay. X

People running the establishment (a very nice Thai couple) were friendly and helpful. Though the weather was warmer than I like a fan was provided which kept the room cool enough to sleep well.

Room was clean except for under the table. Though a minor criticism. Noise from traffic on the main road outside, though this was helped when the lady of the house closed the overhead window for me. Something I was unable to do.

Disappointed that a request for gluten free breakfast ( toast, possibly baked beans etc) Was not provided. This was made at booking and on my form The gluten free is not a choice my husband makes but he has coeliac and must have gluten free. Thankfully he is one of rare people with no symptoms, otherwise he could have had symptoms. Gluten free is no wheat rye barley or oats in any item .

Nice lady running the place, cooks individualized plates of english breakfast for you to your specifications in addition to the breakfast buffet (bread, yoghurt etc) provided. The room was light and cozy. Close to bus stops with services to the city centre and train stations. Standard of the facillities and cleaning fully ok for a bnb but could be better/updated in certain aspects.

Perfect location for us. We were heading to Blenheim Palace for a concert and also wanted to see more of Oxford. The owner greeted us on arrival with info about parking and permits which was really helpful. A clean and tidy guest house with lovely fresh towels. Breakfast was lovely made fresh to order.

The water pressure in shower wasn’t great but I guess this reflects the age of the properties and possibly the floor we were on (second). It didn’t spoil our stay but I wanted to be honest.

Enjoyed my 4 night stay here. Friendly staff. Comfy bed, lovely full English breakfast cooked fresh to order + cereals, yogurt, juices, tea, coffee, toast. Kitchenette with fridge, cooker, microwave also available. Good (BT) wifi. Off road parking for 2 cars & street permits provided if needed. Bus stops nearby or a brisk walk into town. Good local shops. Sunday street market. I will stay here again.

Great value for what was on offer. Sure its not 5 star accommodation, but offered a clean, comfortable and affordable space to stay. Free parking and breakfast total bonus. Great location near shops, cafe, restaurants and bus stop. WiFi strong enough to handle video calls. I booked a single room and was happily upgraded to a double room on arrival - thanks!

Decor is a bit dated, and shower was a little dark.

Family run business. They are very friendly people. The value for money is was very good. I had to leave early before the breakfast was served, but they encouraged me to take things from the fridge & eat my breakfast.

My room was in the top floor & WiFi signal was weak, so had to come in the ground floor to work. The room was small, but it was cosy, so I didn’t mind.

Very friendly welcome by the host. Lovely quirky room with ensuite. Breakfast was lovely, full English but also toast and cereals. Location is perfect and lovely coffee shop across the road. Cost of taxi into town was about £5/6 and very quick and reliable service. Even though the guesthouse is on a main road I didnt hear much traffic at night.

Only little thing was that the pressure of the shower wasn't great but water was warm and just took a bit longer to shower.
