The Clifton at Paignton0

My bedroom was better than average and was clean and fresh. Bed (single) was comfortable and bedding lovely to touch. I slept well. No nasty smells. Had a bath, which is rare these days. Location could not be better for trains, buses, shops and beach. Owners were pleasant and friendly. Ensuite bathroom was very clean and quite new. I did not have the breakfast.

There were a few things, though overall my experience was positive. The hall and stairways were dated and dark, steep and the carpet looked dirty. Hard work for the less fit and able. Although there was a bath, I could not have one because the bath plug (push down type) did not work and unable to fix. (Disappointing!) I only saw owners on arrival and departure, which to me is unusual. No lounge for guests.

Everything was brilliant from start to finish Steve and Claire were brilliant they couldn't of been more helpful they went above and beyond. The breakfast was delicious the room was perfect in every way the bed was very comfy .p We couldn't fault a thing it was like a staying at an old friends house if we and when we return to Paignton this will be the place to stay . Thank you for a most enjoyable holiday .

There was nothing to dislike

Friendly owners, Claire and Steve were great! Breakfast was good. Owners did their best to accommodate us and provided us with two keys which helped as I was travelling with my teenage son. Rooms decorated and very nice. Location is fabulous.

Needs doing up in general but rooms already done. Owners know as they only took over in Feb 2023 so have done loads! Would love some fresh berries at breakfast. Shame they don't do them.

Lovely couple and took time out of their busy morning to stop and have a long friendly chat with us. Steve and Claire cooked our breakfast to order and items for my wifes breakfast that was not on the menu. Fresh brewed tea and coffee at breakfast and none of that instant stuff Room nice clean and welcoming, plenty of tea and coffee on the tray in the room, parking on the forecourt with additional parking on the road opposite . Looking forward to visiting Paignton in the later part of the year and will be using the Clifton as our base. Rgds John

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome . The location was perfect . The room was lovely very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed , we stayed room only but breakfast is available if required . Steve was so friendly , always stopped us for a chat and to check we were comfortable and having a great time . We will definitely stay at the Clifton again when visiting Paignton. Had a brilliant stay. Thank you , Tracy and Steve x

Nothing to tell

Steve was a great host and non intrusive. Parking was a must for us and was right at the door. Room clean, comfortable and quiet. Tea/coffee replenished daily. Good Internet. Right in the centre of town. Would definitely recommend it.

Towels replaced every 2 days so luckily they dried overnight. Didn't have breakfast as 8.15-9 am a bit early for us. It did smell good 😁. Internet went down 2nd day but was fixed as soon as it was reported.

The hotel is lovely and clean and The owners are very helpful and friendly.The location is very handy for everything Paignton has to offer.I would definitely stay again.Great value for money.

The hotel backs onto a road where there are bars so if you stay in a back room like i did then it can be a little noisy but generally its a lovely hotel.The owners even supply ear plugs which was a nice touch.

The location was excellent, a 2 minute walk to the beach and close to all the shops. The Clifton at Paignton was clean and the room was really nice. There was parking too, which was great.We all enjoyed our stay. Steve and Claire were both great hosts. We would definitely come back and stay here.

Very clean close to the beach, shops, bar's etc. Close to bus station and train station. Great hosts, also plenty of parking space.

We had a top floor room which was not ideal as I've had a knee operation and find climbing painful. But it didn't stop us having a lovely few days

A really nice warm welcome from both Steve and Claire the room was amazingly clean good value for money and the breakfast was just wat was needed had a very nice chat with Claire and Steve over breakfast and would defo want to go bk there again thanks guys for making us feel very welcome 10/10
