We loved everything about it. The outside looks lovely and certainly stands out amongst the others in the area. We went inside and it was really nicely decorated, clean and fresh. We were greeted by lovely staff who welcomed us and our dog. We were shown to our room when we checked in. It was also lovely and clean. We had a balcony with a partial sea view. Really nice to sit there and have a cup of tea after a long drive or just after waking up. It was our first time visiting the area of Torbay so we didn’t really know what to see or where to go, the owners were more than happy to give us some advice on what to see. The hotel is set perfectly in a central location really handy and not to far from Brixham or Torquay. We can’t comment on the breakfast because we didn’t have any but if it was anything like the rest of the hotel, I bet it was lovely. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better hotel in the area, we would love to return again. Jemma, Ollie and Brooke 🐾

Gary, James and his staff so welcoming and truly wonderful. Room was so clean you could eat your dinner off it. Bed was comfortable and Balcony was relaxing. Bathroom was spotless even Kim and Aggie would find it difficult to make the gloves dirty. The breakfast was tasty well presented and unlimited continental items. Small bar area relaxing and enjoyable. Front garden was nice especially if you have a dog. The location to beach was within walking distance and rail station within 15 minutes as well as town and bus links. This hotel is a gem and James and Gary are angels. Visit is a must.

Location was great if not one of the best in the area especially for the rpice we paid at £125 +£10 dog fee for 2 double beds with partial sea view rooms for 1 night. Beach and Pier only 2 min walk across the road and a nice bar/ restaurant about a minute away so no need to drive anywhere. Staff were amazing and very friendly making you feel welcome the moment you step into reception. The room's aren't the biggest but are enough to walk around and enough storage to put your things away so your room isn't cluttered. Very clean room and clean bathroom too. Small tv, kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room which was great. Nice little garden out front with a couple of benches and a smoking area. There's a multi storey carpark about 5 minutes walk away called Victoria car park which allows parking for up to 24 hours which is one the cheapest I found in the area paying no more than £9.50 for 17 hours so if the parking at the property either on site or on the road is full, there's plenty at the multi storey. Would 100% stay again!

Nothing we didn't like about the place really. Just the parking situation as you can fit maybe 6-8 cars on the free onsite parking but once we found the multi storey, problem solved.

This hotel has a brilliant location, a great relaxed atmosphere and very helpful and friendly proprietors and staff. We had a great stay and would have no problem returning in the future.

The negative I had was the noise from outside when trying to sleep at nights. Obviously, this wasn't the fault of the hotel in any way, but it ranged from boy racers, racing along the sea front, late at night, to seagulls screeching outside from about 3.30am followed by noisy traffic on The Esplanade early in the morning.. The only other disappointment was that the bar only opened between 12.00 and 6.00, but there are other places nearby so it wasn't really a problem

These guys are nailing the perfect service that there’s no way you’d get in so many other places. The proprietors and every one of their amazing team, are friendly, polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast was bang on. Garden space for nice evenings. A lovely little daytime bar. Parking spaces. On the front. Don’t let folks saying about noise put you off, seagulls are present, yes, as they are in all seaside towns, I think in any hotel you’d hear them around! We didn’t have any problem with noise, in fact I couldn’t believe how quiet it was after 10:30pm, and we stayed a three night weekend. Absolutely loved it. Keep doing what you’re doing, you work long days, and go the extra mile for people. We had an amazing weekend, and can’t thank you all enough. Claire and Jo.

Nothing to dislike. Don’t let the stair reviews put you off. The gentleman will quite happily take your bags up if you need them too. I have a knee that’s reconstructed and now bone on bone, we were the higher floor and I managed fine.

I booked this hotel as a surprise birthday present for my mum, my mum and stepfather stayed for a one night stay. I requested as a surprise a birthday banner for my mums arrival in the room they were staying in. This request was done and my mum was extremely surprised on arrival with birthday banners in the room which made her day! The staff went above and beyond by doing this and as a extra they left a birthday card from the staff too, which I wasn’t expecting. Thank you so much for all you done to make my mum’s birthday, I will definitely recommend this hotel. Like to add my parents said your breakfast was amazing too, and definitely would stay at your hotel again x

James called me when I was on the way in the car - it was a long journey just me and my dog, to check what time I was arriving, explained I would be quite late and he was lovely and said don't worry call ten minutes before you get here. He came out and helped me with all my luggage (I couldn't get one of the spaces at the hotel but was able to park on the road next to it). Welcomed Coco and checked us in. Fair is right opposite but all the music and noise stops at 10.30pm which was fine for me. Was lovely to have a little balcony to sit on. Paignton was one of the places I went to frequently as a child on holiday so holds lots of lovely memories for me. My sister joined me a couple of nights later with her dog. James and Gary were great and so happy and friendly. They just said if you need anything ask. There is also another young chap who has just joined them, sorry I don't know his name, but he was lovely too. Very dog friendly, I think Coco enjoyed his holiday as much as I did. The main reason we chose Paignton for our stay was that our elderly aunt has lived there for around 40 years after a holiday and deciding to move there. We took her to Cockington for a lovely cream tea and Dartmouth (the steam train and ferry are one of my favourite things to do when I visit). My bed was very comfortable and I have rheumatoid arthritis and an uncomfy bed can ruin a trip away for me. Considering James and Gary have only recently taken over this hotel they are already well established and ensuring people enjoy their stay. It isn't a luxury hotel but there is everything you need, it is clean and modern and the location is great. The only down side was the lack of a lift but it wasn't really a problem for me as I was assisted with my luggage both arriving and leaving. If you can't manage to get a car parking space at the hotel you can park on the road for less then £3 for 24hours.

There was a chair on the balcony but a little table would have been nice. I improvised and turned one of the waste bins upside down. I think it would be a good idea to have a laminated breakfast menu for the hot breakfast choices so when asked what you would like you would know what was available. I love black pudding but that wasn't an option.

I stayed 4 nights with my small dog, and we were both made to feel so welcome by the lovely owners. My single room was ideal as a solo traveller, with an extremely comfy bed, a great walk-in shower, large wardrobe space, and all very clean. My dog loved the secure front garden. The location was great in front of the beach, with a very short walk to pubs, and a little further but easy walk to shops, train and bus station. Great value for money, and if visiting the area again, I will be booking here again!

The Breakfast was really nice: a full English and optional cereals, pastries, and juices. I overall decour of the hotel was lovely and quite cozy and the hotel and room was brilliant value for money. The staff were really nice and were willing to help with various requests, for example my friend and I ddin't like mushrooms so in the morning there were no mushrooms on my plate!

The hotel itself was brilliant and really welcoming, however the town of Paignton itself was quite disappointing. My friend and I found that we often had to walk to Brixham or Torquay and spend our day there because Paignton was boring, repetitive and all around slightly disappointing. The town in filled with casinos, arcades and OAPs on mobile scooters who spend there day vaping and gambling.

Owners were very welcoming & chatty. Lovely hotel - extremely clean, comfortable & has whatever you require. Good breakfast-pre ordered on arrival with veggie option. Nice selection of items for Continental breakfast. Only issues were that it was noisy in the morning outside which would be helped with windows closed!! 😊 Separate issue of Windowgate was dealt with well & I was immediately given a new room. I would recommend a stay here. Lots of activities nearby and places to visit.
