Regular communication prior to visit, exact instructions on access and helpful assistance given. Room perfect size for visit with basic supplies space for everything to fit in, didn't mind standing to use my sewing machine but longer time would have liked a table and chair especially for using laptop. Bed was a bit wobbly as I moved it away from the radiator and I always travel with a sleeping bag as I find hotel beds are cold generally. Comfortable and slept well as I prefer flat pillow. Shower was lovely and hot. A lovely well maintained home with beautiful furniture and decor.
Sorry I couldn't work out your door locking system as I didn't know about the key and door handle turning at the same time, Front door sensor light on please as I had my hands full with luggage.

The Bed was quite comfortable and situated near a recessed window that I could open and look out onto a giant oak and backyard, Room had a shower and toilet and closet. I turned on the TV but didn't work and had to get the manager to reset it. After several chances I just wanted to give up and magic happened and it worked. We had a good laugh over that. Breakfast was different but not new. Having watched the BBC for years when it was announced that there would be no scrambled eggs that morning instead boiled. At first, I thought poached but when it came out I knew it would be tapping the top of the egg all the way around to remove it then with toast dunk it into gooey egg yolk. Well one of my eggs was hardened and so scooped it out onto my toast and ate it that way. Hey, Americans do do it differently. Most of the meal was meat and I am not into that. It was filling.
Well I thought I would be closer to town and the campuses but was on the far end of it. To get a meal was a mile and half (literally) walk to the restaurant I wanted to eat at. No longer the fast walker I use to be before arthritis took over. Fortunately, I had my poles and did the best I could to and back. The stay was in a walk up which did not suit my needs but got help from the management.

Good, quiet location -- a very good breakfast -- Mark, the manager, and the lady who served breakfast were very pleasant -- to have off-street parking at a B&B (although it could be cramped) was a bonus
The policy of leaving the key under the front door mat was a little unusual especially as Mark was deemed to be the Manager and, as I had given my ETA, would have expected him to be on the premises on arrival ... the door to Room 6 would not lock from the outside ... facilities in the room were adequate although there was no drinking glass in the bathroom ... the bed was only reasonably comfortable ... altogether, not good value for the rate charged.

Absolutely perfect place to stay for our Oxford city break! Being slightly out of the city centre, the price was great and our L-shaped twin room at the front of the building was a good size. Parking was also ample which was a huge relief - hard to come by within walking distance of the centre. Mark was extremely helpful and friendly. We didn’t get a chance to sample the breakfast (which was included in the price) but that was entirely our fault as we are useless at getting up early on holiday! Nice to stay somewhere with character. We would definitely stay here again, thank you so much!
The en-suite was a bit small, and I do like a bath (there was only a shower), but this is a very minor issue and we could see from the floor plan provided that it made sense to divide the rooms up in the way they were. Would always prefer a slightly small en-suite to a shared bathroom!

Mark and Derek were very welcoming and accommodating, made sure our requests were provided. We were stucked on our way to Oxford and checked-in very late, yet Mark still waited for us and welcomed us warmly. Breakfast was continental and it was superb. The coffee was perfect 💕 Location is not too far from the City Centre and the tourist spots we wanted to see. Heating was provided well, gave us warmth and comfort for the cold night. Great place if you're on a budget and just needed a comfortable place to stay for the night.
When we arrived in the room on our first day, the bathroom was not properly cleaned. There were hairs in the shower and used shampoo/body wash bottles. Bins were not emptied. There's a half-full bottle of milk, too, in the small fridge. On our last night, our room was not serviced, bins not emptied, and towels/toilet rolls were not replaced. Grateful for Derek, the owner, came in that evening to respond to our need.

Very friendly & helpful staff. We were disappointed that the Breakfast was continental as we prefer a full English BUT I must praise the excellent selection of freshly prepared fruits, delicious coffee & great crisp toast, plenty of everything & boiled eggs were offered & cooked to perfection.
We thought the room was very clean & had everything we needed. Maybe the addition of a bath mat & a 2nd hand towel would have been useful. The bed was very comfortable but the furniture and bathroom suite were very dated.. could benefit from some modernising/ refurb.

There was plenty of parking space when we arrived, The owner met us & gave us our room keys, he was extremely friendly, happy & helpful, The rooms are a bit dated but this gave the place character unlike the big chain hotels that are soulless, The rooms had plenty of tea, coffee & unusually lots of those little pots of milk, normally you only get 4, here you got a tray of them in the fridge (yes a small fridge in the room), The beds were comfortable & the room hot, I turned the radiator thermostats down as it was a bit too warm, The breakfast was a continental type breakfast, coffee or tea, cereals, fruit & fruit juices, toast, butter & jam & boiled eggs if required all served with a happy greeting & smiles, I will definitely try to book here again next time I'm in Oxford,
I cannot think of anything wrong or that I didn't like, especially for the price, you can get posher places that cost twice as much or more but you will struggle to find friendlier

Perfect location for an autumnal walk into town in the morning. The room was a good size and had everything I needed - most importantly a comfy bed and peace and quiet. Mark was incredibly welcoming and took the time to tell me about breakfast despite me showing up very late. The breakfast was perfect and I really appreciated that it came out with the toast still hot!
I dropped one smiley because of the price. However, for the centre of Oxford it was more than reasonable.

Great staff! It was a pleasure to welcome us so warmly. The manager, he was very kind and helped us with everything. The room was very cosy and classic. We weren't looking for a gorgeous or fancy hotel, but we wanted a comfortable place to experience life authentically Oxford style. They prepared a perfect English breakfast. Also, it was easy to access the central city of Oxford. This place was perfect! We would love to stay here again.
