The charm of an old inn is unmistakable. Having the pub/restaurant right downstairs (very very authentic and filled with locals) ideal. Had a delicious dinner there one night. Spent 2 nights at the inn exploring the area. Walked from the inn to the start of the nearby hike up Ben Y Vrackie which was stunning. The inn is close to the town of Pitlochry (easy walking distance) with all its shops and restaurants. Also a lovely river going through the town worth a wee walk around. Great place for a stopover if you are travelling from Edinburgh or Glasgow to the Highlands.

Nothing I didn't like. Absolutely fabulous stay.

We travelled as a family for our nieces wedding. Myself and husband stayed in the Moulin Inn, our 3 daughters and son-in-law stayed in Lilac Cottage, owned by the Moulin Inn. Our room had a very comfy bed, tea, coffee, hot chocolate sugar and milk, good shower and a good outlook towards the hills at the back of the Moulin Inn. The breakfast was excellent with good choices. My husband and I had meal in the bar/restaurant which was excellent. They allow dogs too, but we didnt have ours with us. The staff were great, friendly , chatty and we met a couple of locals too and after talking to Tosh , in a roundabout way helped us book a taxi back from our nieces wedding. The rest of the family were in Lilac cottage , just across from the Moulin Inn. It had everything they needed, it was clean, beautifully decorated and had a bottom shower room and ensuite from the double bedroom. A cleaning pack was left in the kitchen too.Space for 3 cars to park, garden lovely.

This was a return visit for us, and our first stay in one of the cottages, which was ideal for our needs. The rooms were arranged exactly as we'd requested, and the cottage itself was spacious, well-appointed, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was not included in our rate (and be aware that, while there were tea/coffee makers in the kitchen, there was no tea/coffee itself as you often find in UK hotels), but there is a large, well-stocked co-op just down the road which had everything we needed. The hotel's pub is wonderful - charming, full of history, and the food is great!

i absolutely love this hotel. stayed here a couple of times now and will definitely be returning. not only could I bring my dog but I could eat in the restaurant with him. the rooms have very cute decor very in fitting with the age of the property. the brewery makes excellent ales. the breakfast was also great and would recommend getting the full Scottish. will be back again soon for sure.

the only thing I would have liked is for the outdoor seating to have been available but it didn’t take anything away from our stay.

The staff were super friendly and attentive. We stayed for our evening meals which there was a good choice, well presented and tasty. We also took our dog and he was spoiled rotten by the staff. Excellent breakfast choices in the morning too. It was well kept and clean and close to all the amenities.

They was only the bed in our room which wasn’t very comfortable. It was a bit hard and I could feel the spring’s through it. Saying that it wouldn’t put me off staying again. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely service. Responded to particular needs with lightness that was impressive. Coffee and digestifs in lounge. Delightful location. Delicious ales, particularly honeyed stout. Staff with humour and character. Hearty, tasty food. Interesting dishes that are not afraid to be simply downright tasty. Pork chops with caramelly grill lines, cider gravy and chips! Huge meaty pies. Good range of dishes catering for all tastes.

Great characterful venue, generous to a fault. Tempting desserts (whisky pud) impossible to sample because ample starter and main made succumbing impossible! Super local produce. Cheese held promise but even trencher-woman such as myself unable to contemplate thanks to earlier deliciousness! Previous reviews said portions a touch small. Unbelievable! I'd advocate reducing portions to leave room for cheese!

Stayed at the cottage and it was great for a group of friends. It's self catered and the kitchen is fully equipped. Like, everything you need. The single use kitchen essentials boxes were a great touch. The place was spacious and well furnished. 3 bedrooms with decent size beds.

While kitchen was very clean, there was a lot of dust on most other surfaces. Around the window sills was especially bad. A bit of dusting now and then would make the place look less worn out.

The ambience and staff were fantastic. The food was good pub grub. There was a good choice of beers. It was dog friendly. The room was very nice. The window boxes were lovely.

The stripy wallpaper detracted from the nice features such as the tartan drapes around the windows and the pictures on the wall. It looked too busy. Plain walls would look better. Besides that the room was great and we'll be back.

Absolutely picturesque. The pub had great food and beer. All of the staff were kind and accommodating. We missed breakfast the next day because we slept in (breakfast is served until 9:30) but they were lovely, we ate from the buffet, and they gave us toast. The area outside the breakfast area is wedding worthy. I would stay here again and again.

The beds were little hard, and the walls are a little thin.

Price of the hotel was good for our short stay. The hotel has nice charm and is comfortable.

lighting in the tavern. such a cool tavern but can’t understand how business managers and owners don’t understand the importance of nice comfortable lighting. Having bright lights in a tavern takes completely away from the atmosphere. We asked if they could dim the lights but they said it wasn’t possible.
