Beaches Guesthouse

My family and I had a lovely stay at Beaches Hotel. We had a family room, which on opening the door was a nice surprise to see two rooms as one was joining for our two girls aged 9 & 13. This was lovely because we did not feel on top of one another. The rooms were big, bright and very tidy with beds being very comfortable to sleep in. The only slight negative I will say is the rooms were dusty (dressing table/bedside table etc.) and under the girls beds was dust, but besides this we loved our stay. The breakfast was fresh and very tasty and the hosts were really welcoming and accommodating. bonus was the free Wi-Fi and we were a stone throw away from the beach I would definitely recommend

Good location, just a 5 minute walk into Paignton. Family room was very spacious and comfortable. We all slept very well. Breakfast was good, Ged leaves a breakfast menu in your room and you tick what you’d like for breakfast. Ged was always attentive, checking everything was ok or if we needed anything else.

There was room for four cars on the driveway and limited parking outside. There is a public car park around the back of the property. I left my car there one night for 24 hours which cost around £10.

We stayed in room 1 and 2, family room. It was perfect. Huge, most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The shower and hand-wash smelled beautiful, we bought dome they were that nice. Shower was nice and towels were so soft. We were running late due to awful traffic and our hosts were so understanding, allowing my son who lives in the area to check-in on my behalf. Breakfast was lovely, cooked to order, with enough options to cover awkward children. We had a lovely stay and would definitely visit again.

Small things, a cup was dirty at breakfast, dishwashers can leave marks... but rather than a quick apology and a cup change, I was told it was from the toast put on the table. The cup was turned before the toast arrived. I felt a little uncomfortable discussing a dirty cup in a room full of people. The ketchup was out of date, unfortunately my son did taste it, which put him off his breakfast. These minor issues do not distract from what was the best weekend break we've had in a long time. Excellent location being a few minutes walk from Preston sea front with beach and The Boathouse Inn. Easy walking distance to paignton sea front and pier too. Parking on site to avoid having to pay/find space somewhere. Clean and comfy room with separate shower room and separate toilet. Host was friendly and organised, offering extras such as breakfast with information about the menu should we want it. The code details and WiFi login being made so apparent and easy to remember was a bonus. I liked the security of the door code knowing I could leave and enter whenever I liked but knowing members of the public couldn't just walk into the reception hall. I loved the mermaid glass above the door too! It's a small detail but as a mermaid enthusiast I appreciated I got the mermaid room.

Although there was parking it was tight, but I appreciate this is to utilise the space and provide as many guests with parking as possible. The bathrooms had privacy glass so I appreciate no blinds or curtains were needed, however as we visited in the heatwave the temperature was boiling in them. The windows opened easily and had mutiple catch settings and a small fan was provided, however it may be worth thinking about a covering just to create shade in extreme weather like this because nothing seemed to cool these rooms until the sun outside started to go down. I appreciate this is only a few weeks of the year so is not essential at all and would not change my opinion or likelihood of staying again. Everything else was perfect for our needs.

Jed the owner very friendly and helpfull. The room was as expected, clean and decorated nicely. On suite bathroom with walk in shower, seperate toilet. Tv freeview, tea and coffee. Worth booking the breakfast, all you could eat, set you up for the rest of the day. Free off road parking for 4 cars, arrive on time. Over all we would recommend and use again.

Maybe a sweep around the front entrance.

Great location with friendly owners. Breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in a B&B! Any problem was sorted out quickly.

Not a criticism but I had to ask for a chair to be put in the room as I have mobility issues and the bed was too high for me to just sit on it. We went out for the day and a chair was put in the room with no issues.

The owner greeted us. Very nice service. Very private. Very nice to be greeted by name. Cosy room with a large bathroom. Delicious breakfast. Quiet and pleasant. Very big house.

It's not that I did not like it, but you have to be prepared for the fact that there are only a few parking spaces but behind the house is a huge - unfortunately paid - parking.

Lovely welcome, made to feel at home immediately. Room was great for us as it had an adjoining room for our teenage boys. Parking was easy, right outside on the drive. Breakfast was great, preordered the night before.

Breakfast items such as juices, cereals, sauces etc would have been easier if self serve. Fruit would have been a nice addition.

It's a very long time since I've stayed in a guest house.Made to feel very at home. Booked for 3 nights. Superking size bed.Sea view room.Good spacious room. 2 min walk to Preston Sands.Close to The bus routes and lots to do within walking distance Close to Torquay and Dartmouth just a few places to visit locally.So much more to do around this Area

The bed was a bit to soft for my liking.

Met by Ged on arrival, really nice bloke even for a Boro fan, who booked us in, took breakfast order showed ourselves to the room, room nice and clean and met our expectations, nice large room (x2) one for the kids and one for the grown up's - good clean shower and toilet - decent night's sleep and breakfast as well - nothing really to moan about from start to finish - very good B&B

Nothing in real terms - I know they are new owners and COVID issues through out the last 18 months but there is a lot of woodchip wallpaper through out the B&B and acknowledge the cost of this to replaced / redecorated - not a gripe just an observation as everything else was really good.
