Everything was great staff amazing

Disappointed with room asked for sea view did not happen our room window broken and couldn’t leave open over night as very noisy backing onto I believe to be kitchen roof very warm with window closed

Perfect 3 night stay at this delightful property dating back to 1820 and featuring a gorgeous 1937 lift. Charming, traditional interior & spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful and the ambience was lovely. Breakfast was perfect and whilst we didn’t dine in it was lovely to walk past the restaurant and see a pianist playing to diners. Not the fault of the property - the boy racers on the coastal road outside are noisy at night. However we bought ear plugs which helped!

Stepping into the hotel was like going back in time and first thoughts were oh my god BUT it’s charming, dated yes but high quality furnishings that have stood the test of time, comfortable, spotlessly clean with staff that cannot do enough for you and exceptional food. We had a brilliant time. A spot of tidying up, modernise the bathrooms and it’s a winner. Grounds are beautiful, plenty of room, I’d love them to keep the 70s vibe it’s refreshingly different and a fabulous location. Just look past the peeling paint and dated bathrooms and you’ll have a lovely comfortable break.

The breakfast was very good. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The Hotel was certainly comfortable and clean, and it has an excellent location, convenient to Tor Abbey, the sea front, and the town, while at the same time being quiet and having spacious grounds.

The decor is impressive and fairly grand, but also somewhat dated, as are the fittings. It all seems well enough maintained, it is comfortable, and has the charm of an earlier era : so the styling is not modern, but it remains a very pleasant place to stay.

Our nice room had a great sea view, despite busy traffic on the seafront road. The hotel is quiet, spacious; we felt comfortable and relaxed. The dining room is spacious. Dinner was expensive, but it was excellent food, nicely served by friendly efficient staff in formal dress. Breakfast is a wide selection of cereals and fruit. It was a great start to our day, cooked breakfast and coffee, looking out over the seafront.

On arriving at the hotel ,there has been some mistake with a room , it wasn't ready , the owner in return kindly offered me a double room with sea view and a beautiful garden , the staff was more than polite and would go out there way for you , The food is superb and would really recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a friendly environment THANK YOU TO MANAGER & STAFF ,,,, PS,,,,,,My little Frenchie loved it also , 👍🎁💥

The TV in the room only had a few channels. But sea veiwade up for it 🌅

Great facilities, very clean, bar meals& lovely staff in the bar, very grand hotel, we would stay there again.

Plenty of staff at breakfast, very long wait to order,?? once ordered very good. Alot of other people we talked to about this, said the same, shame because all other staff very good. The breakfast & bar decor could to with an update so too with the one old lift. Outside table & chairs need replacing & liver mead outside large mat too, they would have perfect hotel then.

Breakfast cold selection, excellent. Hot breakfast choices individually cooked, so fresh and also excellent. Lovely restaurant, a total delight. The views both from our sea view room and restaurant were wonderful. Staff, all very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Perfect location for exploring the whole area. Highly recommended.

Sruff are friendly, Tranquility atmosphere, night time you can hear ocean waves, outdoors swimming pool with jacuzzi, nice landscape, big car P lot. Food - breakfast, well 5 out of 10

Well, it wasn't bad, but to see stuff in old fashion outfit and old interior design and squeaky floors makes it a bit creepy tho... Also food not to much of the choice, but I believe its like this due to covid19 situation.

The dining room is the jewel in the crown of this hotel, opulent luxury and exceptional food. The staff are a very close second, all really friendly and helpful.

The wifi doesn't work. This was very disappointing until I learnt how to use the personal hot spot on my mobile phone and then all was good again!
